After completing The Sky Is Pink with Priyanka Chopra, the actor has now shifted attention to this Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra film where he will be playing a boxer. Amidst that, the actor is expected to have taken off on a trip with girlfriend Shibani Dandekar and his daughters. Soon after that, the filmmaker turned actor shared this fun video from the pool.

Well, let us tell you that it is not from their recent trip. In fact, going by his latest Instagram post, he has shared that he actually dug into his old archives where he found this fun pool video. It is actually a throwback video where the actor is seen bonding with his daughter in Koh Samui. It is a boomerang video of Akhtar having a playful time with her in the pool. Here, have a look:

This is not the first time where the father-daughter duo has taken off on a trip together. In the past too, Farhan has shared many photos of their adventurous holidays which involves trekking, cycling etc. Akira was born to Farhan and his first wife Adhuna Babani. The couple, who are now estranged, also has another daughter named Shakya. Farhan announced his separation from wife Adhuna a few years ago and they decided to end their 16 year of marriage amicably. Farhan is currently in a relationship with VJ – actor Shibani Dandekar.

The Kapil Sharma Show: Sidharth Malhotra admits flunking 9th grade, Parineeti Chopra wants to kidnap Saif Ali Khan

Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra are set to impress us with their crackling chemistry in Jabariya Jodi. The trailer has been getting rave response and well, the couple is not leaving any stone unturned to make sure that the movie is promoted well on all platforms.

They recently came on The Kapil Sharma Show for the same and entertained the masses with some interesting anecdotes.

Sidharth admitted that he flunked ninth grade. He said, “Yes, my attention was diverted by girls. But this (the failure) turned out to be a positive thing in my life as I was eventually moved to a co-ed school where I learned better. And I passed my 10th and 11th grade with good grades.”

Later, they were asked who they want to kidnap in Bollywood as their movie is based on kidnapping grooms for marriage. Parineeti said, “Saif Ali Khan. I have even told Kareena Kapoor how much I admire Saif.” Sid claimed that he would abduct Kareena’s son, Taimur.

Mission Mangal Trailer Launch: Akshay Kumar RESPONDS to Kangana Ranaut and media controversy

Akshay Kumar, on Thursday, launched the trailer of the much-awaited space film Mission Mangal with his team Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Nithya Menen, and Sharman Joshi. During the trailer launch, the actor was questioned about the controversy that happened between Kangana Ranaut and PTI journalist Justin Rao

Speaking to the media during the trailer launch, Akshay Kumar said, “Humein aapki bahut zarurat hai (We all need you). The relation between media and an actor is very deep; like husband and wife. There will always be some nok-jhonk [tussle]. I just hope that it gets resolved because we need you [media] a lot. It is only through you that whatever I have to say reaches the people and vice versa. I hope this misunderstanding gets solved. I am not too clued in into this matter because I was in London. It is unfortunate, but I hope everything gets solved.”

A few days ago during JudgeMentall Hai Kya song launch, Kangana Ranaut ended up in a feud with PTI journalist for bashing Manikarnika. When the journalist introduced himself during Q&A, she said, “You were bashing Manikarnika. Have I done anything wrong by making a film on nationalism? You called me a jingoistic woman who is making a film on nationalism.”

To which the journalist replied, “You cannot intimidate a journalist because you are in a power position.”

Emraan Hashmi kicks off the shoot of the Bollywood remake of the Malayalam horror film Ezra!

While he has been dabbling between production, web-shows and films, Emraan Hashmi has now shifted attention to a new venture. The actor seems to have added another horror film in his repertoire which already boasts of films like Raaz series and Ek Thi Daayan. The actor has not only been roped in but he has already kicked off his next film, titled Ezra. The film is a remake of a Malayalam film by the same name that featured Prithviraj Sukumaran as the leading man.

Directed by Jay Krishnan who also directed by the Malayalam venture, Ezra has already gone on floors and the film is expected to be extensively shot in Mauritius. The film will be produced by T-Series and recently, the official Twitter handle of the company posted a series of photos from the mahurat day including the clapperboard. Here, have a look:

The original Malayalam film featured South-Bollywood actress Priya Anand as the leading lady. It is yet to be seen if she has been cast in the same role in the Hindi remake too. The cast and other details of the Bollywood film are currently being kept under wraps.

For the uninitiated, Ezra is based on the evil spirit of dybukk who is trapped in a box and when it is set free by mistake, it attempts to destroy a couple and their unborn baby.

