Indian Jahnavi Dangeti joins US Titan Space as candidate

Jahnavi Dangeti, a student from Lovely Professional University (LPU), is set to participate as an astronaut candidate in Titan Space Industries’ 2029 orbital mission. Currently pursuing her B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering, she will undergo a rigorous three-year training under the ASCAN (Astronaut Candidate) Program led by the US-based Titan Space Industries. This program is designed to prepare participants for a low-Earth orbit mission slated for 2029. LPU recently honored Jahnavi with a campus-wide celebration, applauding her for setting a new milestone for Indian students in space science.

Jahnavi’s journey from rural India to international aerospace platforms demonstrates what focused ambition and institutional support can achieve. As part of LPU’s Robotics and Intelligent Systems Community (RISC), she carved her path early, becoming the first Indian to graduate from the International Air and Space Program (IASP) affiliated with NASA via AEXA Aerospace. She stood out globally, representing India among 60 participants and earning accolades for her leadership and innovation.

In 2022, Jahnavi achieved another historic feat by becoming the youngest international Analog Astronaut at the Analog Astronaut Training Centre (AATC) in Poland. Her growing list of credentials includes training at the Advanced PoSSUM Academy, earning scuba diving certifications, and leading STEM outreach programs focused on empowering young minds in space education.

During the felicitation, she credited LPU’s Innovation Studio for nurturing her passion. She spoke of how mentorship from aerospace faculty and access to research opportunities helped turn her dreams into action. “Dream boldly and prepare well—that’s how you reach the stars,” she shared with fellow students.

Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal, Founder Chancellor of LPU and Member of Parliament, praised Jahnavi’s achievements, stating they reflect the university’s mission to empower students through innovation. He announced plans to introduce analog astronaut training modules within India, further reinforcing LPU’s role in shaping future space explorers.

Jahnavi’s remarkable rise isn’t just her own triumph—it’s a message to aspiring youth across India. Her story proves that with access to the right tools and guidance, even the most distant dreams can take flight.
