Riteish Deshmukh who has been a part of the film industry for more than 15 years says he is a secure person and that reflects in his body of work and the roles he chooses. The actor who is late politician Vilasrao Deshmukh’s son made his acting debut in Bollywood film Tujhe Meri Kasam that released in 2003. The film also featured Genelia D’Souza and the two actors later went on to marry each other.
In an interview, Riteish Deshmukh said that he never thought he will get a film after his debut film. However, that was clearly not the case as he kept getting offers. He said that some worked well, while some failed to create an impact. Riteish further said that every actor has a journey of giving hits and flops.
Riteish feels it is very important for an actor to stay relevant. He said that one needs to attempt new things even if they are doing the same genre. The actor said that whenever you try a new genre, it is important for it to be successful for people to remember or relate to it. He further said that it is important to stay relevant because audience choices are changing very fast. However, the Ek Villain actor is thankful as there are new roles that are coming to him. The actor, who will soon be seen in Baaghi 3, asserted that his experience has shaped him as a person.

It was announced a while ago that the Bol Bachchan duo Ajay Devgn and Abhishek Bachchan will be reuniting as producer and actor for The Big Bull. The film will revolve around the ups and downs of the financial state of the country, set in the 90s. A series similar to the subject is also in works with Hansal Mehta as the director.
When questioned about the subject being similar, he said that they had already started shooting for the web series titled Scam 1992 – The Harshad Mehta Story, before the movie was announced. He clarified that the movie revolves around the outline of the story but the makers have created a work of fiction from it.
The Big Bull also stars Nikita Dutta who will be seen playing Abhishek Bachchan’s love interest.
Amitabh Bachchan directed a sequence in Chehre, reveals producer Anand Pandit
Amitabh Bachchan has been a part of the film industry for five decades and is undoubtedly the master of his trade. The actor who continues to amaze the audience with his performance has directed a sequence from his upcoming film Chehre.
In a recent interview with a news agency, Anand Pandit who is the producer of the film Chehre, said that Amitabh Bachchan gave inputs throughout the making of the film, and the veteran actor also directed the upcoming film’s chasing-and-combat scenes. He further said that the film has been extremely special for several reasons and the entire crew got emotional when they had to wrap the shoot. Pandit said that even in subzero weather, when it would become almost impossible to shot, Bachchan would be the first to arrive on set.
The producer said that Amitabh Bachchan understands every aspect of filmmaking and every input given by him has been incorporated in the film. The actor also shared behind-the-scenes ideas with Pandit that boosted the overall impact of the film.
The film is directed by Rumi Jaffery and also stars Emraan Hashmi and Krystle D’Souza. The film is slated to release on April 24, 2020.

“I’m a very happy, social person so this character is a complete contrast to who I’m in real life. It was very, very hard for me to become Sunny but I knew I had to prove myself as an actor. The preparation for this film was a painful process for me emotionally. I’m an actor so I approached my debut with as much honesty and integrity towards the character that I was given to play. I knew that for media and people to love my character, I will need them to hate Sunny and I prepped really hard. It was not easy because I’m not this evil person,” says Vishal.
“To transform into Sunny, I used to put a chair in the middle of the room and I used to vent all my anger, all my aggression towards it as if it was a person. I used a rod to hit the chair, abuse at the chair, shout and scream at the chair as if I was Sunny and I had to cause pain. I was exhausted after this process because Sunny is a person no one should ever become. Our film warns of people like him,” he adds.
“I also decided that I will wear the same clothes that Sunny wore in the film so that he can be with me even when I wasn’t rehearsing. I wore Sunny’s clothes through the shooting schedule. At one point in time, I stopped taking a bath with soap because Sunny is a filthy human being. I used to go to my house and lock myself up in my house for hours and hours and try and behave like Sunny, trying to find a body language, posture, demeanour,” he adds.
The newcomer elaborates, “I searched for a lot of news clips about such criminals and in detail researched about their crimes and their state of mind while committing these crimes. I was in a very dark place and I remember one day I couldn’t take it anymore and I broke down and kept sobbing and howling for a long time as this character ate me from inside. But, I think, everything that I did to become Sunny paid off at the end because of the love and appreciation that I’m getting now. It was a tough phase for me but I had to go through it to bring Sunny to life. I had to believe in him, believe his beliefs and notions about society and women to become him,” he adds.
And choosing to play a villain in his first film is definitely a brave move by Vishal. He elaborated on his decision by saying, “Playing a villain in your debut film is a tough choice for sure but I’m an actor at the end of the day and I would like to showcase my acting in every possible way. For me being a part of a franchise like Mardaani 2 was a big opportunity. It had an icon like Rani Mukerji. It was being produced by YRF – the biggest production house in India and I was sure I will get the right exposure with this film.”
The talented actor adds, “Everything checked out for me and I decided to take the plunge. I’m glad right now that people have loved the film and have appreciated my work. It’s a positive step in the right direction. I would love to be a part of good films and I’m not thinking about what my next film or role should be. I’m ready to do good work in good films. This is a dream come true for me so I’m not going to strategise now and just enjoy the work.”

