It was a victorious day according to Hindu Astrology – Jaya Ekadashi with Rohani Nakshatra Prevailing. His departure can be likened to that of The Great Mahabharat Kuru Dynasty – Bhishma Pitamah. Bhishma Pitamah laid on a bed of arrows, on Jaya Ekadashi, reciting the Shri Vishnu Sahasranaam, in the presence of the Pandavas Brothers, Vyaas Ji and Lord Shri Krishna, as he waied for Uttaraayanam, indicating the Sun travelling northwards.

Pandit Jadonath experienced a similar departure as he laid on a bed with Kus Grass (containing the presence of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva/ per our Garuda Puran). It was also Jaya Ekadashi and Rohani Nakshatra was prevailing. Towards the end of his life on earth, Pandit Jadonath was still chanting verses from the Holy.

Pandit Jadonath combined intellect with deep spirituality, Body, Mind and Intellect (BMI). As a Hindi and Sanskrit scholar, he became a legendary Dharmaacharaya and a true torchbearer of Shri Sanatan Dharma, across North and South America, the West Indies and India.

Introduction: February 2026 is a monumental month, anchored by a Full Snow Moon in Leo (Feb 1) and a high-stakes Solar Eclipse in Aquarius (Feb 17). These lunar events signal a “threshold of a new era,” forcing us to balance personal pride with collective progress.

Aries (Mesh)

The month begins with a roar as the Leo Full Moon illuminates your sector of romance and creativity. This is your moment to take center stage; a creative project or a blossoming flirtation could reach a thrilling peak. However, the energy shifts dramatically during the Aquarius Solar Eclipse on the 17th. This eclipse acts as a “fateful reset” for your social circles. You may find yourself parting ways with a group that no longer aligns with your values or suddenly stepping into a leadership role within a new community. With Saturn moving into your sign on the 13th, the universe is asking you to trade impulsive heat for long-term authority. Lead with heart, but ground your actions in newfound maturity. By month’s end, Mercury Retrograde invites you to retreat and process these rapid identity shifts.

Taurus (Vrishabha)

February pulls you between the private and the public. The Full Moon on the 1st shines a spotlight on your home and family life, perhaps bringing a domestic project to completion or highlighting a need for emotional security. As a fixed sign, you may feel the “tectonic shifts” of the Aquarius Solar Eclipse on the 17th more than others. This eclipse strikes your career sector, signaling an unpredictable breakthrough or a sudden change in professional direction. Don’t be afraid of the “call to adventure”—a launchpad is taking the place of your safety net. With Uranus stationed directly in your sign, your personal metamorphosis is accelerating. Your public reputation is undergoing a transformation that may surprise you. Use the latter half of the month to reflect on how your professional ambitions can better support your soul’s evolution.

Gemini (Mithuna)

Your words carry massive weight this month. The Leo Full Moon on the 1st initiates a breakthrough in communication—anticipate a momentous “aha” moment or a meaningful conversation that clarifies matters. Your curiosity is piqued, and the Aquarius solar eclipse on the 17th pushes you to expand your horizons even further. This eclipse activates your house of higher learning and travel, potentially bringing a sudden opportunity to study abroad, publish work, or shift your entire worldview. This eclipse provides a refreshing change for individuals who have experienced stagnation. However, with Mercury, your ruling planet, going retrograde on the 26th, double-check all travel plans and keep your “evil twin” in check to avoid unnecessary drama. Focus on resonance over raw data; the truth you seek is found in intuition, not just information.

Cancer (Karka)

Financial clarity arrives early with the Leo Full Moon on the 1st, which illuminates your values and earned income. This is a time to audit your budget and recognize your worth. The real intensity, however, lies in the Aquarius Solar Eclipse on the 17th, which activates your sector of intimacy, shared resources, and deep transformation. This eclipse may trigger a “soul contract” renewal or a sudden shift in how you handle joint finances. You are being asked to release old fears surrounding vulnerability and power. With Saturn entering your career house on the 13th, a two-year period of professional responsibility begins. You are taking up more space than ever before. Use the Mercury Retrograde starting on the 26th to revisit travel dreams or spiritual practices that help you stay grounded amidst these deep internal changes.

Leo (Simha)

February begins with your personal “glow-up.” The Full Moon in your sign on the 1st is a peak moment of visibility, inviting you to shed the masks you wear for others and stand in your authentic truth. This month is a celebration of you. However, the focus shifts outward during the Aquarius Solar Eclipse on the 17th, which lands in your partnership sector. This event is a “total soul reboot” for your one-on-one relationships. Whether it’s a sudden beginning, a dramatic ending, or a radical shift in a current bond, the universe is clearing space for people who reflect your future, not your past. As your beliefs evolve, you may find that your old social dynamics no longer fit. Practice patience as Mercury goes retrograde on the 26th; some “emotional confessions” may need a second look before they are fully understood.

Virgo (Kanya)

The month opens with a whisper as the Leo Full Moon illuminates your subconscious. This is a time for deep rest and paying attention to your dreams, as hidden intuitive gifts may surface. The major shift occurs on the 17th with the Aquarius Solar Eclipse in your sector of work and wellness. This marks a professional reset—perhaps a sudden opportunity to enter a unique job market or a total overhaul of your daily routine. You are being pushed to let go of “perfectionism” and embrace innovation. With Saturn moving into your intimacy sector on the 13th, you’re also learning challenging lessons about boundaries and shared responsibilities. On the 26th, when Mercury retrogrades in your relationship house, you can anticipate the reappearance of former romantic partners or collaborators. Use this time to refine how you connect with others without losing yourself.

Libra (Tula)

February is “made for fun and love.” The Leo Full Moon on the 1st lights up your house of friendship and joy, potentially bringing a social event or community project to a beautiful culmination. You are feeling the love from your tribe. But don’t get too comfortable in the status quo; the Aquarius Solar Eclipse on the 17th brings a “creative or romantic rebirth.” This eclipse triggers your sector of passion and self-expression, encouraging you to follow joy unapologetically, even if it feels “weird” or unconventional to others. You are rewriting your personal myth regarding what makes you happy. With Saturn entering your partnership zone on the 13th, your one-on-one bonds are also getting a serious upgrade in commitment. The end-of-month Mercury Retrograde suggests a need to review your daily habits to ensure they support this new, lighter version of yourself.

