Nawazuddin Siddiqui wraps the New York and Sydney schedules of No Land’s Man, shares photos
Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who is presently working on Bangladeshi director Mostofa Sarwar Farooki’s No Land’s Man, has announced a schedule wrap for the film. He took to Instagram to share a photo of the entire gang, and wished everyone a happy new year.
"It’s a schedule wrap in New York & Sydney for No Land’s Man -Wonderful Experience with the most energetic team #NoLandsMan @farooki_mostofa Wishing Everyone A Very Happy New Year," Nawaz wrote. The film, majorly shot in English, revolves around a South Asian man who happens to cross path with an Australian girl in the US and his life takes strange turns.
No Land’s Man, in 2014, won the Motion Picture Association of America and Asia Pacific Screen Awards’ Script Development fund and was also named the best project at Film Bazaar, India the same year.
Nawazuddin was last seen in Motichoor Chaknachoor, and will be next a part of Bole Chudiyan.

Shehnaaz Gill is one of the most popular contestants of Bigg Boss 13. However, she is not among the one who is famous for the wrong reasons. Vishal and Shefali tried to convince Shefali that Sidharth does not pay her any attention and it is always her who constantly keeps running behind him. Siddharth even asked Shehnaaz to stay away from him and maintain a distance as he cannot take her attitude.
Meanwhile, Shehnaaz talks to Vishal as to how Sid is tired of her and refuses to speak to her. Vishal responds by saying that it was bound to happen as it has been a long time.

It so happened that the two were at a music festival and Ranveer must have been at his enthusiastic best when he had his pants ripped, that too while dancing. Oops! "We were at a music festival in Barcelona. Ranveer was doing a weird dance step while in a pair of loose pants. Suddenly, I heard an unusual sound; his pant had ripped. I was sewing his pants while people danced around me," Deepika said, leaving everyone splits. It looks like being Ranveer Singh’s wife is no mean task. 5 Promising biopics of 2020
Real-life characters are the flavour of the new decade. As everyone grabs every opportunity to play authentic characters, here is my pick of the lot.
1. Deepika Padukone as Laxmi Aggarwal in Chhapaak: So okay, the makers of the film have chosen to change the acid-attack survivor’s name. But there is no doubt that this is Laxmi Aggarwal’s story. And we should celebrate Deepika Padukone’s startling transformation into a scarred but never scared soul in that spirit. Director Meghna Gulzar has worked wonders in the past in real-life stories with Alia Bhatt in Raazi and Irrfan Khan-Konkona Sen Sharma-Neeraj Kabi in Talwar. Can’t wait to see where Meghna takes Deepika.
2. Ranveer Singh as Kapil Dev in ’83: Though Deepika looks nothing like Mrs Kapil Dev; Ranveer Singh’s likeness to the actual cricketer is uncanny. From what I’ve heard Ranveer has given a performance so close to the real person that the only parallel to be drawn is what Ben Kingley did with Mahatma Gandhi years ago. There are other actors playing other real-life cricketers in Kabir Khan’s sports drama about India’s victory at the 1983 World Cup. But make no mistake this is a Ranveer-as-Kapil story.
3. Kangana Ranaut as Jayalalitha in Thalaivi: Admittedly the response to the first promotional video has been far from encouraging. People are scoffing at Kangana’s attempt to look like Tamil Nadu’s Iron Lady. But why must Kangana LOOK like Jayalalitha? Is it not more important to grab the soul of the real person? Let’s wait and see what this mercurial performer has done with one of the most enigmatic politicians of not only our times but all times.
4. Vidya Balan as Shakuntala Devi in Shakuntala Devi: Once during my childhood I had met the Human Computer in Trinidad, West Indies. Her laughter and her rapid-fire conversation is still embedded in my mind. As far as I am concerned Vidya has the range to portray the boisterousness the Maths genius. Vidya also has the most infectious laughter in the film industry. I am already convinced she is the best Shakuntala Devi.
5. Parineeti Chopra as Saina Nehwal in Saina: It’s not easy playing a living character and that too one so much in the public eye. Shraddha Kapoor realized it soon enough when she was unable to play the badminton queen Saina Nehwal. We can’t wait to see what Parineeti does with the role. Will she look convincing? The cork is in Parineeti’s court.
The Kapil Sharma Show: Deepika Padukone reveals the name of the person Ranveer Singh is jealous of
This Sunday, a blockbuster episode of The Kapil Sharma Show awaits the audience as none other than Deepika Padukone, aka Kapil’s Deepu will grace the stage. The phrase ‘life comes to a full circle’ is true in a sense, because Kapil kick-started this show last year and the first guest was Ranveer Singh who had recently married Deepika and made it a point to rub it in. And the ever so graceful Deepika on her birthday (5th January) will be seen on The Kapil Sharma Show as we all revel in the New Year festivities. Apart from promoting her upcoming movie Chhappaak along with Meghna Gulzar, Deepika will be seen spilling beans on a lot of unknown aspects of her relationship with Ranveer.
In a candid conversation, Kapil recalled the day he attended Ranveer and Deepika’s wedding reception. He complained to Deepika about Ranveer mocking him at the wedding. He says, “During the reception, when Deepika was busy attending to the guests, Ranveer walked towards me and did a victory gesture saying Dekh Deepika le gaya mai”. Archana comments, “Before Deepika’s marriage where ever we used to go we used to spot this beautiful couple everywhere.” Kapil responds, “That means only I wasn’t aware of Deepika and Ranveer’s relationship”. “Of course Ranveer kept it hidden from you because you were the toughest competition for him”, remarked Archana. Deepika added, “This is true. If Ranveer is jealous of anyone it is you (Kapil Sharma).”
Conversations continued when Kapil tried to enquire about a rumor from Deepika that her and Ranveer’s shoe sizes are exactly the same and they keep on exchanging each others’ footwear. Confirming the same Deepika comments, “Yes this is true. Our shoe sizes are almost the same. We often wear each other’s shoes”.

