Exclusive: Double treat! After Dabangg and Dabangg 2, Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha will have another ‘Naina’ song in Dabangg 3 too!
Dabangg 3 is becoming hotter by the day! Sonakshi Sinha is known to sizzle and dazzle in any song and her songs ‘Tere Mast Mast Do Nain’ from Dabangg and ‘Naina Bade Dagabaaz Re’ from Dabangg 2 were chartbusters remembered even today. Dabangg films have a song with the Naina connection and this time too for Dabangg 3, people expected another song similar but were surprised when the ballad ‘Naina Lade’ was released and it was picturised on Salman and Saiee Manjrekar. But we have come to know exclusively, that one more ‘Naina’ song will release next week and this time it’s picturised on Salman and Sonakshi. Composed by Sajid Wajid, the song is a beautiful romantic track, shot all over Rajasthan and on a set in Mumbai; it talks about the love between a husband and wife – Chulbul’s ode to his wife Rajjo’s beautiful eyes.
Sonakshi Sinha tells us, “Apart from the full-on dance number ‘Yun Karke’ with Salman, there’s also another romantic song with Salman and me which will release soon. It’s called ‘Habibi Ke Naina’ and because it’s Dabangg there has to be a song on my naina (eyes). It’s a beautiful romance between the husband and wife. Very few films show that. There’s always a premarital romance that people show. I love that they have kept that – the post marital romance alive too in Dabangg 3.”
She also had the iconic dialogue Thappad se darr nah lagta saab in Dabangg. Will she mouth something similar too in Dabangg 3? Sonakshi laughs, “When we said that in Dabangg we never realized what it would become. But maybe I have said something in Dabangg 3 that might become so catchy and people will appreciate it as much. I hope so but when we say such dialogues, we never think of it in that way. For me it was just a line that I said. But now it’s become so famous that they make me say it wherever I go even today. I don’t think any other heroine has had this kind of a powerful dialogue – where they are making you say one dialogue for the last 10 years. That too in your first film so I feel so proud to have something like that.”
After Dabangg 3, the actress is also keen to do another action movie after Akira. “I loved and enjoyed doing it a lot. I want to do another action film so badly but nobody’s writing one. I want to put it out there and tell directors and producers to give me action movies. There’s still so much that I have or want to do – whether it is playing completely a costume drama, a royal character, a queen, a princess, a sports movie, a biopic, there are so many things that I want to do that I haven’t done yet and I feel that I am close to achieving that as well. I would love to do a completely grey character too – a villain or vamp of the movie.”
Subhash K Jha speaks about Panipat
Costume dramas in Indian cinema frequently mistake flamboyance and bombast for nostalgic entertainment. Panipat is the first film of its genre that doesn’t insult history by distorting and subverting it to suit the filmmaker’s massy purposes. Even when Sadashiv Rao Bhau, Gowariker’s 18th century Maratha warrior who dreamt of a united India to fight foreign invasion and who craved for no throne or crown, goes to war he carries himself with the dignity of a peacenik.
One of the film’s finest dialogues—and there many luminously written lines in this fine historical drama—comes when Sadashiv catches his wife trying out the crown in front of the mirror. “Taj pehna nahin jata, pehnaya jata hai,” he gently tells his impulsive brave and devoted wife.
Elsewhere, before he leaves for war with the Islamic invader Ahmad Shah Abdali (Sanjay Dutt, laden with unstoppable ferocity) he tells his wife, “If I die please don’t do Sati.” The line almost seems a dig at Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s elaborate johar climax in Padmaavat.
But then you realize this is Ashutosh Gowariker. Sarcasm and satire are not his style. This filmmaker’s epic dramas are blessed with long sturdy legs that walk that extra mile and talk the talk of national interest vis-à-vis the mistakes of bloodshed we’ve made on the past.
Thoroughly researched and rigorously true to the spirit of Maratha pride, Panipat is a remarkably restrained costume-historical drama. The director avoids all the pitfalls of overstatement even when confronting dramatic crises that call for a war-cry level of drama. He holds back. The relationships are delicately drawn; none more so than the one between Sadashiv Rao Bhau and his feisty wife Parvati. He is a doting loving protective husband. She insists on accompanying him to battle with an I-will-get-bored-alone logic.