Scorpio (Vrishchika)

The month begins with a close examination of your public image. The Leo Full Moon on the 1st enhances your career and reputation—are people recognizing your genuine abilities? Be bold about what you want to achieve. The Aquarius Solar Eclipse on the 17th, which impacts the foundations of your chart, shifts the energy inward. This eclipse redefines “home” for you, potentially bringing a sudden move, a change in family dynamics, or a psychological breakthrough regarding your foundations. You are releasing ancestral patterns to build a life that feels genuinely yours. With your ruler Mars causing “plot twists” in your financial sector, stay flexible with your resources. Mercury retrograde at the end of the month may bring back a creative project from the past. Trust the “awakening” happening within; your inner world is currently your greatest source of power.

Sagittarius (Dhanu)

Adventure is calling. The Leo Full Moon on the 1st expands your vision, possibly bringing a teaching or publishing opportunity to life. Trust your intuition—it’s pointing you toward a bigger stage. The Aquarius Solar Eclipse on the 17th then resets your communication sector. This is a “fateful turning point” in how you share your message and connect with your immediate environment. Your words have the ability to innovate, so be prepared for unexpected news or a change in your voice. With Saturn moving into your sector of joy and creativity on the 13th, you’re beginning to take your hobbies and romantic life more seriously. As Mercury goes retrograde on the 26th, home matters or family conversations may become muddled. Take a “pause and meditate” approach to avoid misunderstandings. You are preparing for a massive shift in direction come June.

Capricorn (Makara)

The month starts with a lesson in vulnerability. The Leo Full Moon on the 1st asks you to let go of control in your intimate bonds and trust the process of healing. Financial matters also reach their peak at this time, leading to the resolution of a shared resource issue. The Aquarius Solar Eclipse on the 17th then triggers a major “restructure of your income and values.” This moment is a fateful opportunity to change how you make money or how you define security. You are building a life based on meaning rather than just duty. With Saturn, your ruler, moving into your home sector on the 13th, the next two years will focus on building a more solid personal foundation. Expect some “delays in initiation” as Mercury goes retrograde on the 26th. Use this time to clear mental clutter and ensure your new financial goals align with your soul’s purpose.

Aquarius (Kumbha)

This is your month of “total soul reboot.” While the Leo Full Moon on the 1st highlights relationship truths and asks you to lead with your heart, all eyes are on you for the Solar Eclipse in your sign on the 17th. This is the first eclipse in Aquarius since 2018, marking a dramatic new chapter in your personal evolution. You are shedding old identities and manifesting a life that resonates with your core. It’s a “fateful beginning” that may feel both shocking and liberating. With your ruler Uranus moving direct, the momentum is unstoppable. However, Saturn’s move into your communication sector on the 13th demands that you speak with more authority and responsibility. As Mercury turns retrograde on the 26th, take a moment to look back at your finances. You are birthing a new dream; ensure it is anchored in reality.

Pisces (Meena)

February is a month of “rising from the fog.” The Leo Full Moon on the 1st reveals how your daily habits affect your well-being—listen to your body’s messages. The real magic unfolds during the Aquarius Solar Eclipse on the 17th. Landing in your sector of the subconscious and endings, this eclipse clears “karmic debris” to make way for a new version of you. It is a quiet but powerful “inner world stir.” With Venus and Mercury entering your sign on the 6th and 10th, you are magnetic and artistic, though Mercury’s retrograde in your sign on the 26th suggests you should “pause, review, and surrender” rather than rush. Saturn is finally leaving your sign on the 13th, ending a heavy period of personal testing. You are moving toward financial growth and a deeper connection to your spiritual values.

One of the most sacred collections of scriptures in India is known as the Vedas. Originally preserved through oral tradition, these divine teachings were later compiled and systematized by the great sage Rishi Vyasa. He entrusted this vast knowledge to four of his foremost disciples:

Rishi Paila Rig Veda

Rishi Vaishampayana Yajur Veda

Rishi Jaimini Sama Veda

Rishi Sumanta Atharva Veda

Together, these form the four great Vedas.

Each Veda is traditionally divided into three major sections:

Mantra Section

This section expresses Truth in poetic form. It glorifies nature and the eternal Reality, presenting the vision of Truth as seen by the poets.

Brahmana Section

This part explains rituals and ceremonial practices. It reflects the understanding of Truth as interpreted by priests.

Upanishads Section

This final section explores Truth philosophically. It presents the deepest inquiry into the nature of life and existence, as seen by philosophers.

“Thus, poets, priests, and philosophers are all contemplating the same eternal Truth from different perspectives. The Vedas honor every individual’s right to independently seek and realize Truth.”

Vedanta and the Meaning of Upanishad

The Upanishads are considered the essence of the Vedas. Since they appear at the end of each Veda, their philosophy is called Vedanta — Veda (knowledge) + anta (end).

The word Upanishad comes from three Sanskrit roots:

Upa — near

Ni — below

Shad — to sit

Thus, Upanishad means “to sit near and humbly at the feet of a teacher,” symbolizing the transmission of sacred knowledge from master to disciple.

The word Veda comes from the Sanskrit root “विद् (vid)”, meaning “to know.” Therefore, Veda means “knowledge.” The Vedas are eternal not merely as texts, but because the knowledge they convey is eternal.

Profound Vedic Declarations

Unity of Truth

Sanskrit (Devanagari):
एकं सद् विप्रा बहुधा वदन्ति।
(Ṛg Veda 1.164.46)

Transliteration:
Ekaṃ sad viprā bahudhā vadanti.

Meaning:
Truth is one; the wise call it by many names.

Welcoming Noble Thoughts

Sanskrit (Devanagari):
आ नो भद्राः क्रतवो यन्तु विश्वतः।
(Ṛg Veda 1.89.1)

Transliteration:
Ā no bhadrāḥ kratavo yantu viśvataḥ.