Mission Mangal Trailer Launch: Akshay Kumar speaks up on his film’s clash with John Abraham’s Batla House and Prabhas’ Saaho

Akshay Kumar, on Thursday, launched the trailer of India’s very own space mission film Mission Mangal with his team of space scientists including Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Nithya Menen, and Sharman Joshi. While the multistarrer is set to release on Independence Day, the film will be facing off with two films – John Abraham’s Batla House and Prabhas starrer Saaho.

Speaking about the same at the trailer launch event, Akshay Kumar talked about why in future it will become a major problem with many films clashing at the box office. The actor said, “In a year, more than 180 Hindi films release and then there are about 30 to 40 Hollywood films as well so there would be a lot of congestion. In the future, there will be more problems as maybe at that time four to five films may clash at the same time. There is no element of surprise in this and we should not blame anybody or blame each other and just go along with it.”

Mission Mangal is an incredible true story based on a Mars mission accomplished by a team of scientists at India’s Space Research Organization (ISRO). While we know who is playing which character, we are waiting to watch the trailer to see how this team comes together to achieve a seemingly impossible task of reaching Mars in India’s maiden attempt, making it the only country in the world to set this record.

When asked why he encourages more patriotic films, Akshay said, “If such a great script comes to me, how can I not be a part of it? There is such a great cast. Bringing five female actors together was such a difficult task. I had to do the film.”

Mission Mangal is based on a true story. This is director Jagan’s first film. I have known him for a very long time. He used to assist AR Murugadoss and R Balki too. He is the guy who brought the story to me and told me all about ISRO. I don’t know if our film will be a hit or not, but as I have told all my colleagues, we will always be very proud of the film. I have done around 150 films, but this is the film I am most proud of,” says Akshay Kumar.

Sonam Kapoor nails the Saree Twitter trend, albeit with an adorable twist [Read On]

A fashion challenge that has become quite the trend on Twitter is the Saree Twitter Challenge! Our fashionista Sonam Kapoor, obviously took an interest to it, and decided to take it up. It doesn’t come as a surprise that she nailed it but we were more impressed with is the small twist that this actress decided to add to it. Sonam decided to share a before – after photos and we must say, they are very pretty!

Some would be aware that Sonam Kapoor has experimented with sarees on more than one occasion and has pulled off some risky outfits like pant-saree with panache in the past. However, for the Saree twitter challenge, the actress shared a photo of a beautiful and authentic saree with an off shoulder blouse. Sonam was seen sporting this saree during the post marriage functions after she tied the knot with businessman Anand Ahuja. Along with that, she also shared another photo from her childhood where she is looking adorable sporting a colourful saree. Fans of the actress seem to have loved the before-after twist that she added to the Saree Twitter challenge.

On the work front, Sonam Kapoor will next be seen in the film The Zoya Factor that is the film adaptation of the Anuja Chauhan novel by the same name. The actress will be seen in the role of an advertising executive who turns out to be a lucky charm for the Indian cricket team. Jimmy Sheirgill’s Family of Thakurganj has a Dabangg connection

Back in 2010 when Dabangg had released, it had brought an altogether new grammar of storytelling in current Bollywood. An unabashed entertainer which relied on heavy duty dialogue-baazi, it brought back the old world of ‘masala’ entertainers back in Hindi cinema. The architect of this style was veteran writer Dilip Shukla who then also went on to write Dabangg 2 and is also behind Dabangg 3 which is currently on floors.

Well, while one waits to see what has the writer has in store for all the Salman Khan fans for the Christmas release, closer home he has already designed something powerful which is set to hit the screens this Friday. The film in question is Family of Thakurganj which features Jimmy Sheirgill and Mahie Gill in the lead with Saurabh Shukla in a powerful avtar.

“If the promo is any indication, Dilip Shukla has nailed it all over again when it comes to bringing on rustic drama for screen,” an insider says, “There are so many city films being made in Bollywood but when it comes to the interiors, they have their own flavour. What better way to narrate such tales than to have a writer who understands this milieu and has it in him to create the right mood and atmosphere for the rooted storytelling.”

A veteran in the business, Dilip Shukla has also written for 90s superhits like Ghayal, Damini, Ziddi and Mohra to name a few. While he has dabbled with comedies too, the most notable being Andaz Apna Apna, it is his prowess with powerful dramas that has ensured the likes of Dabangg franchise as well as standalone films like Jai Ho and now Family of Thakurganj.

“The core plot of Family of Thakurganj is such that you needed a veteran in the business to be at the helm of writing. He had to be someone who understands the world of UP and Bihar and is well abreast with the socio-political milieu in this part of India. If you go in the interiors, you would find that there is still a lot of weight being attached to the very title of ‘Thakur’. The film’s core plotline revolves around the power games, crime and family relationships, and Dilip Shukla has ensured that there are dramatic high points at many junctures,” our source adds.

