Luka Chuppi Sequel Faces Unexpected Production Delay

The romantic comedy sequel Luka Chuppi 2 has been delayed, disappointing fans eager for the follow-up to the 2019 hit. Starring Varun Dhawan and Sharvari, the film was originally expected to enter pre-production in early 2026 but is now postponed by six to eight months.
The main reason for the delay is director Laxman Utekar’s busy schedule. He is currently focused on Eetha, a biographical film on Tamasha performer Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar, starring Shraddha Kapoor. The project requires sensitivity and careful attention, prompting the makers to pause Luka Chuppi 2 to ensure it maintains the charm and quality of the original. Utekar is expected to return to the sequel after Eetha wraps by mid-2026.
Scheduling conflicts with the lead actors have also contributed. Varun Dhawan is committed to Border 2 and Bhediya 2, which involve intense preparation and demanding shoots, while Sharvari is busy with Yeh Prem Mol Liya.
Currently, the sequel remains in the planning phase, with the storyline and production timeline under discussion. Fans must wait longer, but the makers aim to deliver a well-crafted romantic comedy that lives up to expectations.