Meaning:
Let noble thoughts come to us from every direction.

Together, these two ślokas reveal a beautiful vision of oneness and harmony. We are urged to welcome knowledge from all traditions, philosophies, and faiths, because the eternal Truth is one, though known by many names.

Vision of Universal Unity

This timeless idea is also beautifully expressed in the Mahā Upanishad: The Mahā Upanishad is a lesser known but important philosophical text belonging to the Atharva Veda tradition.

Sanskrit (Devanagari):
वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम्।

Transliteration:
Vasudhaiva kuṭumbakam.

Meaning:
The whole world is one family.

Since Veda means “knowledge,” Sanātana Dharma is, at its heart, a reverence for knowledge itself — a sacred pursuit of truth, wisdom, and enlightenment. The central purpose of the Vedas is to affirm the unity of mankind. Let harmony begin within India and then spread across the world.

“This is the grand and timeless vision of our Rishis — a world guided by wisdom, unity, and eternal Truth, as revealed in the Vedas.”

Introduction: Here is a Moon-calendar–based (lunar influence focused) Year 2026 Horoscope for all 12 zodiac signs, written in a Western zodiac framework but emphasizing Moon phases, emotional cycles, inner growth, and timing rather than only planetary transits.
In 2026, the cosmic landscape is defined by the “Year of the Fire Horse” and a historic shift of major planets. According to the Moon Calendar, 2026 is a year of “Initiation,” where the heavy, slow energy of recent years is replaced by a fast-paced, fiery momentum.

Aries (Mesh) – March 21 – April 19

For Aries, 2026 is a year of emotional recalibration guided by lunar cycles. The Moon urges you to slow down, reflect, and act with awareness rather than impulse. New Moons bring fresh beginnings in career and personal identity, while Full Moons reveal truths in relationships and unresolved emotions. Family and home matters demand balance during eclipses. Financial decisions work best when timed carefully, and health improves when physical activity follows lunar rhythms. Spiritually, the year teaches that real strength lies not just in action, but in emotional awareness and timing.

Summary

The year starts with a “Deep Reset.” With Saturn and Neptune entering your sign, you are being called to lead. Career growth is “slow but sure,” especially after June when Jupiter enhances your assets. You’ll feel a push to be a “spiritual warrior”—balancing your natural fire with inner peace.

Key Focus: Emotional boundaries and real estate.

Taurus (Vrishabha) – April 20 – May 20

In 2026, the Moon plays a grounding yet transformative role for Taurus. Emotional security, values, and finances take center stage. New Moons favor wealth planning, creativity, and skill development, while Full Moons help release emotional attachments that limit growth. You may feel torn between comfort and change, but learn that growth need not disturb stability. Relationships deepen through honest communication. Health improves with consistent routines and proper rest. Professionally, patience brings steady rewards. By honoring emotional rhythms, Taurus achieves both inner peace and material stability.

Summary

You are stepping out of a long cycle of instability. Financial gains are predicted through communication and networking. Jupiter moves into your 3rd house in June, making it an excellent year for short trips and learning new skills. Avoid workplace gossip to keep your momentum steady.

Key Focus: Diversifying income and family harmony.

Gemini (Mithuna) – May 21 – June 20

For Gemini, 2026 highlights emotional awareness beneath a busy mind. The Moon influences communication, relationships, and inner balance. New Moons support bold ideas and meaningful conversations, while Full Moons expose emotions hidden behind words. You learn to balance logic with feeling. Partnerships undergo change, demanding clarity and boundaries. Career growth improves when intuition guides decisions. Mental health benefits from journaling and grounding practices. Travel and learning flourish under favorable lunar phases. This year teaches Gemini that emotional honesty—not information overload—brings clarity and deeper connections.

Summary

Your curiosity will finally pay off as ideas turn into tangible results. Eclipses in March may force a career rethink, but Jupiter’s move into Cancer in June transforms your skills into wealth. Relationship clarity is essential; be honest about your needs to avoid “oscillating” between people.

Key Focus: Financial strategy and public image.

Cancer (Karka) – June 21 – July 22

As a Moon-ruled sign, Cancer feels 2026 deeply. Emotional sensitivity rises, but so does intuition and inner strength. New Moons support self-renewal, healing, and career shifts. Full Moons stir family memories and unresolved emotions, offering release and closure. Relationships evolve as you learn self-care alongside giving. Financial decisions improve when guided by intuition. Health depends strongly on emotional well-being, rest, and nurturing routines. Eclipses push you toward leadership and confidence. By flowing with emotional tides, Cancer finds empowerment and deep fulfillment.

Summary

This is your “Year of Identity Reclamation.” As the host of the first Supermoon, you’ll stop people-pleasing and reclaim your power. Jupiter’s transit through your sign until mid-year boosts your confidence and family life. By November, you’ll shed outdated relationships to make room for a new self.

Key Focus: Self-care and professional authority.

Leo (Simha) July 23 – August 22

In 2026, the Moon encourages Leo to explore emotional depth beneath confidence. Vulnerability becomes a source of strength. New Moons support spiritual growth, creativity, and quiet preparation, while Full Moons highlight friendships and leadership roles. You reassess who truly supports you. Career progress requires emotional intelligence as much as ambition. Eclipses bring insights about goals and public image. Health improves with balance between effort and rest. Romance deepens through honest expression. The year teaches Leo that true authority comes from self-awareness and emotional authenticity.

Summary

The “Fire Horse” energy suits you perfectly. You’ll feel a massive surge in charisma and creative power. The February eclipse opens doors for a soul-deep romantic connection. While expenses might rise due to travel, your social circle will expand, bringing influential mentors into your life.

Key Focus: Creative expression and heart health.

