About the Author:Nilam Ramchandani is a seasoned finance professional and passionate advocate for cultural and educational excellence. She holds a Bachelor’s in Finance from Barry University (graduating with a 4.0 GPA in just 2.5 years) and an MBA in Finance & M&A from the University of Miami.
Having held key finance roles at Sony Pictures, Ryder Systems, World Trade Securities, Darden Restaurants, and Entertainment Benefits Group, Nilam later served as Head of Finance and Strategy at AnalytIQ, providing CFO services and strategic financial leadership.
As a mother of 5-year-old twin girls and a 3-year-old son, Nilam wanted a school that not only upheld high academic standards but also taught her children about their Hindu heritage and culture. While there are schools for the Muslim, Jewish, Catholic, and Christian communities in the U.S., she couldn’t find a school serving the Hindu community. Driven by this need, Nilam founded Gurukul Academy, the first K-8 Hindu school in the U.S. Her mission is to provide a space where children can receive top-tier education while embracing and celebrating Sanatan Dharma.
