Priyanka Chopra Jonas adds another feather to her hat where she occupied the first position on IMDb’s list of Indian actors 2019. Currently, in Marrakech, she received an award at the Marrakech International Film Festival for her contribution to cinema and she even took to her social media to share pictures from the event.
IMDb has released its list of top Indian stars of 2019 and Priyanka Chopra has topped the list! The top ten stars include Disha Patani, Hrithik Roshan, Kiara Advani, Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif, Rakul Preet Singh and Sobhita Dhulipala in order.

#MeToo: Tanushree Dutta files a petition opposing Mumbai police’s clean chit to Nana Patekar
Bollywood actress Tanushree Dutta filed a petition before a court in Mumbai, opposing the ‘B summary ‘ report filed by the police in connection with her complaint against actor Nana Patekar. A ‘B Summary’ report is filed before a court when the police do not find any evidence to file a charge sheet. The police in July filed a report in the court saying that they did not find any evidence.
Tanushree’s lawyer Nitin Satpute filed her petition opposing the ‘B summary’ before a metropolitan magistrate’s court in Andheri. The petition demands that the court initiate a contempt proceeding against the investigating officer for filing a false report and a case should be registered against him by the Anti-Corruption Bureau. The petition also demanded a narco-analysis on all the accused and the investigating officer. Dutta even urged that the case be handed over to the Crime Branch of Mumbai police.
In October 2018, Tanushree Dutta had filed a complaint against the veteran actor for misbehaving and harassing her on the sets of the 2008 film Horn Ok Pleasss.
Mardaani 2: Rani Mukerji meets special Night Patrol Police to discuss women’s safety
Rani Mukerji plays a woman super-cop in Mardaani 2 and she met the special Night Patrol team that vigilantly protects the city day in and day out. The Night Patrol force has incredibly challenging work hours as they pull off a 12-hour long shift every single day. From 8 pm to 8 am in the morning they are constantly mobile and supremely vigilant so that we can sleep peacefully at our homes and late-night commuters can feel safe while traveling in the city.
Rani, who met the special all-women night patrol team, says, “Strict vigilance can prevent a lot of crimes and I salute the entire police force of our country for protecting us day and night without blinking even for a single second. I can’t imagine a society without them. Their daily sacrifices and unwavering sense of duty help us live peacefully and I want to do my small bit to highlight the incredible work being done by our police force.”
She adds, “I met an extremely specialised police unit, the night patrol team to see their work to protect the citizens at night. I was amazed by seeing them at work. The amount of work they do, so that our families sleep peacefully and make commuters at odd hours feel protected is incredible. It has been an eye-opening exercise for me and I thank the Maharashtra police wholeheartedly for educating me on this.”
Kalpana Suravse of the Night Patrol team stressed that late-night commuters need to keep in mind a few simple things that could be hugely beneficial in the time of need. She says, “We should note down the number of the transport that we choose to take while commuting at all times. In the case of suspicious activity, you have the details handy to give people and call the police. Also, it is important that if you have a cell phone with GPRS facility, please keep the map on so that you know where you are heading. Also, keep the location on which helps to track. We are always there to act swiftly but these small things can make a huge difference.”

Halsey releases Suga’s Interlude and Finally // Beautiful Stranger
American singer Halsey (Ashely Frangipane) is set to begin next year with the release of her third studio album, ‘Manic’. It is easily one of the most awaited albums of the year since the singer has truly had a successful 2019. On Tuesday, the 25-year-old singer shared the track list of her upcoming album and it has some major collaborations with music producer Min Yoongi aka Suga of the band BTS, Alanis Morissette and Dominic Fike.
On Friday, the singer released two new tracks from her upcoming album – ‘Suga’s Interlude’ and ‘Finally // Beautiful Stranger’. Halsey had collaborated with BTS back in April on band’s title track ‘Boy With Luv’ from their mini album Map Of The Soul: Persona. This time Suga features in Halsey’s album and interlude is truly a blend of two cultures. Halsey opens the track with her melodious voice but it’s Suga’s rap in Korean captures attention which is calming yet reflects on his own journey where he talks about dreaming big and taking a leap of faith to achieve it. One verse goes "Before the sun rises, the dawn is dark more than anything."
Halsey’s next track is acoustic ‘Finally // Beautiful Stranger’ for which she revealed a music video too. The video begins with Halsey playing her guitar in a closed club while flashes between scene where she is singing in front of an audience.

