‘Udta Teer’ Trailer: Ayushmann Khurrana, Sara Ali Khan!
The trailer for Udta Teer introduces an unusual blend of espionage, comedy, action and mistaken identity, with Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan leading the story. Directed by Akash A Kaushik in his feature directorial debut, the film is set to arrive in theaters nationwide on October 9, 2026.
At the center of the story is Bilal, played by Ayushmann Khurrana, a Pakistani intelligence operative whose life takes an unexpected turn after an explosion leaves him with memory loss. Confused about his own identity and circumstances, Bilal wakes up believing that he is associated with India’s Counter-Terrorism Squad. Sara Ali Khan plays a C-T-S-D officer who remains unaware of Bilal’s actual background, creating the foundation for a series of comic and chaotic situations.
The trailer combines the conventions of a spy thriller with broad comedy. Bilal gradually finds himself behaving like an over-the-top patriot while the people around him remain caught in the confusion surrounding his real identity. His actions reportedly bring both humor and tension to the narrative as he attempts to navigate circumstances that he does not fully understand.
Alongside the comedy, the film promises action-driven sequences, including chase scenes, explosions and moments of high-stakes drama. The makers appear to be balancing these elements with political satire and situational humor, giving the movie a playful take on the espionage genre. Music by Sachin-Jigar and the film’s polished visual presentation further contribute to its energetic tone.
Udta Teer also reunites Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan after their earlier collaboration in Pati Patni Aur Woh, which also featured Rakul Preet Singh and Wamiqa Gabbi. The supporting ensemble includes Rahul Bose, Ram Kapoor, Suhail Nayyar, Gulshan Grover, Mukul Dev, Raghubir Yadav, Brijendra Kala, Sandeep Anand, Supriya Pilgaonkar and Smita Tambe.
Behind the project is another collaboration between Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment. The two production houses have previously joined forces on projects including Kill and Gyaarah Gyaarah. Udta Teer is jointly produced by Karan Johar, Guneet Monga Kapoor, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta and Achin Jain, bringing together a prominent creative and production team for the upcoming release.