Kriti Sanon is a revelation as Parvati. Not only does she have a solid part to play in the drama, she plays it with such disarming intensity, her eyes often tell a thousand untold stories. Kriti simply owns her role. I am afraid, Arjun Kapoor for all his sincerity, falls short of his character’s expectations. Kapoor puts in his all. But somewhere that energy and dynamism needed to portray a Maratha warrior whose heart is as pure as the royal blood that course through it, is missing.
Interesting actors like Mantra (outstanding as the conniving Najib-ud-Daula) and an overweight wheezing Kunal Kapoor (Shashi Kapoor’s son now resembling his father in his later years) come and go in the mottled epic bringing their own charm to bear upon the characters’ doomed destiny. Then there is Zeenat Aman in a cameo as an empowered female ruler. Her heart-to-heart girl-talk with Sanon is lovely to behold.
That vital absence of bellicose energy in the main lead is more than compensated for by Gowariker’s uncompromising vision. Unlike Bhansali who rushes through the historical credibility of his characters, Gowariker is in no hurry to get our attention or hold on it when he does get it. The lengthy narration flows with the inevitability of a determined river that winds its way through craggy mountains certain of where it is going.
The relationships between Sadashiv Rao and the people, who determine his tragic destiny, are mapped with a fertile fluency. The way Rao takes his king Nana Singh Peshwa’s son under his wings reifies the confidence with which this director charts the course of the human relationships in the drama of power politics without exaggerating his characters’ responses to the volatile milieu to which they belong.
Panipat is in many ways a great film. Its greatness lies in telling a tale of vehement valour without toppling over in self-importance. There is a gentle quality to the narrative broken when war finally breaks out at the end. Even then, Gowariker’s opts for a more reined-in treatment of the bloodshed. As the brave Marathas fell to the ground in a bloodied heap I could feel the futility of the savagery.
This is film and filmmaker that know how to respect our past without making frame belch with an over-saturated blast.
EXCLUSIVE: Kichcha Sudeep reveals he and Salman Khan fought for 23 days for the climax of Dabangg 3
It’s a matter of two more weeks before the year’s most awaited film Dabangg 3 makes it to the theatres. While Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha will be seen reprising their respective roles of Chulbul Pandey and Rajjo, there’s an interesting addition to the cast this time. Kannada star Kichcha Sudeep, as we all know, will be seen playing the antagonist in the film. Knowing the fact that Sudeep is quite choosy about the Hindi films he does, it is safe to assume that he got special things to offer us.
He recently opened up during an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Hungama, and gave away interesting titbits about the climax of Dabangg 3. Our minds were blown to learn that he and Salman fought for 23 long days! "The best part of that fight is, till the last, there’s no winner. Both are hitting each other like madness. It’s all fists and wrist and everything. We almost shot sir for about 24-25 days, including the first 2-3 days of dialogues and build-ups and everything. 23 another days, we have fought. It’s the biggest climax ever that I have shot personally," he said.
The actor goes on to add that it wasn’t a stylishly choreographed fight but one where they were actually hitting each other like two ‘animals’. "He hits me, and if I fall down, whatever I get in my hand, that’s my next weapon," he explained, adding that he watched the fight after the final edit, and it looked awesome! Watch the video below.
Sudeep also mentioned how they shot through different weathers and during the last leg of the shoot, they shifted base to the studio. Fighting with Salman for the climax primarily meant him falling down, and there would often be extreme dust, making it impossible for him to breathe!
All of this only makes us more curious for the film! Directed by Prabhu Dheva, Dabangg 3 releases on 20th December.

Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan are presently shooting for a fresh schedule of Brahmastra in Manali. It’s been a few days since they flew to the city, and were greeted with a warm welcome by the locals. We earlier came across a handful of photos from Manali, and could see the snow-clad mountains. It is no cakewalk to film amid such extreme weathers!

Major portions of Brahmastra were already shot across London, Edinburgh, Bulgaria and Varanasi. The team is gradually nearing the completion of the shoot. Earlier slated to release this December, the film was postponed so that enough time can go in post-production, and especially VFX. Brahmastra now comes out in summer 2020.

The Serbia session of Baaghi 3 is proving to be quite taxing as Tiger shoots for the climax. He earlier gave glimpses of his gruelling workout schedule as well as a back full of bruises, thanks to one of the sequences. But all is well that ends well!

Mulan Trailer: Yifei Liu gets in brave action as trailer reveals classic Easter egg
The first full length trailer of Disney’s remake of Mulan is here and it boasts of action, bravery and loyalty. Mulan is an epic journey that will transform her into an honoured warrior and earn her the respect of a grateful nation…and a proud father.
While the makers were clear that they are retelling the story in their own way, the remake does have pay an ode to original classic animation. The full length trailer features a melodious orchestral version of ‘Reflection’ that was performed by Lea Salonga in the animation and has been covered by Christina Aguilera.
Mulan features a celebrated international cast that includes: Yifei Liu as Mulan; Donnie Yen as Commander Tung; Jason Scott Lee as Böri Khan; Yoson An as Cheng Honghui; with Gong Li as Xianniang and Jet Li as the Emperor. The film is directed by Niki Caro. In theatres March 2020. 3D and IMAX 3D
Box Office Prediction – Ashutosh Gowariker’s Panipat to open in Rs. 5-6 crores range, grow well over the weekend
With more and more epic films being made in Bollywood currently, there is good anticipation to check out Panipat. After all, it is directed by Ashutosh Gowariker who has made two of the most authentic films in the period genre, Lagaan and Jodhaa Akbar, and now Panipat is aiming to be the biggest of them all, at least in terms of scale, size and grandeur.
The film boasts of an impressive promo and with veteran Sanjay Dutt stepping in as the antagonist and Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon pairing up as the leads, the film has a good mix of experience coming into play. Though the songs haven’t really covered the distance, the action sequences along with high decibel drama is expected to make this is a good theatrical watch.
From the opening perspective, Panipat should take a fair start in Rs. 5-6 crores range. Of course, a film as big as this deserves much bigger footfalls. However, since there is major competition from Pati Patni aur Woh and also audience attention is being divided, it would boil down to word of mouth making it bigger in days to come. The good news though is that the initial reports for Panipat are impressive and that should allow family audiences to come in good numbers by the time evening shows commence.
Dabangg 3: Salman Khan turns dialogue writer for co-star Kiccha Sudeep
Dabangg 3 is touted to be the biggest movie of this year and to make sure everything is as grand as it can be, the makers roped in Kichcha Sudeep as the villain opposite our beloved Robinhood Pandey.
The audience is thrilled after witnessing Kichcha Sudeep in the trailer fighting Salman Khan. Recently, the actor shared a bare body still from the climax scene with one of his dialogues written on it from the movie.

Actor Sudeep is playing the role of Balli Singh who’s the antagonist of Dabangg 3 and will be seen having some intense fight sequences with Salman Khan which will be a treat to watch on screen.
Sudeep’s work in Makkhi, directed by S.S Rajamouli was appreciated a lot by the audience and the critics, post which the actor did not pursue and do any other Hindi film as the antagonist, it was only until he was offered a role opposite Salman Khan in the blockbuster Dabangg franchise that he decided to come back to Hindi films as the villain.
The much-awaited Dabangg 3 is directed by Prabhu Deva and produced by Salma Khan, Arbaaz Khan and Nikhil Dwivedi under the banner of Salman Khan Films and is slated to release on 20th December, this year.
Ranveer Singh has the wackiest wish for ‘Baba’ Arjun Kapoor ahead of Panipat’s release
Ever since the trailer of Arjun Kapoor’s Panipat came out, the internet has been pointing out many similarities between that and Ranveer Singh’s Bajirao Mastani, set amid a similar backdrop. Trolls might just call Arjun’s character’s appearance heavily ‘influenced’ by that of Ranveer from Bajirao Mastani, but we all know that they are best friends. And this debate has no impact on their famous bromance!

Panipat: Arjun Kapoor turns a master-mind for his men in this still from the film
Arjun Kapoor is gearing up for his upcoming release Panipat, a historical drama based on the third war of Panipat between the Afghans and the Marathas. The film has been hitting the headlines for a while now, for reasons more than one. As he and co-stars Kriti Sanon and Sanjay Dutt promote the film, Ajun also took to social media to share a still of the film with us.
The photo has Arjun, in his Sadashiv Rao Bhau avatar, chalking out a war plan which he explains to his army and others mindfully listen to him. “MARATHA. Bharat Bhoomi Ke Woh Yoddha, Jinke Liye Unka Dharm Aur Karm, Unki Veerta Hai,” he wrote. Check out the photo below.

Brahmastra: Amitabh Bachchan pens a note of thanks for the locals of Himachal Pradesh
Team Brahmastra is presently shooting in a freezing Manali. The temperature is in minus, but no intensity of cold can bog down the actors’ spirit! Lead actors Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt were recently joined by Amitabh Bachchan, whose zeal for work can beat many young actors. The megastar earlier shared a few photos from the sets too.
Bachchan has now taken to social media to thank the locals. In the photo, he wears a traditional Himachali cap that the locals greeted the actors with, when they arrived in Manali. “To the warm loving and ever smiling well wishers from Himachal Pradesh, and in particular from where we work – Manali .. thank you for all the love and generous care ! Wearing their traditional welcome,” he wrote.
Brahmastra, an Ayan Mukerji directorial, has been already shot in Bulgaria, London, Scotland and Varanasi. The film was initially supposed to release this December and was locking the horns with Salman Khan’s Dabangg 3. However, the makers later announced a delay, stating that they wanted to invest more time in the post production, especially VFX. Brahmastra now releases in summer 2020.
Excel Entertainment reunites Bol Radha Bol pair Rishi Kapoor and Juhi Chawla in Sharmaji Namkeen
Excel Entertainment is known to have delivered some of the best content in recent years. Today, Excel announced their upcoming venture starring none other than Rishi Kapoor. The Rishi Kapoor starrer is titled Sharmaji Namkeen.