Virgo (Kanya) – August 23 – September 22

The Moon urges Virgo to release control and trust emotional flow in 2026. Focus shifts to friendships, future goals, and emotional fulfillment. New Moons inspire teamwork and planning, while Full Moons clarify career direction. You may feel stretched between duty and desire, learning balance as the key lesson. While holding on to our traditions, we should respect others’ festivals and celebrations. “Understanding that all religions are paths to One God will bring us closer together, healing a fractured world,” says Abhishek Mishra, whose faith in the Divine was strengthened by some mysterious events unfolding in their home in Edison, New Jersey.

Mishra and his family are religious by nature, but they can’t thank Lord Shiva enough for blessing their home. He has reached out to the community papers, showing them naturally formed (Swayambhu) images of Shiva appearing in their home at 25 Lavender Drive. The family and their friends were stunned to witness these sacred formations. “Mahadev ji has blessed our home, and we feel his divine presence on our property all the time,” he says.

Among the astonishing manifestations at the Mishra house was a Shivling formed during the winter snow, while a 50-foot image of Lord Shiva holding a trident appeared in the backyard snow. Inside, an image of Shiva with Nandi was discerned on the bathroom tiles, and another meditative form of Shiva emerged from ice.

As word spread, many people have been eager to witness this spiritual marvel. For many believers, the formations at the Mishra house are a sign of divine blessings, strengthening their faith and devotion. Abhishek Mishra, an intuitive individual, wants to inspire faith in a Divine Power, referred to by different names across religions and worshipped in various forms. Aligning with that Divine Power will make our worldly life happy, peaceful, and prosperous.

Abhishek Mishra’s family is an accomplished one. With a master’s in computer science from NYIT, he worked in the IT industry for 20 years at Fortune 500 companies. His wife, Namita, has a master’s in computer engineering from Stevens Institute and has worked for Goldman Sachs and other top firms. Their son is pursuing a master’s in computer science, and their daughter is a genetic counselor.

The Mishra family welcomes visitors who would like to learn about and experience the spiritual miracle. Contact 732.690.0404 for more information.

Introduction: In scripture, it is said that the new moon (Amavasya) shows us signs of things to come. For the next 4 weeks, the following horoscopes are general forecasts with karmic remedies based on traditional Vedic sidereal sign calculations and not the Western sun-sign. These should be read according to your rising sign (Lagna) or Moon sign in your Vedic sidereal astrology chart.

Aries:

During this New Moon, of October 21st, 4 grahas, Sun and Moon, Mars and Mercury, conjoin in your 7th house of marriage and partnership. With this conjunction in Libra, and the ruler, Venus, in its sign of debilitation, these next 4 weeks demand attention to this part of your life. Patience, kindness and clear communication give best results. Jupiter is moving into its sign of exaltation. Take advantage of this positive 1 year transit by making your home a place of peace and spiritual sanctuary where tuning into your Higher Self will guide you through the temporary bumps in the road in other areas of life.

Taurus:

With the planetary cluster in your 6th house, it’s a good time to focus on debts and legal matters during the 4 weeks following the October new moon. Take extra care of your health. Getting outside in nature for at least a few minutes every day can prove therapeutic. In matters of romance, remember not to judge others strictly by appearance. Treat your partner as your cheerleader and team mate. He or she can help you at this time if you reach out tenderly. As Jupiter blesses your third house for another year or so, you can also make a positive spiritual connection with neighbors or siblings.

Gemini:

During the 4 weeks following the new moon of October 21st, you could encounter mother’s family more than usual. Also, dealings with children might be emphasized as the new moon and the planetary conjunctions of Sun with Moon and Mars with Mercury happens in your 5th house. Spending time with children could activate its other benefic qualities, like romance and speculative income. Jupiter, entering your second house is a blessing and can bring abundance to you and your family, especially when it reaches your ascendant (lagna) degree. Acts of kindness to teachers and gurus will enhance and expand Jupiter’s positive vibrations, especially for the next 12 months.

Cancer:

Sun, Moon, Mars and Mercury are closely conjoined, this coming new moon, in your 4th house. So it’s a good time to focus on taking care of your living space and your mother, or the mother figures in your life. Since the discussion of business matters and family matters might intertwine for the next 4 weeks, you might have to exercise restraint to keep communications kind and peaceful. Astrological forecasts are like helpful road signs and weather reports. Use them as foresight to make the best of probable conditions. Stay kind and peaceful and enlist the help of siblings. A woman will be there to back you up.

Leo:

The new moon of October 21st will happen in your 3rd house and that’s where Mars and Mercury will also be. So, extra focus will be on neighbors, siblings, hobbies and communications. Take extra care of arms and hands during the following 4 weeks. Travels and short trips might prove to be a bit complicated during this period. To avoid wasteful haste, give yourself extra time. For the next year, allow yourself quiet time and spiritual pilgrimage in isolation, whether it’s in a faraway temple or in your own bedroom. Old secrets could resurface. Allow yourself time to process so you can let go and move on.

Virgo:

As October’s new moon brings the cluster of planets to your 2nd house, family values will have the spotlight for the next 4 weeks. You might be inclined toward projects involving family money. Remember to practice kindness in your communication. Everything is energy and consciousness. And the planetary archetypes are clues, prompting us to make positive choices and change, to improve our lives and the lives of others. With Venus, the planet of beauty and love, in your first house (lagna), you can enhance positivity by dressing well and putting your best foot forward. Take extra care of your eyes and what you eat, to improve results.

Libra:

Since the new moon and the conjunction of 4 grahas (celestial bodies) are in your own sign, Libra, you have great potential and opportunity to start new things, especially during the following 2 weeks. Channel your physical energy constructively while you’re awake and balance the activity with
plenty of rest. Venus, the planet of beauty and love, is in your 12th house of bed pleasures. They don’t call it “beauty sleep” for nothing. You might find yourself indulging in luxury spending. Invest sensibly. Donate part of any unearned income to a charity or a needy woman, especially if you are asked. This could avoid an involuntary loss.

