Ananya Panday might be only one-film old in the industry, but she’s quite a sensation already! Even on the work front, she is going smooth and now awaits the release of her next, Pati Patni Aur Woh. Meanwhile, she took to Instagram to share a picture with Farah Khan, and also her own ‘Tony Stark’.
Ananya’s father Chunky Panday must be given due credits for his new look, because that’s where the caption of the photo originated from! It’s not just us who think Chunky resembles Robert Downey Jr aka Iron Man aka Tony Stark. Ananya thinks so too! “Posing with Tony Stark and the hottest principal EVER!!! Thank you for having us”, she wrote.
Farah’s presence in this picture is making us particularly curious. One doesn’t know if this was a casual meet-up, but Ananya recently dropped strong hints about working with her in the near future, and even called Farah her ‘next director’. While Farah and Rohit Shetty are reported to be announcing a remake of Satte Pe Satta soon, Ananya is presently shooting for Ali Abbas Zafar’s Khaali Peeli with Ishaan Khatter.
Is it a fresh film that Farah and Ananya are collaborating for? Time will tell us.

Imtiaz Ali’s Rockstar is considered one of Ranbir Kapoor’s best performances so far. He not only bagged a bunch of awards for the same, but also reunited with Imtiaz for Tamasha a couple of years later. However, you might be surprised to know that the role first went to Saif Ali Khan!
When he started working on Rockstar, Imtiaz had already worked with Saif in Love Aaj Kal, and it must have been a great experience, since he decided to approach the actor with Rockstar as well. But the actor didn’t give a positive nod, and eventually, Ranbir came on board.
In a recent interview, Saif also revealed how Imtiaz had a different story planned, for Love Aaj Kal. As per that, the male protagonist returned to find his ladylove eight-month’s programme! We aren’t sure that would be a very happy ending. Saif and others pleaded the filmmaker to change the ending, and he agreed after some pursuit. It was when the team reached London to shoot that he announced he was changing the ending to a happy one!
On a related note, a sequel to Love Aaj Kal is in progress, and will feature Saif’s daughter Sara Ali Khan opposite Kartik Aaryan.

Farhan Akhtar is one of the most hardworking people in the industry. After delivering a hit with his movie Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, the actor is all set to essay the role of a boxer in Toofan. The actor recently opened up about the differences between training for Toofan and how different it is from Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.
Farhan shares, “Getting the character of runner right was challenging physically, as there were a lot of races. However as I was part of the school athlete team and also had running in my fitness regime, it wasn’t something that I had to learn from scratch”.
He further added “But boxing is something I have never done in my life. It is very demanding and not only about fitness but also about your endurance. When you are running, after a certain point you are on autopilot but in boxing, you have to think what other person is thinking. It is a tougher sport and has tougher discipline”.

Saif Ali Khan reveals why he and Dinesh Vijan parted ways as business partners
A decade back, in 2009, Saif Ali Khan and producer Dinesh Vijan joined hands to form Illuminati Films, and backed a handful of films together, including Saif’s Go Goa Gone. However, Dinesh later parted ways and went on to form his own production house Maddock Films, which is already a known entity in the industry. In a recent interview, Saif was quizzed as to why he and Dinesh went separate ways.
The actor stated that he was on the lookout for someone who would look after his production company, but Dinesh would want to become a producer on his own. While Saif clearly puts it across that he was alright with his partner’s decision to move out, he also says that he considers himself as more of an actor and would not be comfortable making a film for 20 other people.
He also gave away an interesting piece of news many of us didn’t know about. Saif’s film Cocktail, starring Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty as female leads was first offered to Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan, but both of them turned it down. It was after that he himself stepped in to play the lead role!
Saif, who was last seen in Laal Kaptaan playing a naga sadhu, and will be next seen in Jawaani Jaaneman and Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior.

The success of the music of Happy Hardy and Heer has inspired Himesh Reshammiya to return to his iconic cap look for the remix video of the blockbuster hit track ‘Teri Meri Kahani’ and also recreated version of his earlier hit song ‘Ashiqui Mein Teri’ which was recently shot on a huge set by choreographer turned director Raka for Happy Hardy and Heer produced by Deepshikha Deshmukh and Sabita Manakchand.

Isha Koppikhar poised for a comeback in Ram Gopal Varma’s web-series, discusses Bollywood post MeToo
The talented Isha Koppikhar who made her screen debut 21 years ago in Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada cinema shot to fame in Bollywood with her ‘item’ song in Ram Gopal Varma’s Company. After a voluntary break when she married and became a mother, Isha is back in the limelight, and it is with Ram Gopal Varma again.
“Small world,” she laughs as she discusses the film industry’s mutating morals during the time she was away. “Ram Gopal Varma has offered me a web series where I’ve a lot more to do than I did when we first got together (in Company). That was just a song and dance called ‘Khallas’ which became a rage. Sadly I was offered many so-called item songs after that. I turned down most of them. In Ramu’s series I am playing a cop ….again. Mine is one of the central characters in the series, like the cop in the American series Narcos. I played a cop in my last two films Looty and Kavacha both in Kannada. Maybe I was a cop in my last life. I should change my name to Isha Cop-ikkar, ha ha.”
How has the show world changed while Isha has been away looking after her own world? “The atmosphere is far less toxic. There’s no hanky-panky on the sets, no unnecessary talk. When I came in things were very different. Girls were asked to ‘compromise’ and some of them had no choice but to do so because they came from humble backgrounds. I didn’t have to do it. I had solid familial support behind me. I was neither financially nor emotionally insecure. But what about those girls who had no security at all and were asked to compromise? It was a really sad scenario,” says Isha.
She sees everyone being more professional now. “The new generation is so much more focused on their work. I lost a lot of good work because I wasn’t willing to compromise with my values. I was only 23 then. But I knew what I wanted from my life. And I didn’t believe in short cuts.”

