Shah Rukh Khan sends wishes to a newlywed acid attack survivor, and the internet is all hearts
Ever since he founded Meer Foundation in 2013, Shah Rukh Khan is actively involved in the organisation’s aim to aid and rehabilitate acid attack survivors, also helping them with the due medical course. Hence, when Anupama, a brave survivor, tied the knot with the love of her life, he took part in the joy too.
On Meer Foundation’s Twitter handle, we came across Anupama and her husband Jagdeep Singh’s photos from the wedding. SRK retweeted the photos, also penning a lovely wish for the newlyweds. “Congratulations and my love to Anupama as she starts on this new journey of life. May it be filled with love light and laughter. U r the man Jagdeep…and may u both have double the reasons to be happy with this union,” he wrote.
On the occasion of Diwali, the foundation recently organised surgeries for burn and acid attack survivors in Delhi. The event was attended by SRK, apart from other members of the foundation.
The actor, at present, has kept his forthcoming projects under the wraps. Reports strongly suggested that an announcement was going to happen on his birthday. While that is yet to take place, we hear that the actor will be next seen in a film titled Sanki, helmed by Tamil director Atlee Kumar. Reportedly, he has also signed a project with Rajkumar Hirani.
Abhay Deol admits to “finally sleeping with his director”
Actor Abhay Deol not only entertains his fans on-screen but showcases his wit and humour on social media. In his latest Instagram post, the actor shared a picture of himself “sleeping” with his director Mahesh Manjrekar. The duo was captured while taking a nap during a break from the shoot.
Sharing the picture from the shoot of his upcoming web series Abhay wrote, “I finally did it. I slept with my director. On set with Mahesh Manjrekar. I’m a @hotstar.” In the picture, Mahesh and Abhay are seen taking a nap on chairs during the break from shoot. Abhay is dressed in a police uniform and also sports a hairline moustache.
Actors Bipasha Basu and Pallavi Sharda commented on the hilarious post which had them in splits.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Abhay Deol was last seen in the Netflix original film Chopsticks alongside Mithila Palkar. He is currently shooting for his web series with the streaming platform Hotstar. Reportedly, the project directed by Mahesh Manjrekar is based on the 1962 Indo-China and Rezang La battle led by Major Shaitan Singh. It is expected to be the most expensive original web series in India. Abhay will also be seen in his Tamil debut film soon. He plays the antagonist in the film titled Hero.

Just a couple of days back, Kriti Kharbanda who is gearing up for her next release Pagalpanti confirmed that she was in a relationship with her co-star Pulkit Samrat. While fans are still celebrating this news, Anil Kapoor, who along with the cast of Pagalpanti was recently in conversation with Bollywood Hungama, might have just hinted at the two tying the knot!
During the rapid fire session with Kriti Kharbanda, when the actress mentioned that Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana was her favourite film, Anil Kapoor was asked whether he had watched the same. Replying to the question Anil Kapoor was quick to respond, “Oh yes, yes of course. I love the film, Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana.” Then with a slight pause and looking towards Kriti and Pulkit he adds, “Zaroor aaonga main aapki shaadi mein.” Well, seeing Kapoor’s reaction has just perked up our curiosity about the couple.
As for the film, Pagalpanti that is directed by Anees Bazmee features Anil Kapoor, John Abraham, Kriti Kharbanda, Pulkit Samrat and Urvashi Rautela is slated to release on November 22.
On International Men’s Day, Ira Khan writes a note for father Aamir Khan and other ‘kickass’ men in her life
On International Men’s Day, it is our turn to remember, recognise and appreciate the men that stood beside us unconditionally and had our backs no matter how difficult it got. Aamir Khan’s daughter Ira Khan also took to social media, keeping up with the spirit of the day, and raised a toast to the ‘kickass’ men in her life.
‘I’ve been lucky enough to know a lot of kickass men in my life. Even if all of them aren’t necessarily old enough to be called men yet. I’m eternally grateful. Happy Men’s Day,’ she wrote, sharing a handful of recent and throwback pictures. One among them is an old photograph of Ira and her brother, seated on a bike with their father. In another, she strikes a pose with cousin brother Imran Khan. But the most adorable one among the lot is the one where she cuddles her pet dog! Check out the photos below.
Ira, who doesn’t want to follow her father’s footsteps and become an actor, is keener to pursue direction. Her debut directorial play Medea, an adaptation of Euripides’ Greek play with the same name, is set to premiere in a few months.
The Kapil Sharma Show: Twitter blasts the comedian for derogatory jokes on Archana Puran Singh
Diligent followers of The Kapil Sharma Show would be familiar to the kind of jokes Kapil often pulls out, on Archana Puran Singh. While he can get away after taking as many pot-shots at Archana as he wants to and often leaves the audience in splits, Twitter isn’t taking his constant digs very lightly. Definitely not after the last episode that hosted Pagalpanti actors Anil Kapoor, John Abraham, Arshad Warsi and others as guests.
Archana’s style statement and physique are things Kapil keeps making fun of. But after last weekend’s episode, we saw people asking the comedian to put a halt to his derogatory comments.
‘I feel embarrassed for the audience in #TheKapilSharmaShow – they get humiliated without even realising. There’s fat shaming, the celebrity guests laugh at them. It’s not even funny,’ wrote another.
Another user, on the other hand, pointed out how Archana herself never objected to such ‘jokes’ that might appear to be of bad taste.