Scorpio:

This new moon and resulting conjunction of 4 grahas (celestial bodies) is transiting your 12th house. Venus, the planet of luxury is transiting your house of prosperity. For the next 4 weeks, a karmic remedy would be to pay off debts as best you can. If you have no debts, be charitable. You might also feel like being reclusive or spending time in a distant city. For the next year, Jupiter’s 9th house transit supports your spiritual practice and pilgrimage. Any of these things would help you channel the cosmic energies. This is temporary, so better to make the best of it consciously, than having circumstance dictate.

Sagittarius:

Due to the Sun-Moon and Mercury-Venus conjunction in your 11th house of gains, dreams and wishes, this 4 week period following the October 21st Amavasya could bring a financial windfall, Sagittarius! This of course depends on your own chart’s planetary placements and your karmic actions. A woman at your workplace might have valuable feedback. She might be the catalyst of your gains. Any work stress can be greatly eased by taking a walk after work. Or you can put on some music and dance, even if it’s just in your living room. Using your legs is a natural way of activating the energies on your blessed houses.

Capricorn:

In the 4 weeks following the October 21st new moon with Sun, Moon, Mars and Mercury conjunct in your 10th house, there is likely to be a lot of emphasis on authorities for Capricorns. That could mean extra focus on work, your boss, or your father. Follow the signs and listen to your teachers and gurus during this period with Venus’s transit in your 9th house of higher learning. Spiritual advice from a supportive woman can bring positive energy to your work life. So keep your eyes open to recognize her. Visiting a temple or planning a trip to an Ayurvedic spa can be extra beneficial now.

Aquarius:

The spotlight for you in the 4 weeks following the October 21st new moon is in the realm of long-distance travel and higher learning. Depending on where you are in life, this could be college or spiritual learning. The Sun, Moon, Mars and Mercury are all in your 9th house, bringing extra focus to these things. Since your 9th house ruler, Venus is transiting your 8th house, you might find yourself entertaining in-laws or elders. To activate the positive side of these transits, be generous and give time to teachers and gurus. Patience and kindness is in order and will benefit everyone in your sphere of influence.

Pisces:

On the new moon of October 21st, the conjunction of grahas, meaning Sun, Moon, Mars and Mercury, will be in your 8th house. This is the house of in-laws, paternal aunts and uncles or unearned income, among other things. Venus, transiting your 7th house of partnership, tells me that your spouse
or partner will play a prominent role in your life during the following 4 weeks. Single Pisces natives who want partnership could find their great love during this time. But hold off from meeting future in-laws until next month, when Venus moves into its own sign and the complicated conjunction also moves off the 8th house.

Introduction: In scripture, it is said that the new moon shows us signs of things to come. For the next 4 weeks, the following horoscopes are general forecasts with karmic remedies based on traditional Vedic sidereal sign calculations and not the Western sun-sign. These should be read according to your rising sign (Lagna) or Moon sign in your Vedic sidereal astrology chart.

Aries:

Avoid arguments with your partner, dear Aries. Venus, the planet of beauty and love, the ruler of your house of marriage is in the fiery sign of Leo, about to cross paths with Ketu, the south node of the Moon. Mars is in your house of partnership and this new moon is happening during a solar eclipse. All these placements can make you prone to senseless anger and fighting. Hold off on new beginnings in the realm of relationships until these placements have passed. Married couples could channel this energy by surprising your spouse with strategically hidden love notes and working out at the gym. Be kind.

Taurus:

During this eclipse, your marriage house ruler, Mars, is in your sixth house. This can be a good thing. Just take good care of your health. Saturn is in your house of wishes. The positive effect of this is the manifestation of your dreams. It could take some time, but keep focused on your heart’s desire, work for it and rewards will come. If you’re planning a wedding, try to save for the future. This is temporary. For single Taurus natives seeking marriage prospects, the planets support an introduction to someone special. Family members could be helpful. Take your time. There no need to rush into anything.

Gemini:

Jupiter, who we refer to as “Guru”, is still transiting your first house. As the ruler of your house of marriage, it is helping you approach partnership with spiritual values. While Mars, in your house of romance, is adding a lot of spice, remember that gentleness stokes the fire better than pushiness. Reading a spiritual book together and sharing your thoughts will strengthen your union. Focus on your partner’s needs more than your own, Gemini. Resist the temptation to give practical gifts to your romantic partner, especially if you are a man. Rather, light up your house of romance with a therapeutic massage for your sweetheart’s health.

Cancer:

Saturn, the ruler of your house of marriage is transiting your ninth house of spirituality and long distance travels. If you’re looking for partnership, taking a journey to a faraway place and visiting a temple can align you with your life partner. Saturn is in Pisces, so traveling by water can also activate this part of your life. Saturn is slow, and its current retrograde indicates that you could again return to this place if you make this trip now. You might have to repeat your steps 3 times. Married Cancerians can use this time to travel with their spouse and affirm their commitment to each other.

Leo:

Rahu and Ketu, the North and South nodes are on your axis of partnership and self. Use this time for spiritual practice and all kinds of personal care, Leo. It’s a great time for a makeover. Venus will grace your attractiveness as it is transiting your first house. If you are in a relationship or marriage, your partner will be thinking creatively. Try new things together. Channel the Rahu energy by thinking outside the box. If you’re looking for a partner, you are likely to meet someone from a faraway place. Keep honesty and truth at the forefront of your mind as you get to know them.

Virgo:

You might be feeling invisible these days, Virgo, as the solar eclipse happened in your first house. But trust me when I say that eyes will be on you, so relax and shine as your true self. Even your own ruling planet, Mercury will be there with the Sun & Moon looking at your house of partnership. Although you might feel that things are moving slowly, have faith and patience with yourself and your mate if you have one. Even if you’re single, trust that your soul mate is working on creating great things for your future. Remind yourself that all things are working together for good.

Libra:

I’m seeing a burst of unexpected gains for you, Libra. Venus, the natural ruler of love and partnership will be gracing your 11th house of wishes and prosperity. Ketu, the South node is there too, so fulfill a good karma by donating and showing generosity to others. Mars, the ruler of your house of partnership is transiting your first house of ‘self’ among other things. This could temporarily cause you to be too self-absorbed. Channel this energy with exercise and be careful not to over-do it. Being extra helpful to your partner is also a good remedy. To foster new connections, remember to be a good listener.

