Editorial July 2016
It seems like I say this every issue, but really this is one of my favorites of the year. Education is undoubtedly an important part of our community, and without it, we would not be as successful and entrepreneurial as we are.
In this issue, we take a look at this year’s National Scripps Spelling Bee winners! Once again, Indian Americans reign with co-winners Nihar Janga and Jairam Hathwar sharing the trophy. Contributor Taniya Talukdar chatted with the families to learn more about what inspires these champions.
A recent book release, Those Immigrants! by Scott Haas is an compilation of interviews with succesful and up and coming Indian Americans. Rina Shah of The Arpan Group interviews the author and explores the common themes shared by many of these success stories.
