Rajkummar Rao Celebrates Patralekhaa’s Powerful ‘Phule’ Performance

Rajkummar Rao recently expressed heartfelt admiration for his wife Patralekhaa’s exceptional performance in the historical drama Phule. Taking to Instagram, the acclaimed actor described how Patralekhaa’s portrayal of Savitribai Phule filled him with immense pride, emphasizing her relentless hard work and independent rise in the film industry.

In his emotional post, Rajkummar shared stills from the film and reflected on her career journey. He praised her for consistently staying true to her craft, even in an industry known for its fierce competition. “@patralekhaa, watching you bring Savitribai Phule’s character to life was incredibly inspiring. You embraced a role so layered and challenging with such honesty,” he wrote. Rajkummar also reminisced about her past works like CityLights and IC814, calling her a “pure artist” whose performances have repeatedly touched audiences.

He recounted a special moment from IC814, where he called her after a particularly emotional scene, astonished by the depth she brought to her role. Rajkummar stated that few actors today could match the authenticity she consistently delivers.

Sharing a personal moment from the new release, he highlighted how the audience erupted in applause during a scene where Patralekhaa’s character slaps a perpetrator. He described it as an unforgettable, joyous moment both for fans and for him personally.

Rajkummar further applauded her perseverance, writing, “In an industry where shortcuts often lure many, you stood tall, without any external support, and kept pushing your boundaries. I’ve watched you work tirelessly year after year, and seeing you shine now makes me a very proud husband. We are destined companions across every lifetime.”

Directed by Anant Mahadevan, Phule portrays the pioneering lives of Jyotirao and Savitribai Phule, social reformers who fought for education and equality. Pratik Gandhi and Vinay Pathak also feature in the film, portraying Jyotirao Phule and Govindrao Phule, respectively.

Phule officially released in theatres on April 25, garnering early praise for its performances and storytelling.