Pati Patni Aur Woh actor Ananya Panday reveals she can’t deal with a husband like Chintu Tyagi
One-film old Ananya Pandey is now awaiting her second outing Pati Patni Aur Woh to hit the theatres. The remake of Sanjeev Kumar’s 1978 classic with the same name features her as Tapasya Singh, as in the ‘Woh’, in Kartik Aaryan and Bhumi Pednekar’s marital bliss. Ananya has a realisation or two, to take away from the film.
One of them was to realise that she cannot handle a husband like Chintu Tyagi (Kartik’s character in the film). In a recent interview to a leading publication, she opened up on the same, calling herself a loyal person and added that she would expect her loyalty to be reciprocated by her partner.
She also says she has had her share of relationships. Calling herself a romantic person, Ananya emphasised that she was in love with the idea of being love, and should not be judged for having been in a number of relationships already.

Salman Khan might be great as a badass cop with plenty of mischievous ideas, but he is great with children too! We aren’t saying this. Raveena Tandon, who shared a major throwback photo of her daughter Rasha Thadani posing with Salman, vouches that the actor is ‘the best ever with kids’.
The picture has Rasha sitting on Salman’s lap while they both flash a warm smile! ‘How time flies .. down memory lane,when @officialrashathadani was all of 5 years old .. hanging with uncle salman.. must say he is the best ever with kids,’ Raveena wrote. Rasha is a 14-year-old, grown up, pretty girl now. The photo is nearly a decade old, but Salman has changed little!
Also, we do agree that he is great with kids indeed. We often come across pictures and videos of Salman having fun times with nephew Aahil!
The actor is presently into a promotional spree of his upcoming release Dabangg 3, for which he reprises his role of Chulbul Pandey. He has also started working on Prabhu Dheva’s Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai, also starring Randeep Hooda and Disha Patani.
Deepika Padukone reveals why she went public about her mental health
Deepika Padukone, internationally known and respected actresses from Bollywood, has never failed to leave a mark. Be it making a fashion statement or trying to inspire people. She has yet again made a bold move by talking about her story of fighting with depression across a border. In an interview with the New York Times, a reputed American daily, actress Deepika Padukone spoke about mental stress and the loneliness one can feel even when there are a lot of things happening around them.
In a first-person piece, she throws light on how according to W.H.O, 300 million people across the world are facing the same challenge silently and totally unaware of the fact that what is happening to them. She says, “Only a person close to you like your mother will only notice such things.”
When she faced a similar situation a few years back in her life, she was a frontier to address the issue and came up with the foundation called ‘The Live Love Laugh Foundation’. In India where Mental Health is treated as a taboo, Deepika Padukone wants to remove the stigma around the illness and urge people to break the silence about their stories and seek help if required to come out of this situation. Her foundation aims at spreading awareness via various mediums. “Over the past four years the Live Love Laugh Foundation has worked to increase awareness and reduce the stigma associated with mental illness in India. We have run public health campaigns, started school programs, conducted studies, partnered with doctors and launched a mental health care project devoted to rural parts of the country,” she said.
“Our main goal is to remind people that they have a chance for a better life. That is why we named the foundation “Live Love Laugh” — it’s about what a person feels as much as it is about the medical aspect of treating their illness. We are committed to giving hope to those affected by mental illness, and a big part of that consists of teaching people to be kinder to themselves,” Deepika further added.
It is so inspiring to see the actress address this issue at an international level like this.
Salman Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez hang out with Yohan Blake
Heir-apparent Yohan Blake and World 100m and 200m stalwart of Jamaica, who landed in India earlier this week, caught up with Salman Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez on her set today.
Jacqueline Fernandez shared, “Had a great conversation with @yohanblake on his amazing success and all things fitness! Thanks for taking the time to visit our set and all the best for the Olympics 2020. @beingsalmankhan”
They engaged in a freewheeling conversation on entertainment and fitness. Blake played complete sport as Fernandez taught him a few Bollywood dance steps and helped him experiment with some local Mumbai gourmet. Joining them on the set was Salman Khan.