Shikha Kapur moves on from Fox Star Studios
Fox Star Studios CMO and Business Head, Shikha Kapur, has decided to step down from the studio after 6 years in the role. She was recently elevated to the role of Business Head – India theatrical for the Bollywood Business. January will be Shikha’s last month with the organisation.
Shikha is currently leading the India marketing and theatrical strategy for Chhapaak and Panga, while serving her notice period. Shikha is known to have played a pivotal role in reinventing the film marketing model at Fox Star Studios, by pioneering the digital transformation of the business.
She leaves the studio to pursue her future ambitions.
Nikamma: Shilpa Shetty unveils her first look and release date from her comeback film
The first look poster of Shilpa Shetty’s comeback film Nikamma has been unveiled and the film is slated to hit the theatres in June 2020. The film also features Abhimanyu Dassani and debutante Shirley Setia.
Shilpa Shetty took to her Instagram account to share the first look and wrote, “Super excited to announce that #Nikamma is releasing on 5th June, 2020. The film directed by Sabbir Khan marks Shilpa Shetty’s big comeback on the silver screen after 13 years. The actress was last seen in the film Apne which also featured Dharmendra, Sunny, and Bobby Deol. Meanwhile, Abhimanyu Dassani, who is former actress Bhagyashree’s son, made his debut this year with Vasan Bala’s film Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota.
Nikamma also marks Sabbir’s foray into production. He will co-produce the film under his banner Sabbir Khan Films along with Sony Pictures. The filmmaker shared the first look of his next on Instagram and wrote, “NIKAMMA … Arriving on 5th June 2020. Get ready to meet this lovable couple and of course the sassy Shilpa Shetty who makes a comeback to the screen after 13 years.”

The duo, according to reports, has already been shooting for the past few weeks for the project. This is Siddhant Chaturvedi’s next big project after Gully Boy. However, he has been roped in as the lead actor opposite Deepika Padukone in Shakun Batra’s next.
With Sharvari debuting with this popular cop-caper franchise, they will be accompanied by Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji. Rani Mukerji starred in the first instalment of the film with Abhishek Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan, and the film was quite a fun entertainer. Has there been a fall-out between the heroic acid-attack victim Laxmi Aggarwal and the makers of Chhapaak, the film on release based on Laxmi’s indomitable fight to get justice? While the film, directed by the wonderfully sensitive Meghna Gulzar looks like a comprehensive showcase for Deepika Padukone’s immersive skills as an actor, there are rumblings of discontent already being heard from certain sections regarding the way the original acid victim has been treated by the makers of the movie version.
A source informs this writer that there is a major rift brewing between Laxmi Aggarwal and the Chhapaak team. “She has been paid a mere Rs. 13 lakhs for the film rights. Laxmi signed happily. But now she is being advised to ask for more, and rightly so. She was ill-advised initially,” says the source.
Deepika Padukone who is also one of the producers of Chhapaak could well provide answers to Laxmi Aggarwal’s alleged dissatisfaction with the financial deal with the producers. Deepika is in a position to not only clear the air about the exact financial deal with Laxmi Aggarwal, but also ensure that the brave soul, whose story is already winning Deepika aggrandized accolades, is satisfactorily compensated.