The Decade Power: The success story of last 10 years biggest find, Ranveer Singh!
This decade saw the rise and fall of the biggest stalwarts from the industry. While a lot has been spoken about the star-power of the actors, here’s a series that analysis in-depth the strengths and weaknesses of the top 10 Bollywood stars, and ranks them based on their performance this decade taking into account factors like magnitude of success, opening day collections, consistency, potential, awareness, and loyal fan following. The one who scores high on all the fronts will be crowned the STAR OF THIS DECADE.
Number 4 on the list is Ranveer Singh and here’s a report card at how he fared between 2010 and 2019.
Ranveer Singh is undoubtedly the find of the decade and certainly one of the biggest success stories that we witnessed in the last few years. From surprising everyone with the opening day collections of his films to delivering the big grossers – Ranveer has seen it all. He made his debut with the 2010 rom-com, Band Baaja Baarat, and back then not many gave him the chance. In-fact, he was written off by most of the people prior to the film’s release as he didn’t command the quintessential qualities of a Hindi film hero. The film was a slow starter at the ticket window, however, with positive word of mouth; it garnered the momentum and reached a respectable total. It also gave Ranveer the much needed visibility. While everyone took notice of him as a great actor, none gave him even a benefit of doubt for emerging a star. He followed it up with Ladies V/s Ricky Bahl and Lootera, both of which got him reasonable recognition, though neither did any talking at the box-office.
In 2013 came the film that changed his career, both professionally and personally. He teamed up with Sanjay Leela Bhansali on Ram-Leela, co-starring his now wife, Deepika Padukone, and the film as well as the chemistry of the leading duo set the box-office on fire. It got big numbers, exposing him to a wide spectrum of audience. He followed that up with Gunday, another bumper opener and a success story however his next post that was a flop in Kill Dil. In the first few years of his career, the only big success that he had seen was Ram Leela, and the trade called it a fluke giving all the credit to Deepika Padukone and filmmaker, Sanjay Leela Bhansali. However, factually one must not forget that his introductory song, ‘Ram Ji Ki Chaal’ was a rage among the audience and in Indian demographics; songs too play a crucial role in getting the audience on board. None the less, Ranveer was determined to prove his mettle as an actor and a star. In the first 4 years of his career, he built the foundation of being a credible actor, and what followed post the failure of Kill Dil was a series of acclaimed performances that translated in success and kept elevating his standing in the industry.
2015 was a crucial year for him and he yet again surprised one and all with his restrained performance in Dil Dhadakne Do, and followed it up with an intense lover, Bajirao in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s epic, Bajirao Mastani, which even won a clash against Shah Rukh Khan’s mammoth entertainer, Diwale. Again, this was with the combo of Deepika and Sanjay Leela Bhansali, but it was Ranveer’s performance that won the maximum acclaim and grabbed the eyeballs. It was among the most spoken about performances of the year, and sheer brilliance of the performance did add some extra crore to the film’s account. While there were talks about sharing the success, Ranveer was important as the others for the success of Bajirao Mastani.

While his character of Khilji raised the excitement around Padmavaat, and was one of the USP’s of the film, Simmba saw him in an out and out commercial Rohit Shetty space. The follow up to Simmba was the subtle Murad in Gully Boy, which again won over the audience. The three films raked in Rs. 700 crore plus in a span of 365 days, putting him in the bracket of top stars. The three releases were a culmination of critical acclaim, appreciation for the performance and solid box-office performance. He is on the high now, with three back to back successes, and certainly consolidated his position as one of the biggest crowd puller of Hindi cinema.