Sidharth Malhotra gets set for his angry young man act in Milap Zaveri and Nikkhil Advani’s Marjaavaan
If Jabariya Jodi saw him letting his hair down like never before in a colourful character, Marjaavaan is set to be his angry young man outing, what with Sidharth Malhotra stepping into a violent zone. As a man who lives for love and then fights for love, Sidharth is already gearing up for his most massy entertainer till date where filmmaker Milap Zaveri has taken a holds-no-bad approach when it comes to presenting him like never before.
Says an insider, “Given his towering personality, Sidharth was getting quite a few action packed roles in the past as well. He has done action in films like Brothers and Ek Villain as well. However it was more catering to the class audience with a method to madness. It’s quite different in Marjaavaan. This one would see Sidharth in a ‘seeti maar’ avtar. He was waiting for something like this coming his way where he could bash up dozens of goons in one go and still make it all look possible.”
What further added to Sidharth’s decision making was a strong love story element that was the genesis of it all.
“As is the known fact in a Hindi film, action works best when there is emotion. Here you would see ton loads of that as Sidharth not just falls in love with Tara Sutaria but also kills her, and that too while carrying her in his own arms. That’s an unbelievable situation to be a part of and makes the love story all the more intriguing. Sidharth was hooked when he heard this twist in the tale,” a close associate adds.
To top it all, he was promised by the team of Marjaavaan that music would form a core part of the narrative and that ensured that as a package, this Nikkhil Advani, Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani and Bhushan Kumar film seemed pretty much like a winner on the table. Rest was taken care of the out and out massy promo which also featured Riteish Deshmukh as the villain who brought an altogether different dimension to terror and for Sidharth Malhotra; it was time to announce game, set and match.
With mass films being a rare commodity today and such kind of meaty characterisations being much hunted, one now waits for the arrival of Marjaavaan next Friday and in turn witness how Sidharth has made the best of the opportunity in hand.
50 Years of Amitabh Bachchan: Abhishek Bachchan pens a heart-warming post for the megastar

Parineeti Chopra shoots training sequence for Saina Nehwal’s biopic (watch video)
The actors going the extra mile to get into their on-screen characters has become a norm. Months before they start shooting for the film, they get into each and every element of their character’s life, be it look, language, mannerisms, body language, etc. Similarly, Parineeti Chopra too believes in pushing the envelope for her roles. The versatile actress, who will be seen portraying India’s ace shuttler, Saina Nehwal, in her biopic, which is being helmed by Amole Gupte. She has left no stone unturned in making her character of the badminton legend appear more interesting and relatable on screen.
In doing so, Parineeti will be staying on the premises of Ram Sheth Thakur International Sports Complex based in Mumbai for a week to prep and shoot for her character. The actress shared the news with her fans on social media and mentioned how excited she is to stay at a stadium for the first time. Parineeti is neck-deep in the shoot for her next. A video clip was shared on social media that shows her shooting the film in the early hours of the morning in Mumbai! She has been shooting and staying at the Ramsheth Thakur International Sports Complex where she will be staying for 15 days. Parineeti felt it was strategic to shift her house to the sports facility so that she could train and better her game in between shoots and break days.
A source close to the development says “Parineeti has been seen taking an early morning run around the stadium regularly and also playing badminton at the Ramsheth Thakur International Sports Complex later at night, even whilst shooting through the day”.
Director Amole Gupte adds, “Shooting and working out has gone hand in hand for Parineeti throughout the film’s schedule. Badminton sessions, gym sessions and runs in the stadium. The academy is austere and simple and I feel excited and proud to see Parineeti adapt to this sportsman’s life with dedication and commitment”.
The film is already on floors and Parineeti is deep into the prep. The biopic on Saina Nehwal is being directed by Amole Gupte, and being produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar’s T-Series.

Richa Chadha turns stand-up comedian for new comedy series One Mic Stand
Richa Chadha has always maintained that comedy is her favourite genre in filmmaking. Famous particularly for her character Bholi Punjaban in Fukrey, the actress has proven her mettle for humour with her impeccable comic timing in the film.
The actress will now take her love for comedy to the next level, by appear in a comic show. She also spent a week training under the expertise of comedians Sapan Varma and Ashish Shakya. As per the show’s format, a comedian trains a celebrity for a week and then a live show is hosted where the two mentors perform their set in front of a live audience. But the audience is unaware that the celebrity is a surprise guest who’s performing as the last act on the episode basis his/her training with their respective mentors.
The actress comments, “I love to see people laugh, it’s truly a joyous thought to stand on stage and spread humour with your words. And to know, I can do so is such a satisfying feeling. This show has an innovative concept. I have dabbled in stand up before very briefly but it was quite a challenge taking this on. Sapan and Ashish have been admirable mentors, pushing me to do better at each step. They have distinctly different styles and I imbibed a lot from their individual style. It has been both daunting and exciting to take it up professionally, even thought for a brief while and learning from the experts. Humour, for me, is a fairly natural and organic way of expressing myself. I struggled with how much of myself to reveal, because I am aware people think of me as a very serious person. So it was confusing, it is an experiment for me at best, but then I owe my career to experimentation”.
