Dhurandhar OTT Release Sparks Streaming Rumors

The highly anticipated film Dhurandhar made its OTT debut on January 30, 2026, immediately sparking discussions online. Some viewers noticed the digital version appeared 11 minutes shorter than the theatrical release, with certain words muted or beeped, leading to speculation that the film had been re-edited. However, sources close to the streaming partner clarified that the OTT version is identical to the version provided by the studio, with no modifications or cuts.

An insider confirmed to Mid-Day that the platform does not alter certified feature films. The version currently streaming is the same one approved by the CBFC and shown in theaters, including the revised theatrical cut that began screening on January 1, 2026, which dropped words like “Baloch.” The slight runtime difference, approximately three minutes, is attributed to elements like interval plates or in-theater advertisements that are not part of the digital release.

The changes in dialogue and muted expletives are reportedly linked to the new I&B Ministry Broadcasting Services (Regulation) Bill, which aims to regulate profanity and intimate content on OTT platforms.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar stars Ranveer Singh as an Indian spy infiltrating terror networks in Lyari Town, Pakistan. The film also features Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi, and Sara Arjun. Originally released in theaters on December 5, 2025, the second installment is scheduled for a big-screen release on March 19, 2026.