The number crunching analysis:
Ranveer Singh has five films in the Rs. 100 crore club, of which 1 has crossed the Rs. 200 crore mark and other one earned Rs. 300 crore at the domestic box-office. The actor has been successful at blending art with commercial in his career particularly the second half of the decade and the same has also translated in him getting good opening day figures on a consistent basis. Even a relatively niche Gully Boy took opening around the Rs. 20 crore mark, speaking volumes about his pull among the audience at present. He is on his career high right now, and the peak is set to elevate further with multiple big projects lined up. He is among the few A-Lister, whose average collection/film stands above Rs 100 crore this decade, which is a phenomenal achievement.
The actor has managed his career quite well, and is indeed a success story from being no one at the start of this decade to THE RANVEER SINGH towards the end.
Where does Ranveer go from here?
Ranveer’s line up seems perfect for now as he has films like 83, Jayeshbhai Jordaar and Takht under his kitty. While ‘83 is releasing with the potential of crossing Rs 300 crore at the box-office, Jayeshbhai Jordaar, a comedy, can strike the chord and surprise one and all with its box-office performance if made well. Takht on the other hand seems little risky considering the budget, genre and stakes involved. But none the less, a dark horse considering that it’s Karan Johar’s dream project. One thing we would like Ranveer to do from here on is space himself from the period drama’s, as the genre is slowly getting stagnant – both in terms of presentation as well as the performance. He already has two iconic period characters under his kitty – Bajirao and Khilji in an environment when most fail to have even one, and we would want the perception around him to be the one with 100% track record in the period saga’s.
There’s also the big multi-starrer from the cop-universe that would raise his stakes further, and one must not forget his extended cameo in Sooryavanshi, which should build on to the excitement around the film. To sum it up, Ranveer’s slot of releases in the future looks exciting and we hope the stuff he signs on from here on just raises the bar further. At the moment, he is more or less in the perfect zone.

In Angrezi Medium, Kareena Kapoor will be seen playing a cop for the first time. Her first look from the film was shared on social media a few months ago. Irrfan, on the other hand, will be seen as the owner of a sweet shop in Rajasthan whose daughter wants to go abroad for further studies. The film is directed by Homi Adajania and is produced by Dinesh Vijan. It also stars Deepak Dobriyal. The film is slated to release on March 20, 2020.

We earlier told you how Ayushmann Khurrana and wife Tahira Kashyap were planning to ring in the New Year in the Bahamas, amid nothing but the serenity of nature. Their Christmas, which came a day later there, was about soaking in the sun and perhaps taking a dip in the sea.
And their New Year celebration looked just as good. Ayushmann shared a photo on Instagram, wherein he and Tahira are seen chilling on what looks like a yacht. Tahira looks gorgeous in her blue bikini while Ayushmann flaunts his bare bod. “New Years was also a day later in the Bahamas. Watching the last sunset of 2019. Heart is full of gratitude. Happy 2020 from us,” he wrote.
The Khurrana kids also had a gala time. Ayushmann’s daughter Varushka attended her first Jonas brothers’ concert, and we even saw her grooving with none other than Priyanka Chopra!
With films such as Article 15, Dream Girl and Bala, Ayushmann has had a wonderful 2019. This year, he will be seen in Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan and Gulabo Sitabo among other projects.
Deepika Padukone to spend her birthday with acid attack survivors in Lucknow?
Deepika Padukone is presently occupied with the promotions of Chhapaak. The trailer recently released, and left everyone in awe of Deepika. She will be seen playing Laxmi Agarwal, an acid attack survivor who braved the battle in reality and continues to inspire millions.
On the 5th of January, the actor celebrates her 34th birthday. But no, she is not planning to take a leave from work and celebrate. As per a recent report, Deepika will fly to Lucknow to spend her special day with acid attack survivors of the city. She is also expected to visit a cafe that is run by the survivors, wherein she will communicate to them and listen to their stories. There could not be a better birthday plan!
Deepika’s last big-screen outing Padmaavat, also starring Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor, came out in January 2018. She returns after over two years, and needless to say that fans are excited! The film releases on January 10, and the actor is also expected to visit a few cities for promotional purpose.
Deepika will be also seen playing Kapil Dev’s wife Romi Dev in Ranveer Singh’s upcoming release ’83.
Karisma Kapoor wants to have a film career again
Karisma Kapoor is all set to make her digital debut in Balaji/Ekta Kapoor’s Mentalhood, a supposed comedy about the madness of motherhood, where she will be paired with Dino Morea again. They were earlier together in the ill-fated feature film Baaz: A Bird In Danger which was a thundering flop. During the same year (2003) Karisma made an effort to consolidate her doddering career by playing the lead in a long-running television series Karishma: The Miracles Of Destiny which was another huge disaster.
Nine years later, after marriage and two children Karisma made an effort to make a comeback to big-screen acting in Vikram Bhatt’s reincarnation saga Dangerous Ishhq. The project, styled around Karisma’s personality, featured her in four roles. It was a thundering flop. And no more was heard of her acting plans except in interviews where Karishma, while endorsing sundry products, would talk about how she was “considering” various film offers.
Now 7 years after the debacle of Dangerous Ishhq her attempt to return to acting on the OTT platform should be more successful. Friends of the family say Karisma is very keen to return. “Her children are grown up. She has lost a lot of weight and makes sure she us clicked at parties and airports. She has been trying to stay in the limelight through her association with her sister Kareena and brother-in-law Saif Ali Khan. But Lolo (Karisma Kapoor) is getting restless. She wants to come back to acting. But where are the opportunities?” a family friend wonders.