The movie’s trailer is being appreciated quite a lot along with both the songs that have been released so far. The actress in her recent interview expressed her love for kids and children.
Speaking more about it, she revealed that she used to work in her mother’s pre-school before she became an actress. She said that she used to go to the pre-school at 7 am where she helped take care of the kids as she played with them, taught them alphabets and nursery rhymes and even changed their diapers when necessary. Kiara Advani also said that she absolutely loves children and the day she has her own kid will be extremely special.
Good Newwz also stars Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor Khan and is slated to release on December 27.
Ajay Devgn and Saif Ali Khan starrer Tanhaji gets a simultaneous Marathi release!
Ajay Devgn will be seen playing the role of a Marathi warrior, Tanhaji Malusare, in his 100th film Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. The actor will be seen portraying the role of the warrior and will be reuniting with his wife on-screen along with Saif Ali Khan after Omkara. Since the film’s basic plot is based on a Maratha warrior, the director Om Raut and Ajay Devgn felt that it was necessary to release the film in the warriors’ mother tongue along with Hindi.
The film was pitched in Hindi since the idea was to take it global. However, with the 3D release of the film in Marathi, Ajay wants it to reach in the interiors of Maharashtra as well as the nation. Ajay Devgn went on to say that releasing the film in two languages is going to increase its audience by a significant number. Kajol, who plays the role of Savitribai Malusare, was ecstatic with the idea of releasing the film in Marathi since she’s Maharashtrian on her mother Tanuja’s side.
The movie also stars some prominent Marathi actors and Om Raut feels that it was important to get the cultural nuances and dialect right and the team has made sure that the beauty of the language is not lost in the process.
This actress will be seen making a special appearance in the Kartik Aaryan starrer Pati Patni Aur Woh
The much talked about Kartik Aaryan starrer Pati Patni Aur Woh hits screens today. Also starring Ananya Panday and Bhumi Pednekar the Mudassar Aziz directorial has been making headlines for a while now. Well, before you head to the nearest theatre to watch the film, we at Bollywood Hungama have learnt that Pati Patni Aur Woh features a special appearance by one of Kartik’s previous co-stars.
In fact, Kriti Sanon who shared screen space with Kartik in Luka Chuppi will be seen making an appearance in the film. Though details of Kriti’s character in the film are unavailable, looking at the image it is safe to surmise that she will be seen with Kartik in an office setting. As per our sources, Kriti will be seen as Neha Khanna, who enters Chintu Tyagi’s life towards the end of the film.
As for the film Pati Patni Aur Woh, is a remake of the 1978 film of same name. Starring Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday in the lead roles the film is slated to release today.
Anupam Kher joins Vivek Agnihotri’s next, The Kashmir Files
Filmmaker, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri who recently announced his most ambitious project till date- The Kashmir Files gets Anupam Kher on board as a part of the lead cast. Kashmir Files is the story of the biggest genocide in India’s history- ethnic cleansing of Kashmiri Pandits, which has been unreported or under reported.
On casting Anupam Kher, Vivek said, "When I started researching, meeting, and listening to Kashmiri Hindu community, I realised that their story of loss and suffering is so painful that if this story has to be told, it must be told by the greatest of actors of our times to bring the realism, conviction, and sensibility that heals the community. My first choice was Anupam Kher. It’s a coincidence that he happens to be a Kashmiri himself, and I am so proud and happy that when he heard the script in his New York home, he agreed to act in this very important film of our times. I hope that the audience will see a dimension of Mr. Kher that we haven’t seen so far.”
Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri and wife Pallavi Joshi are on a US Tour for a month and a half long schedule that entailed on-camera interviews with victims, survivors and their family members and who have lost everything in the tryst. This shoot also marks the first ever attempt towards a consolidated report on this macabre incident which is still shrouded in mystery.
YAY! Priyanka Chopra Jonas receives UNICEF’s Danny Kay Humanitarian Award
We’re all aware that Priyanka Chopra Jonas is the Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF and has been doing her best to help the others. She has visited parts of Africa where she interacted with people and helped them learn English. Being the desi girl that she is, Priyanka ended up teaching them a few of famous Bollywood steps and they were more than happy to learn.
Recently, at a function held in New York called the UNICEF Snowflake Ball, Diane von Furstenberg presented the Danny Kay Humanitarian Award to Priyanka Chopra Jonas for her work and dedication towards children. Priyanka’s mother, Madhu Chopra accompanied her for the event and couldn’t be more proud of her daughter.