With the film releasing this Friday, it would be interesting to see how this all turns out to be for screen.

Dharmendra apologizes after trolling his wife Hema Malini on her sweeping video!

Yesteryear actress turned politician Hema Malini, who once again came to power this year post the Lok Sabha Elections 2019, decided to kick off a swachhta drive campaign as a part of the famous Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan. She along with BJP Minister Anurag Thakur decided to go on a sweeping spree and was spotted with the broom around the Parliament. After this photo took the social media by storm, netizens started massively trolling the actress and one of them even quizzed Dharmendra if she does this at home too, to which the veteran actor had a witty response. But soon enough, his witty response possibly turned into a nightmare for him, as recently, he once again took to Twitter to speak on the matter and apologized for his comments.

Followed by the photos of Hema Malini sweeping at the swachhta drive campaign went viral, Dharmendra had then passed a comment saying, “Haan films main, mujhe bhi anadi lag rahi thi. Mainne magar bachpan mein apni maa ka hamesha haath bataya hai. Main jhaadu mein maahir tha. I love cleanliness.” The actor stated that he feels that Hema too is a little new to sweeping but he asserted that he used to help his mom during his younger days and that he was a master at sweeping since he loved cleanliness!

 

While he posted this on Twitter, it seems that it didn’t go down well with many. Because later, Dharmendra also apologized by sharing one of his throwback images of him folding his hands and asking for forgiveness! “Kuchh bhi keh baithta hoon ……. kuchh bhi KI bhawna ko…. . Kuchh bhi samajh baithte hain yaar log …..TWEET BADSHAH.kuchh bhi kiya …..baat jhaadu ki bhi ….tauba tauba …..kabhi na karon ga… humka maafi dai do maalik,” he said on Twitter. The actor asked for forgiveness adding that he would never tweet anything about the broom or sweeping ever again!

Family of Thakurganj gets a rocking premiere

The makers of Jimmy Sheirgill-Mahie Gill starrer Family of Thakurganj held a premiere last night which was loved by one and all. The audience clearly lapped up the action thriller and the various twists and turns in the film kept them at the edge of their seats throughout.

The entire cast including Saurabh Shukla, Nandish Singh and Supriya Pilgaonkar, besides Jimmy and Mahie, was present at the premiere and were seen interacting with each other. Jimmy and Saurabh clearly get along like a house on fire and the dialogue-baazi between them was super. They have the audience in splits in no time. It was also amazing to see Mahie and Jimmy share the screen again after Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster. It is safe to say that their chemistry, that has always been great, has only improved with time.

Family of Thakurganj has been produced by Ajay Kumar Singh under the banner of Lovely World Entertainment. The film also features Pawan Malhotra, Pranati Rai Prakash, Mukesh Tiwari, Yashpal Sharma, Manoj Pahuwa and Sudhir Pandey in pivotal roles.

Lovely World Entertainment in association with Pen Studios presents Family of Thakurganj. The film has been produced by Ajay Kumar Singh and directed By Manoj K Jha. The creative director of the film is Prince Singh and the project advisor is J Nutan Punkaj. It’s a Pen Marudhar Worldwide release, which will hit screens on July 19.

Kriti Sanon talks about learning Marathi lingo for Panipat: The Great Betrayal

Kriti Sanon recently wrapped up the shoot for Panipat: The Great Betrayal, a period drama film based on the third battle of Panipat. The movie stars Arjun Kapoor who will be playing the role of Peshwa Sadashiv Rao Bhau while Kriti Sanon will be seen playing his wife, Parvati Bai. Since the movie is based around a portion of Indian History and the Marathas, the actors were required to learn Marathi to a certain extent for this Ashutosh Gowariker directorial.

When a fan asked her about her prep for the film in an exclusive fan’s questions segment with Bollywood Hungama, she said, “Panipat will always be special because Parvati Bai is my first character that was alive at some point in history. That just makes it so special since it is a real character.” She also spoke about how fun it was to work with Arjun Kapoor for the first time and they had a lot of fun on sets. Speaking about learning Marathi, she said, “Since I’m from Delhi and I’m a Punjabi girl, it was really different for me to see myself in a Marathi avatar. For the character, I had to learn a little bit of the language since I was not required to talk much in Marathi, Panipat being a Hindi film. I wanted to make sure that I’m pronouncing the words correctly to add the touch of authenticity and flavour I had to learn certain lingos, and say a few sentences here and there. We had a dialect coach to help us work on our pronunciation.”