Ajay Devgn turns down Sanjay Leela Bhansali again
Director Sanjay Bhansali seems to be facing rough weather as far as the casting of his forthcoming films is concerned. While his Alia Bhatt propelled gangster drama Gangubai Kathiawadi, the gory tale of the gori, so to speak, is yet to get its leading man, Bhansali who announced his next Baiju Bawra somewhat prematurely, now has to deal with his first choice for the role of Tansen saying no to the offer.
Ajay Devgn who was offered the role Tansen in Baiju Bawra has declined the offer. Sources say Devgn thinks the title role of Baiju to be far more pivotal than that of Tansen. Baiju Bawra is the story of how a singer from the peasant class scores over the legendary singer Tansen.
This isn’t the first time that Ajay Devgn has turned down Bhansali. Devgn was the first choice for Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani. The director and star had worked together in 1999’s Hum…Dil De Chuke Sanam.

A few months ago, the entire country was over the moon after the news of Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer Gully Boy being selected as India’s entry for the 92nd Academy Awards came out. The film was nominated in the Best International Feature Film’s category which was earlier called the Best Foreign Language Film’s category. The film is based on the lives of underground rappers, Divine and Naezy and is still one of the most critically acclaimed films of 2019.

Speaking about the film to a leading daily, Aanand L Rai revealed that he is looking forward to entertaining and engaging the audience with this edgy script.

Ajay Devgn speaks on petition filed against Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior and unrest due to Citizenship Amendment Act
Ajay Devgn is starring in Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior as Tanaji Malusare. The actor released a new trailer on Monday and even was part of a panel on Agenda AajTak in Delhi. This past weekend, a petition was filed against the makers of the film in Delhi High Court.
Speaking up on the issue, Ajay said, “Ek toh communities itni hai ki koi na koi hurt ho hi jayega. Then there are those who do it for fame. The genuine ones, you can still have a conversation with. But at the end of the day, we will never be able to make everyone happy.”
Kajol, who was also at panel, agreed with Ajay and said, “I agree with Ajay, we cannot make everyone happy. It’s a choice you have to make and stick to it.”
When asked about his views on the current state of affairs in the different parts of the country and the violence that has erupted, Ajay said, “This is a democracy. The establishment has an opinion, and there are those who do not agree with that opinion. Everyone should have the right to express their opinion. Violence is not the answer. Instead of fighting, things should be settled amicably, so that the aam janta doesn’t suffer.”

Janhvi Kapoor garners praise for her work in Ghost Stories ahead of its release
Actor Janhvi Kapoor is all set to impress everyone with her acting skills in the upcoming Netflix original film Ghost Stories. The actor will be seen in the anthology films, which brings together four different stories of horror.
For her part, in which Janhvi Kapoor’s character demanded her to have a heavy south Indian influence to make the character look authentic. Akshay Kumar, Manushi Chhillar to get into character for Prithviraj Chauhan
Playing the historical icon Prithviraj Chauhan and his better-half Sanyukta won’t be a cakewalk for Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chillar. It is reliably learnt that the director Chandraprakash Diwedi, known for his factually and emotionally accurate historical serials and feature films, intends to do a series of workshops with the two actors before they face the camera.
A source close to the director reveals, “Akshay has played only contemporary characters throughout his career, and we are not even going into his ‘Bala’ act in Housefull 4. He is excellent at playing the patriotic card in present times. The same, when transported back by century would need a different body language. Even the walk has to be different.”
The source says Dr Diwedi aims at making an authentic historical and not just a costume drama.
“It would be easier to mould Manushi Chillar since she has never faced the camera. But Akshay will have to work very hard on his speech and body language,” says the source.
