New Faces to watch in 2020
As far as new talent is concerned 2019 gave us actors as varied as Siddhant Chaturvedi, Meezaan Jaffrey and Ananya Pandey. 2020 has its own share of new acting talent to look forward to. And here they are.
1. Riva Kishan/ Priyaank Sharma (Sab Kushal Mangal): They are chips off the old block with a talented parent each to pump up their credentials. Riva is Ravi Kishan’s spontaneous fiery daughter whereas Priyaank has a certain thehrao about him, just like his dignified talented mother Padmini Kolhapure. Together they promise to be fire and ice on screen.
2. Rukhsar Dhillon/ Sunny Kaushal (Bhangra Paa Le): Ebullient, unstoppable… Rukhsar Dhillon promises to be the lal mirchi of 2020. And Vicky Kaushal’s brother has already been seen giving a confident performance alongside Akshay Kumar in Gold. Bhangra Paa Le could catapult this pair into an enviable topspot.
3. Alaya Furniturewala in Jawani Jaaneman: Pooja Bedi’s daughter Alaya conveys the kind of chic magic that we saw the other Alia create in Student Of The Year. Is this Alaya going to be as formidable in her screen appearance as the previous one? We will soon know. Apparently the girl has stood up to seasoned star-actors in her debut film like Saif and Tabu with not a trace of self-consciousness.
4. Reem Shaikh (Gul Makai): A television actress, Reem Shaikh gets a dream launch in this bio-pic where she plays the youngest Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai.
5. Shalini Pandey (Jayeshbhai Jordaar): Arjun Reddy’s softspoken co-star to Vijay Deverakonda is all set for her Hindi debut opposite Ranveer Singh in a film to be co-produced by Yash Raj films. It can’t get more posh than this.
6. Manushi Chillar (Prithiviraj): After a prolonged period of deliberation Miss World 2017 has been roped in to play the lead in Chandraprakash Diwedi’s lavish historical costume drama with the invincible Akshay Kumar as her co-star. Safe landing.
Hardik Pandya gets engaged to girlfriend Natasa Stankovic, see photos
It was certainly a great beginning to 2020, for Hardik Pandya. The cricketer announced his engagement with girlfriend, Serbian actor Natasa Stankovic. He went down on his knees on a yacht, and a small, cosy celebration followed. On Hardik’s Instagram handle, we also came across photos of the two having their moment of bliss while a bunch of friends clap and sing. “Mai tera, Tu meri jaane, saara Hindustan. 01.01.2020 #engaged,” he wrote.
One of the first people to drop congratulatory comments was Virat Kohli. “Congratulations H. What a pleasant surprise.. Wish you guys great times ahead. God bless,” his comment reads.
Natasha, whose first stint in Bollywood was with Prakash Jha’s Satyagraha, rose to fame with Badshah’s music video ‘DJ Waley Babu’. She has appeared is a number of item songs including ‘Mehbooba’ from Fukrey Returns and ‘Zindagi Meri Dance Dance’ from Daddy.
Hardik, on the other hand, is recovering from a back injury and will have to give India’s upcoming home series with Sri Lanka and Australia a miss.
Farhan Akhtar reveals the first look of Toofan and it looks fierce and intense!
Farhan Akhtar has been working really hard this past year to make sure he gets into the skin of his character for his next, Toofan. All set to play the role of a boxer on screen for the first time, Farhan has obviously taken his dedication and training up a notch. From following a strict diet to training tirelessly for hours at a stretch, Farhan has made sure to stick to his regime.
After a long wait, Farhan has finally revealed his first look from the film and we’re super excited. He is seen standing in the ring with a lot of determination to win. He posted the first look with the caption, “When life gets harder, you just get stronger. Iss saal #Toofan uthega. Releasing on 2.10.2020”.
Toofan also stars Mrunal Thakur and Paresh Rawal in pivotal roles with Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra as the director and Excel Entertainment as the producer.

Emily Blunt, Noah Jupe, Millicent Simmonds are back for yet another deadly adventure. Kickstarting New Year on a high note, the first trailer of A Quiet Place Part II arrived on Wednesday. In the first part A Quiet Place, for unversed, John Krasinski’s character sacrificed himself to save his family.
Following the deadly events at home, the Abbott family (Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe) must now face the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight for survival in silence. Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path.
A Quiet Place Part II is set to hit the theatres on March 20, 2020.

Abhimanyu Dassani:
Maine Pyaar Kiya star Bhagyashree’s son Abhimanyu Dassani did not make a big fat entry into Bollywood with a big-budget film, but rather took the risk to go with a film that can be termed experimental. Abhimanyu Dassani made his debut with a kick-ass performance (literally) in Vasan Bala’s film Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota. In the film, he plays the role of a person who suffers from congenital insensitivity to pain and therefore the title. Even though the film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2018, the film was released in India in 2019. The actor will next be seen in Nikkama opposite Shirley Setia and also stars Shilpa Shetty.
Sobhita Dhulipala
Sobhita Dhulipala in its true sense owned the year. She got her due recognition with Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kgti’s show Made In Heaven which is available on Amazon Prime. She played the role of a person who went from rags to riches owning a wedding management company. From there the actress went on to feature in the Malayalam movie Moothon, which premiered at TIFF. Even though she had limited screen presence, she made her mark with her character Rosy(prostitute).
Vijay Varma:
His performance in Gully Boy cannot be easily erased from our minds in the near future. So vibrant was his screen presence that the actor easily overpowered the lead actor Ranveer Singh’s entry in the film.
Siddhant Chaturvedi:
Trust Zoya Akhtar to not only make path-breaking films but also to introduce the audience to a performance they deserve to watch. Zoya Akhtar happened to come across Siddhant Chaturvedi at a party and told him to audition for Gully Boy and the rest is history. Siddhant Chaturvedi who comes across as shy person off camera, made a roaring entry into the world of cinema with his character MC Sher.
Viineet Kumar:
Even though he made a mark with Anurag Kashyap’s 2018 film Mukkabaaz and Reema Kagti’s film Gold (2018), it was 2019 and his performance in Saandh Ki Aankh that gave him his due recognition as the performer he is.
Sayani Gupta:
The actress has been part of several movies including Baar Baar Dekho, Parched and Jolly LLB 2, but what probably put her on the map in 2019 is her performance as Gaura in the film Article 15.
Khaali Peeli: Ishaan Khatter shares the first look of his next with Ananya Panday
Ishaan Khatter and Ananya Panday are welcoming 2020 with a new still from their upcoming movie, Khaali Peeli. The duo will be seen sharing the screen space for the first time and their fans are super excited. Both of them are just two films old but their performances make them potential superstars.