“I will never be able to repay that debt”: Amitabh Bachchan thanks fans at IFFI 2019
Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, on Wednesday, attended the inaugural ceremony of the 50th edition of the Indian Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa as the guest of honour, alongside other esteemed guests Rajinikanth, Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar and Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant. He was felicitated for his remarkable contribution to Indian cinema, and delivered a touchy note of thanks.
Bachchan began his speech with his signature “deviyon aur sajjanon”. “I want to thank you, my janta (public). You have supported me through all my ups and downs. I have always said this, that it’s to you whom I am most indebted. I will never be able to repay that debt and I don’t even want to. I want to keep this love with me forever,” he said.
Incidentally, the actor also completes 50 years in cinema this year. The humble performer, who began in 1969 with Saat Hindustani, went on to become possibly the biggest star that Indian cinema has produced. This year, he also became the recipient of the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke awards.
“I thank you for inviting me to this ceremony and bestowing such a great honour upon me. This is due to the blessings of my parents and the contribution of directors, writers, music directors and producers why I am standing before you,” Bachchan added.
He also presented friend Rajinikanth with the Special Icon of Golden Jubilee award. In the retrospective section, a number of Bachchan’s films will also be showcased at IFFI this year.
Pagalpanti: John Abraham says he needed a break from serious cinema
John Abraham’s past few films have been somehow related to patriotism and intense cases, including Parmanu, Satyameva Jayate, and Batla House. After doing films like these, John Abraham took a 180 degrees turn and picked Anees Bazmee’s Pagalpanti as his next. The film is of the comic genre and is expected to take the fans on a laughter ride according to the trailer. Explaining in an interview with a leading tabloid, John Abraham expressed the reason behind choosing Pagalpanti.
He said taking a break from serious cinema was much needed for him. He also revealed that he started shooting for Pagalpanti soon after he wrapped Batla House, so it was difficult for him to switch so quickly. Since Batla House was an out-and-out intense film, the first few days were difficult but with Anees Bazmee and the rest of the cast’s help, he was able to manage it well.
With an elaborate star cast that includes Ileana D’Cruz, Arshad Warsi, Anil Kapoor, Pulkit Samrat, Kriti Kharbanda, and Urvashi Rautela, Pagalpanti is slated to release on November 22.
Tiger Shroff, Sajid Nadiadwala, Ahmed Khan are all smiles as they pose on the sets of Baaghi 3
Soon after the release of War, Tiger Shroff went on to shoot for the third instalment of his action franchise, Baaghi. The movie stars Shraddha Kapoor as his leading lady thus reuniting the Baaghi duo. The film is expected to have some high-octane action sequences and honestly, after Tiger’s performance in War, the expectations are sky high with Baaghi 3.
The team has also shot in Serbia and is expected to be the best one out of the trilogy. Warda Nadiadwala posted a picture of the trio, Tiger Shroff, Sajid Nadiadwala, and Ahmed Khan posing on the sets of the film. Tiger can be seen bruised around his cheekbone and we’re guessing it’s from a fight sequence.
Baaghi 3 is slated to release in 2020 with Ahmed Khan donning the director’s hat.
Toofan: Farhan Akhtar and team are in a celebratory mood after finishing half of the film

Taapsee Pannu reveals why she agreed to be a part of Amazon Prime Video’s One Mic Stand
The concept of Amazon Prime’s original One Mic Stand is an Avant-garde. Conceptualized by comedian Sapan Verma, One Mic Stand’s premise is facile – five celebrities from varied fields of life come together with famous comedians to give a once in a lifetime performance in a stand-up set-up.
Having an unapologetic and invigorating indigenous approach towards life, Taapsee Pannu is an actor par excellence. Making a debut with Amazon Prime Video’s One Mic Stand, Taapsee’s extraordinary cinematic experience has widespread its wings over the OTT platform. Taapsee shared the stage with Angad Singh Ranyal who happens to be her college buddy and when she got that chance to try her hands at comedy, she couldn’t resist it.
Sharing some light on what made her choose this project, Taapsee asserted, “Angad and I were college mates, so when I got a call to do Stand-Up with him and Sapan for Amazon Original One Mic Stand, it seemed like something that would be a lot of fun. At heart, I am a performer – I like challenging roles, experimenting with different characters, and Stand-Up comedy seemed an extension of that. Also, I have always been a fan of Stand-Up comedy, even in its early days in India, I would visit all the comedy clubs and take my friends along! So doing was like ticking off a to-do on my bucket list.”
The show comprises of 5 episodes where each celebrity is individually mentored by the wittiest comedians in India such as Rohan Joshi, Ashish Shakya, Zakir Khan, Kunal Kamra and Angad Singh Royal.

Grammys 2020: Lizzo, Billie Eilish, Her, Lil NasX lead the nominations
The Recording Academy revealed the nominations for the 62nd annual Grammy Awards today which was announced by singer Alicia Keys. The award show will honor the best recordings in 84 categories released between October 1, 2018, and August 31. The annual show will air on Sunday, January 26, at Staples Center in Los Angeles.
