 Easter gives us hope and a new life. Easter is the most significant holiday of the Christian calendar. We believe that according to the Holy Scriptures Jesus Christ was arrested by the Jewish leaders and was led to the Roman court. Jewish chief Priest and elders plotted against Jesus to put Him to death. The soldiers of the governor stripped Jesus, struck Him on the head, spat on Him, chastise Him, put a crown of thorns over His head .And took him to a place called Golgotha, where they nailed Him to the cross. Jesus was on the cross for six hours and died. He was buried the same evening but on the third day an angel of the Lord descended from the heaven and rolled away the stone from the grave and sat on it. Jesus Christ was resurrected from the dead as He said to His disciples before His death.
We Christians believe that if Christ is not risen our faith is futile and our preaching is empty. But Bible says in 1 Corinthians 15: 3-5 That Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures .He was seen by His disciples and stayed on the earth for fourty days and then in front of His disciples He was taken to the heaven.
Easter bunnies and Easter eggs are not part of the religious believes but are different ways of celebration. Christians worship on Sundays because that is the day of resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.!