Scorpio:

With Saturn retrograde in your house of romance, it can feel like romance has slowed down. Plus, Venus, your marriage house ruler, is transiting your house of career. You might feel that your sweetheart is too focused on work. Or perhaps, you are too focused on work, but this will soon pass. Have patience that Venus is working on rewards for your future and Ketu, the South node, will help you bring spiritual principles to your work-life and career. Try these karmic remedies. If you’re married, revisit the things you enjoyed in the past. For singles, visit elderly people. They could introduce you to your life partner.

Sagittarius:

Guru Jupiter is blessing your house of marriage and partnership. Venus is gracing your house of spirituality with Ketu, the South node close by. It’s as if they’ve exchanged houses and this brings positive results. But, due to Ketu’s influence, it is especially important to show loyalty and devotion to your partner or spouse. Singles, seeking a partner, might find themselves with a choice of more than one prospect. For best results, adhere to your moral code, Sagittarius. Ketu would say, “Take your time and wisely choose the person with whom you have true friendship and spiritual connection. Let go of what doesn’t serve your highest good”.

Capricorn:

Chandra, the Moon, (ruler of your marriage and partnership house) is with Sun and Mercury, transiting the house of temples, gurus and long-distance travels. In your 8th house of in-laws and unearned income, Venus and Ketu are heading right toward each other. This tells me that in order to support the happy relationship part of your life, your focus should be on learning about non-material things. Try these karmic remedies for improved results. Focus on love, kindness and spiritual principles. A pilgrimage to a temple or ashram will enhance love, prosperity and improve relationships with in-laws at this time. Singles looking for partnership should practice the same.

Aquarius:

Your marriage house ruler, the Sun, is temporarily hiding during this new moon solar eclipse, but Venus, the natural karaka of beauty love and partnership, is in your house of marriage. Jupiter expands your fifth house of romance and speculative income, providing an amazing opportunity to make your dreams come true, Aquarius. Ketu is also visiting the house of relationship and this can create some distance. To make good on the Venus-Ketu situation, married and committed couples should practice engaging in loving conversation and make sure not to take their partner for granted. Unattached singles still have a lovely window of opportunity to meet someone very special.

Pisces:

Mercury, the ruler of your 7th house of marriage and partnership is right there, at home with the Sun and Moon. Married people and singles looking for love have a special advantage for the next 4 weeks, as these important celestial bodies are conspiring in your favor. It’s like they want to help you to overcome obstacles to union. To support the positive energies that are working for your marriage, just be sure to keep the lines of communication kind, clear and open. With Mars in your 8th house, stepping up and performing a selfless and heroic deed for your in-laws will do wonders to avoid conflicts.

A few years ago, I attended an intensive week-long leadership training program which focused on over 20 core leadership principles and how every leader must understand and implement them. One of the leadership principles taught in this program was “Release the Outcome”. Simply put, this principle told us that good leaders must make decisions based on doing the right thing – without being attached to what the outcome might be.

The striking similarity of this principle with one of the key teachings of the Bhagavad Gita was not lost on me. It was amazing that a western leadership course had this profound Gita principle embedded in it. The Bhagavad Gita speaks very clearly about the idea of releasing attachment to outcomes. This concept is often referred to as “Karma Yoga” which is essentially the yoga of selfless action. We are required to perform our duty by focusing fully on our actions, without clinging to any expectations. After all, the outcome depends on not just our action, but also on many factors beyond our control.

This principle is not just philosophical – it has practical applications in leadership and life. For instance:

A CEO faced with a difficult layoff decision may decide to treat the employees fairly and with dignity by communicating transparently, instead of obsessing over how the press or stock price might react.

A political leader might decide to propose a necessary reform because it’s the right legislation for the long-term good of the country and the public, even at the risk of possibly losing an election.

A manager giving negative feedback to an underperforming employee could focus on being honest and provide constructive feedback, without worrying about how this might affect his or her popularity.

I am not sure how many corporate or political leaders take this principle to heart – too much time is usually spent in weighing every possible result before taking any action. Decisions are delayed, overanalyzed and sometimes never made at all.

As the Bhagavad Gita reminds us: “You have a right to perform your prescribed duties, but you are not entitled to the fruits of your actions…”. If all leaders made decisions based on the Bhagavad Gita’s teachings, acting with integrity and detachment, surely this world would be a much better place.

By Michelle Sareen, a.k.a. Devika Meera

The following horoscopes are given based on traditional Vedic sign calculations and not the Western sun-sign. These should be read according to your rising sign (Lagna) or Moon sign in the Vedic Sidereal Zodiac.

Aries:

If your heart and karmic actions are in the right place, Aries, unexpected blessings of prosperity will come during the first 3 weeks of this month. Donate part of your unexpected gains. Karmic planetary transits demand this for the next year or more. Love and blessings come through family values and eating healthy. After August 23rd, give special attention to home, mothers and kids. Playing with children in order to keep them safe is a great way to channel the strong Mars energy. Keep the peace with romantic partners by engaging in fun sports together. Courage and strength will be on your side later in the month.

Taurus:
Beauty and love are prominent for you, Taurus, but these days, you might be inclined to think outside the box. Your recent style change can surprise those who know you well. But be sure to embrace the new you. Due to retrograde transits, career and salary issues might have to be revisited. Be extra cautious and analytical with paperwork through the entire month, especially if you are inclined to move or change residence. Expenses might occur in the realm of real estate and vehicles. Taking extra care of your mother, mother figures, or even taking care of cows is a good karmic remedy for you these days.

Gemini:

Expansive Jupiter is transiting in your ascendant sign, Gemini, lighting up your mind with thoughts of children, partnership, and spirituality. Be careful not to overeat in temples and at ritual ceremonies for the next year, as Rahu is sitting in your 9th house. These two transits could cause you to gain weight in the long term. In the short term, make sure you eat only healthy, properly cooked food. You are likely to overspend on luxuries before the August 23rd New Moon. Generosity with neighbors and siblings is a good karmic remedy for you these days and will help you to avoid conflicts with them.

