Actress Samyuktha Weds Cricketer Aniruda Srikkanth in Ceremony

Tamil actress and former Bigg Boss contestant Samyuktha Shanmughanathan tied the knot with cricketer Aniruda Srikkanth on Thursday in an intimate ceremony attended by close family and friends.

The couple, who kept the celebrations low-key, shared their wedding moments on social media soon after the ceremony. Their posts included photographs from the traditional wedding and a behind-the-scenes video capturing the duo preparing for their big day. The clip also featured television host and columnist Bhavna Balakrishnan, one of Samyuktha’s closest friends.

In her heartfelt message in the video, Bhavna said, “Sometimes opposites attract. Sometimes similar people come together… But if two people came together as friends and healed each other in a very special manner, that was Ani and Sam. Wishing you two a beautiful life together.”

Aniruda, the son of former India cricketer Krishnamachari Srikkanth, is known for his stint in domestic cricket as well as his work as a sports commentator. Samyuktha, meanwhile, has been gaining recognition for her role as a police officer in director A. S. Mukundan’s recent Tamil release “Madharas Mafia Company.” Her popularity surged following her appearance on the Tamil edition of Bigg Boss.

The actress had stirred curiosity about her relationship earlier this year when she subtly hinted on Instagram that she was dating Aniruda. In a long, emotional post from August, she reintroduced herself to followers, reflecting on her struggles during the pandemic, her Bigg Boss breakthrough, and her journey rebuilding her life as a single mother.

She wrote about navigating a difficult phase, raising her then four-year-old son, rediscovering herself through fitness, and embracing life’s second chances. Signing off that post, she added playfully, “P.S. got a very cute BF also. Yaay! Happy endings.”