Gangubai Kathiawadi: Alia Bhatt reveals she will start Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film in just few days
After Inshallah was shelved a couple of months ago, the fans were eagerly waiting for the announcement of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next project. The filmmaker, then, revealed he is making Gangubai Kathiawadi with Alia Bhatt as the lead actress. With that being said, the prep for the film has begun and Alia Bhatt has even started diction lessons.
Recently, Alia Bhatt revealed that she will start shooting for Gangubai Kathiawadi in just a couple of days. She is looking forward to it. Gangubai, remembered as The Madam Of Kamathipura in the pages of history, was pushed into prostitution at an early age, and later became an extremely influential pimp with numerous ferocious gangsters as her client. The film will release on 11th September 2020.
Besides this, she will also shoot for SS Rajamouli’s directorial RRR soon. She also revealed Brahmastra is also close to completion and Sadak 2 has been finished 95 %. So, Alia Bhatt will have a very tight 2020.

Scoop: Karan Johar signs Deepika Padukone again
Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone are among Karan Johar’s closest friends in the film industry. While Ranveer has repeatedly worked with Karan Johar, Deepika did the successful Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani in 2013 with Karan’s Dharma Productions.
Since then they have been trying to find the right script to reunite. It’s finally happening! Yes, Deepika is doing a film to be produced by Karan Johar. It will be directed by Shakun Batra who directed Kapoor & Sons for Karan.
While full details of the Deepika Padukone – Karan Johar collaboration are yet to be known what I do know is that the film will be a heroine-centric subject with Deepika playing a character that has not been attempted before in our cinema.
Siddhant Chaturvedi of Gully Boys is also likely to be in this Deepika starrer which goes on the floors in mid-2020.
Shoojit Sircar takes a dig at Bollywood asks them to get rid of duality before preaching morality
Shoojit Sircar has never held himself back from saying what is necessary. The man is known to give quality content to Indian cinema and is one of the most respectable filmmakers of the country. Being one of the few ones who do not mince their words, Shoojit Sircar’s latest tweet takes a much-needed dig at Bollywood.
He posted a tweet asking Bollywood to get their ethics in check. It read, “Bollywood pahle hum to sudhar jaye… phir gyaan de duniya ko… naitikta( morality) per gyan ya protest zaroor karein lekin sath me pahle apna filmy ethics chk karo..pahle hum apne duality ko sudhare..”
While it is unclear as to which person or movie, in particular, he is calling out, the fans couldn’t stop praising him for his words.

Abundantia Entertainment partners with ADD Content to adapt one of the biggest Israeli Dramas The Missing in India
Global content creation and distribution company ADD Content has signed a deal with Vikram Malhotra-led Abundantia Entertainment to develop an Indian remake of hit YA drama The Missing which is originally called Ne’elamim in Israel. The original series, created by Yaron Arazi and produced by ADD Content, has had three hit seasons on Nickelodeon in Israel and has recently been commissioned for a fourth.
Abundantia Entertainment is India’s premier content creator with a focus on the progressive, evolving Indian youth sector, and will adapt The Missing under ‘FILTERS’ – its new content vertical focused on creating IP in the young adult genre.
The Missing is a compelling young adult skewed thriller which follows Emma and Alon, a brother and sister who move to a small town and quickly find out that nothing is quite as it seems in their new neighbourhood. The groundwater supply has been geologically poisoned, and three teenagers from their high school died under mysterious circumstances a few months earlier – but when an unexplainable photograph of them surfaces, the siblings begin to doubt that they know the full story.