Cancer:

You have a lot on your mind this whole month, Cancerian, and you might feel pressure from people close to you. Mercury starts out retrograde in your ascendant, and Mars is transiting your 3rd house of communication. So, it’s super important to be careful in matters of driving and speech. Be cautious and kind with your words. Take advantage of this period while health regimens will be extra effective for your general well-being. Mercury and Saturn are both retrograde, so you might need to restructure your plans, especially those related to institutions and faraway places. It’s okay and natural to change your mind, especially until mid-August.

Leo:

Using the talents that come from your hobbies will benefit your professional life, Leo. With Venus in your 10th house, conjunct Uranus, you are bound to think outside the box. Channel this unconventional inclination in a constructive way, rather than expressing blind rebellion. Bring flowers to your job or to an authority figure. Unexpected gains are coming, but the process might require working extra hard. Consider that a remedy. Your feelings of inner conflict and self-sacrifice will soon subside as Mars moves out of your ascendant sign. For the next year or so, it’s a good idea to focus on non-material things, like spirituality and general health.

Virgo:

Your recent sacrifices and helping others have probably been difficult and draining, Virgo, but they are a karmic necessity for you at this time. Flowing with it will make it easier. Service with a smile is your remedy. You are a natural healer. Rewards and expansion of your career are bound to become apparent and manifest soon if they haven’t already. Gratitude and spiritual practice are key to feeling fulfilled. Long-time wishes can be fulfilled, as long as you show up for the service and work that the Universe requests of you. Mars is moving to your first house, so take extra care when driving. Don’t speed.

Libra:

You’re probably experiencing pressure from parents or authority figures, Libra. But that should ease up after the new moon on August 23rd, when Venus and Mercury come to lighten things up in your 10th house. Try to mitigate risks in your 5th house matters, which have to do with children, romance, and speculative income. Rahu is there for about one more year. It is safer to channel the creative energy by thinking outside the box and engaging in artful activities. Sing, dance, paint, draw, or play a musical instrument to improve the results of this transit. Donating to schools and temples is especially good karma these days.

Scorpio:

It’s time to do some soul-searching, dear Scorpio, as lately, you might be experiencing your tendency to self-sabotage. This happens when you are in autopilot mode instead of taking wakeful, deliberate actions. I recommend journaling. Keep your journal private. In writing, reflect on what is not working for you in your life. Ask yourself how you subconsciously act against your own best interest. Mercury and Venus will visit your 9th house of higher wisdom in August. This is the perfect opportunity for spiritual growth and inner reflection, especially after the August 23rd new moon. Practicing this will give you more peace, and things will naturally get better.

Sagittarius:

You might find that your attention is overly focused on relationships these days, Sagittarius, but channeling energy in the following areas might help to balance things out for you. In case your neighbors or siblings are asking a lot from you, or if you are expecting a lot from them, err on the side of generosity. Taking a generous stance with them will work as a karmic remedy for you at this time… whatever the issue is. Extra housecleaning will ease Saturn’s demands on your 4th house. Pay attention to those things you might normally neglect. Postpone long-distance trips if possible and donate to a temple.

Capricorn:

Venus is lighting up your house of romance and creativity these days, Capricorn. If you’re married, you could spice things up a bit by courting your partner the way you used to when you first got together. If you’re single, you have a nice window of opportunity to find romance. Venus brings beauty and luxury too. So invite this energy by dressing well and helping women. In case of excessive visits from your relatives and in-laws, couples should gently and politely make space for your privacy. Being kind and generous to family and helping out neighbors and siblings is a good remedy for the current planetary transits.

Aquarius:

The best way to remedy the conflicts in your house of partnership, Aquarius, is to engage in safe sports or fun competitive games with your partner. This is a fun and positive way to channel the energy of Mars in your 7th house. Since Ketu is there too, practice meditation together or separately. This will allow Ketu to express itself in the most positive and helpful way. Jupiter wants to expand your house of romance, creativity, and possibly children. Remain patient with relatives when handling issues of family assets. Honesty is of utmost importance. Bring flowers home for yourself and for sick people later in the month.

Pisces:

I know it’s not easy for you these days, Pisces, as Saturn is transiting your ascendant sign. So, it’s important to keep your mind in the most positive state with uplifting input. Gratitude affirmations will definitely help. I suggest 108 affirmations of gratitude every night, just before sleep. Keep conversations positive and kind. Gentle yoga and walking could be highly beneficial. Use your talents to decorate your home. Include symbols of spiritual wisdom like an inspirational book or a picture of your favorite teacher or Guruji. Prepare your home for visitors. Be humble in your attitude, especially to hard-working people who are in the service of others.

My wife Aruna and I went on a trip this summer that was more than just travel. It wasn’t just a vacation or temple visit. It was a spiritual homecoming. We experienced a renewal of our faith. It served as a profound reminder of the significance of belonging to a timeless culture that continues to inspire, despite being thousands of miles away from India.

We visited the awe-inspiring BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham Mandir in Robbinsville, New Jersey—the largest Hindu temple in the United States and one of the most spectacular expressions of Hindu architecture, art, and devotion anywhere in the world.

A Monument of Devotion Built by Volunteers

The BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham, constructed between 2011 and 2023, is more than a temple—it is a testament to the power of faith and selfless service. It was built not by contractors or government grants, but by the loving hands of 12,500 volunteers from across the U.S., who offered millions of hours of their time, energy, and devotion.

These were not just temple-goers. Many were professionals—engineers, doctors, software developers, business owners, and students—who set aside their careers temporarily to build something sacred for the next generation. This was karma yoga in action.

When we learned that some of these volunteers took an entire month off from their high-paying jobs just to offer seva (selfless service), we were both humbled and moved. Who does that in today’s world? The answer is simple: those who are deeply inspired by the teachings and legacy of Pramukh Swami Maharaj and Mahant Swami Maharaj and the values of the BAPS Swaminarayan tradition.