With 6 films in the pipeline and INCREDIBLE box office track record, here’s why Bhumi Pednekar is the ‘female Akshay Kumar’!
On Saturday November 30, an announcement sprang up all of a sudden that turned out as a pleasant surprise. Akshay Kumar took to Twitter to announce that he’ll be presenting with Bhushan Kumar a film titled Durgavati, starring Bhumi Pednekar in the lead. It will be a remake of the 2018 success Tamil horror film Bhaagamathie. The announcement was significant for many reasons. It brought an end to reports of rift between Akshay Kumar and Bhushan Kumar once and for all. Secondly, it proved yet again that Bhumi Pednekar has once again scored a sixer with a film as her in a central lead.
That’s not all. Just 3 days before Durgavati’s announcement, Dharma Productions revealed that their next film with director Shashank Khaitan would star Bhumi Pednekar along with Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani. It’s rare that two films of an actor get announced within a week!
But then Bhumi has always been exceptional. Right now, she holds the feat of having as many as six films in the pipeline – Pati Patni Aur Woh, Bhoot: Part One – The Haunted Ship, Takht, Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare, Shashank Khaitan’s untitled next and Durgavati! She defeats Janhvi Kapoor who earlier held the record of having 5 films plus one track in the Netflix film Ghost Stories. Bhumi meanwhile has only full-length feature films and in each of them, she’s playing a significant part!
Even her box office record has been pretty impressive. Bhumi Pednekar started her acting career in 2015 with Dum Laga Ke Haisha. She played an overweight village girl in this flick that was one of the surprise hits of that year. She then vanished for almost 2 ½ years but then stormed back with power-packed performances in Toilet – Ek Prem Katha and Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, two hit films that released within 3 weeks of each other. Again, she had zero releases in 2018, barring a lovely part in Zoya Akhtar’s story in web film Lust Stories. In 2019, she had four releases. She started the year with Sonchiriya, a dacoit drama that bombed big time despite appreciation. This has been her only flop till date. Her next flick was the Diwali release Saand Ki Aankh. Despite playing an old woman, criticism around the make-up and lack of screens given due to extreme competition, Saand Ki Aankh emerged as a decent success. Two weeks later, she was back to entertain audiences with Bala. She played a dark-skinned, rebellious girl in this Ayushmann Khurrana starrer that entered the Rs. 100 crore club as well. Her final release – Pati Patni Aur Woh – releases this week and seems quite exciting. It co-stars Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday and going by perception and talk among trade, there’s little chance that Pati Patni Aur Woh will not succeed at the ticket window!
Even her forthcoming films seem very promising. She’ll commence 2020 with Bhoot: Part One – The Haunted Ship, a horror film co-starring Vicky Kaushal. Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare is directed by Alankrita Shrivastava, whose 2017 film Lipstick Under My Burkha was not only critical success but commercial too. Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare hence has the chance to succeed. Shashank Khaitan’s film meanwhile will surely be a mass entertainer, going by his previous films – Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania. Takht is an ambitious period drama directed by Karan Johar and also featuring Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal and Anil Kapoor. It’s one of the most anticipated films. And Durgavati is a remake of a successful film and hence, it can also score.
Once Pati Patni Aur Woh releases on Friday, Bhumi will end up having 4 releases in 2019. In 2020, at least 3 of her films will make it to cinemas. That’s an unbelievable record for an actress who’s having proper lead parts in all her films. Keeping in mind this factor and her box office record, one can’t help but draw parallels to Akshay Kumar. He too arrives with at least 2-3 films in a year and almost all of them are successes. Hence, in a lighter vein, it won’t be wrong to call Bhumi Pednekar the ‘female Akshay Kumar’!
A further detailed analysis of her films throws even more interesting aspects. Bhumi Pednekar is a YRF (Yash Raj Films) talent as she debuted with their film. Usually, such actors always have at least couple of films with the banner. But Bhumi has done just one film with them, which was Dum Laga Ke Haisha. Interestingly, three of her upcoming films – Bhoot: Part One – The Haunted Ship, Takht and Shashank Khaitan film – are produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. Not just YRF and Dharma, she also has had the fortune of working with producers like Aanand L Rai, Maddock Films and Ekta Kapoor and directors like Abhishek Chaubey, Amar Kaushik, Alankrita Shrivastava, Shashank Khaitan and above all, Karan Johar!
Needless to say, Bhumi Pednekar is on a roll and if continues this winning streak, she’ll be a one-of-its-kind success story!