Akshay Kumar reveals how Bhumi Pednekar landed the role in Durgavati
Bhushan Kumar and Akshay Kumar have been a good combination at the box office. Taking their successful association to the next level, they recently joined hands to present their next offering, Durgavati featuring Bhumi Pednekar in the title role, helmed by Bhaagamathie and director Ashok G.
Akshay Kumar, who is currently promoting Good Newwz, revealed how he thought of Bhumi Pednekar for the role and whether it was because of her recent string of performances. “No, nothing like that. I could have requested anybody else also. I thought it was an IPS female role and I thought she would fit the bill very well and I just want a girl next door kind of an image, very simple straight. So, I went and requested her and she agreed.”
When further asked if Durgavati is his first Hindi film that he is presenting, Akshay said, “No, I have done many films. I have made two Marathi films, Punjabi also. Durgavati will be my first Hindi film where I am not acting. No, actually Fugly was the first Hindi film with Kiara in it. So, I keep doing it. Whenever I get a good script.”
The makers have recently made an official announcement on social media about the thriller which is scheduled to go on floors by January 2020.
Presented by Akshay Kumar (Cape of Good Films) and Bhushan Kumar (T-Series), produced by Vikram Malhotra (Abundantia Entertainment), Bhushan Kumar (T-Series) and directed by Ashok G, the scary-thriller Durgavati is scheduled to go on floors mid-January.
Ranbir Kapoor – Deepika Padukone to reunite
For now Luv Ranjan has dropped his plans of making his film with Ajay Devgn, Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor. But hang on. There is good news for those waiting to see Deepika and Ranbir together again after Imtiaz Ali’s Tamasha in 2015. The pair will reunite for a love story directed by Luv Ranjan.
Sources say it a completely different project from the one that Ranjan had planned with Ajay Devgn. “For whatever reason, Devgn is not doing Luv Ranjan’s film, at least not for now. But Ranjan is going ahead with a quirky twisted love story with Deepika and Ranbir. It will be something that neither of two star-actors has ever attempted before,” says the source.
The one thing that we won’t see in 2020 is real-life pair Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone in a film together. And that’s the level of professionalism the real-life couple intends to exercise over their respective careers.
However the heartening news is that Deepika will be seen again with Ranbir Kapoor, the actor whom she dated and lost before she was courted and won over by Ranveer Singh. The film that will bring them together again after the successful Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani,

After severe backlash, Pati Patni Aur Woh makers replace ‘Balatkari’ with ‘Bad sanskaari’
When the trailer of Pati Patni Aur Woh was released, on one hand the majority of the people appreciated the content, writing and the chemistry of the lead star cast – Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday. However, a section of viewers were aghast with a dialogue that trivialized marital rape in the name of humour. The one-liner was, “Biwi se sex maang le toh hum bhikaari, biwi ko hum sex na de toh hum atyaachari, aur kisi tarah jugaad laga ke hum usse sex haasil kar le na, toh balatkari bhi hum hai”. The reactions were so extreme that the makers decided to drop the word ‘balatkari’ from the monologue of Kartik Aaryan in the film.
Now, it has come to light that instead of muting ‘balatkari’, the makers have instead replaced it with ‘bad sanskaari’! Also, this seems to be a voluntary modification done by the producers and not something that was done at the behest of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The CBFC, however, did ask for some additional changes in order to pass the film with U/A certificate. One of the changes was in the controversial dialogue itself. Instead of ‘usse sex haasil’, the dialogue was changed to ‘usko sex ke liye raazi kar le na’.
Then there were few more changes. The abusive words ‘c*****a’, ‘haraamzaade’ and ‘iski maa ka’ were muted wherever used. Then there’s a crucial scene in the mall where Bhumi Pednekar’s character asks a staffer about a Raymond showroom. To which the staffer had originally replied “Raymond showroom bandh ho gaya hai”. Realizing that this might sound like that the showroom has permanently shut down and mar the image of the clothing brand, the said dialogue was changed to “Raymond showroom aaj bandh ho gaya hai.”
Finally, disclaimers were asked to be added stating that the film is a piece of fiction, that the makers don’t intend to malign any individual or community and that the parrot and lizards shown in the film are created using computer graphics.
The final length of the film is 2 hours 8 minutes. Pati Patni Aur Woh releases tomorrow, that is, on December 6.