The Grand Scale and Sacred Design

The Akshardham Mandir, situated on a sprawling 183-acre campus, stands tall and proud, boasting dimensions of 255 feet wide, 345 feet long, and 191 feet high. Its grand design follows the ancient Hindu architectural scriptures known as the Shilpa Shastras, which govern the science of temple construction.

The temple includes

1 central sanctum and 12 sub-shrines

9 shikhars (spire-like towers) and 9 pyramidal shikhars

13 sanctums housing divine murtis (sacred images)

The largest elliptical stone dome ever built in traditional architecture

As we stood at the base of the Mandir and looked up, it was impossible not to feel the sacred geometry—the balance between the earthly and the divine, the physical and the spiritual.

Carved Culture: A Living Library in Stone

Every inch of Akshardham is rich with symbolism, history, and spiritual wisdom. It’s as though the entire cultural and moral fabric of Hinduism has been carved into stone.

10,000 statues and decorative elements fill the walls and pillars.

151 carved Indian musical instruments and numerous classical dance forms adorn the exteriors and domes.

338 symbolic depictions of Hindu stories illustrate teachings from the Ramayana, Mahabharata, and Puranas.

78 statues of saints reflect the soul of dharmic living.

30 stone murals depict eternal values like satya (truth), daya (compassion), and tyag (sacrifice).

548 intricately carved pillars and 235 mandapams (canopied halls) provide a visual and spiritual feast.

This temple is not only a place for puja—it is a classroom, museum, and scripture built in solid stone.

Global Materials, Eternal Values

BAPS Sevak Ashokbhai with Raj Shah

The temple’s construction involved 1.9 million cubic feet of stone, sourced from around the globe, symbolizing the unity of creation.

Marble from Greece, Italy, and Turkey

Limestone from Bulgaria and Turkey

Granite from India and China

Sandstone from India

Other decorative stones are sourced from Europe, Latin America, and Asia.

It was a deeply spiritual experience to walk through a structure that united divine purpose with global materials—each block shaped with reverence by artisans and volunteers.

The Brahma Kund: Sacred Waters of the World

Among the many remarkable features is the Brahma Kund, a sacred stepwell constructed in traditional Indian style. What makes it special is that it contains water from over 300 bodies of water around the world, including the Ganges, Yamuna, Godavari, and holy rivers from India, as well as water from all 50 states in the U.S.

This stepwell serves as a metaphor for global unity, sanctity of water, and spiritual oneness, reminding us that the sacred resides in every corner of the earth.

Sustainable Spirituality

BAPS didn’t just build a spiritual structure—it also built an eco-conscious future. The Akshardham campus features:

A solar farm producing clean, renewable energy

Use of fly ash concrete to reduce environmental impact

Over 100,000 trees and plants are growing onsite.

Part of BAPS’s global initiative to plant over 2 million trees worldwide

This blending of spirituality with sustainability reflects a deeper Vedic principle: Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam—the world is one family.

Guided with Heart: Ashokbhai from Orlando

One of the most beautiful parts of our experience was being guided by Ashokbhai from Orlando, a long-time sevak in the BAPS community. His humility, depth of knowledge, and passion for Bhagwan Swaminarayan brought every statue and pillar to life.

Ashokbhai didn’t just walk us through the structure—he walked us through stories of seva, sacrifice, and love. He talked about how volunteers worked through heat, cold, and long hours—not for recognition, but out of reverence. His stories helped us understand that this temple wasn’t merely constructed—it was offered.

A Divine Dialogue: Meeting Pujya Chaitanyamurti Swami

Raj Shah with Pujya Chaitanyamurti Swami

During our visit, I had the rare privilege of a one-on-one meeting with Pujya Chaitanyamurti Swami ji. Before becoming a swami, he had been a very successful IT engineer—a professional life that many would envy. And yet, he left that world behind for one of selfless service.

I asked him two questions that had been on my heart:

First, how is it that BAPS inspires thousands of volunteers, including working professionals and business leaders, to take time off from their careers for seva?

Second, what motivates young Hindu children and teenagers—many born in the US—to serve so naturally and joyfully, even without being told?

Swamiji’s answer was deeply moving. He said that the credit goes entirely to the life examples of Pramukh Swami Maharaj and Mahant Swami Maharaj. Their lives have been blueprints of humility, simplicity, and tireless service. Swamiji shared that he had personally witnessed Pramukh Swami Maharaj washing dishes in the kitchen, unrecognized, unnoticed, and content.

He said, “When you witness your guru serving with such humility, you don’t require instruction.” You want to follow. You want to offer. That’s why even the youngest children rise instinctively for seva—because the seed of seva has been planted by example.”

That moment with Swamiji was a spiritual awakening in itself. It made me realize that true leadership isn’t about position—it’s about presence.

Youth Seva: Dharma in Motion

Throughout our visit, we saw dozens of young volunteers, many in their teens or early 20s, managing operations—parking, tours, hospitality, food service, audio-visual tech, and more. After Sunday sabha, no one needed to instruct them. They quietly picked up aarti thalis, prepared the prasad line, and greeted elders with folded hands.

This effort is not just volunteerism. This is dharma in motion.

In an era where faith among youth is declining worldwide, BAPS is cultivating a generation of grounded, respectful, purpose-driven Hindu youth. These young minds are not just the future—they are already leaders in spirit.

A Personal Reflection: What Akshardham Meant to Us

As Aruna and I walked through the stone corridors, stood before the towering shikhars, and sat in silence in the sanctum, we felt something that’s hard to put into words. It was more than admiration. It was oneness—with our culture, our ancestors, our dharma, and with a global Hindu community that continues to thrive through seva.

Akshardham Robbinsville is more than a temple. It is a living promise that our faith, culture, and community will continue to flourish, no matter where we are in the world.

It is a legacy in stone, a sanctuary for the soul, and a beacon for every Hindu in the diaspora—especially our children and grandchildren, who now have a sacred space that tells them, “You belong.”

Jai Swaminarayan. Jai Hindu Dharma.
