Shah Rukh Khan to announce his next film in a month or two
The debacle of his last release Zero prompted Shah Rukh Khan to take a sabbatical. In a past interview, he also said he was planning to spend his leisure time watching films, reading more stories and being with the family. It’s not frequently that superstars can afford such long breaks, isn’t it? Looks like SRK is enjoying his, but fans are eager to hear of his comeback. Well, you don’t have to wait for long! Yesterday, at a Ted Talks India event, the actor revealed he was going to make an announcement regarding his next project within one to two months.

“I am thinking and taking some time. I am working on two or three scripts and, Inshallah, as soon as they are ready, I am ready. Because most of the people with whom I am working are busy so, Inshallah, I will announce it myself. I feel till the time rumours are floating around, it’s good because some of them have given me ideas,” he said.
In between, rumours also suggested that he was to appear as the antagonist in the Hindi remake of Kill Bill. However, producer Nikhil Dwivedi dismissed the rumours. And now, we heard it first-hand that there’s no truth to the news of SRK starring in Tarzan and Jane.
“There was one film people said that I am going to do — Tarzan and Jane. So, I really want to do the role of Tarzan (laughs), But no. I think, Inshallah, in another month or two, I will figure out everything,” he said.
Like we said, it is just a brief wait now!

An FIR was lodged on Thursday against celebrities including Ramchandra Guha, Mani Ratnam and Aparna Sen, who had written an open letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi raising concern over the growing incidents of mob lynching. As many as 49 celebrities who had opened the letter have been booked for tarnishing the image of the country and “supporting secessionist tendencies,” among others.

The case was lodged after an order was passed by Chief Judicial Magistrate Surya Kant Tiwari two months ago on a petition filed by local advocate Sudhir Kumar Ojha. While talking to a news agency, Mr Ojha said that the CJM had passed the order on August 20 accepting his petition upon the receipt of which an FIR was lodged at the Sardar police station.
In the petition, nearly 50 signatories were named as accused who allegedly “tarnished the image of the country and undermined the impressive performance of the prime minister” besides “supporting secessionist tendencies.”
The FIR was lodged under sections of the Indian Penal Code, including those relating to sedition, public nuisance, hurting religious feelings and insulting with intent to provoke breach of peace.
The letter was written by 49 eminent personalities, including filmmakers Mani Ratnam, Anurag Kashyap, Shyam Benegal, actor Soumitra Chatterjee as well as vocalist Shubha Mudgal in July this year.
It had said that the lynching of Muslims, Dalits and other minorities must be stopped immediately while stressing that there was “no democracy without dissent.” It also noted that Jai Shri Ram had been reduced to a “provocative war cry”.
Tara Sutaria learns sign language for Marjaavaan
A few days ago, the trailer of Milap Zaveri’s Marjaavaan was released and we couldn’t help but notice that the lead actress Tara Sutaria didn’t have a dialogue in the trailer. The young actor later revealed at the trailer launch event that her character Zoya is verbally-challenged in the film. The Student of the Year 2 actress learned sign language for a few months before she started filming with her sign language coach – Sangeeta Gala.

“Nowadays, it has become extremely important for actors to completely understand, and delve into the characters they’re playing. So, I’m lucky that I could spend those many months learning sign language with Sangeeta ma’am. The experience was amazing because she is a fantastic trainer,” says Tara. Gala, in the past, has worked on several movies such as Black, Guzaarish, and Barfi among others.
Tara says she took the decision to learn the sign language “as soon as Milap narrated her the script. “The moment he delved inside my character, I knew it would be required of me to learn sign language. And it’s amazing that I could learn it, not just for the film’s scenes but in general too,” she says.
The actor says Marjaavaan is “only my second film, but surely, the best one that I could have asked for.” Adding that she is grateful to the makers for casting her in such a “challenging and interesting part”, Tara is “absolutely thrilled”. She says: “I have worked really hard, and am happy to have picked up sign language to communicate in the film. Now, I hope people like my performance.”
Marjaavaan co-starring Siddharth Malhotra, Ritiesh Deshmukh, and Rakul Preet Singh is slated to release on 8th November 2019.

War: Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff’s film leaked online on second day after release
Ever since a face-off between Tiger Shroff and Hrithik Roshan was announced, fans could hardly contain their excitement. War released on October 2, and bagged as much as Rs 53 crore on its opening day itself! With the festive season on, we can only hope for it to run stronger. However, there might be a trouble in the makers’ paradise as War got leaked online, just on its second day after its release.

As per reports, an HD version of the film is available on the infamous piracy platform TamilRockers. In the past, innumerable of big films including Saaho, Judgementall Hai Kya, Kabir Singh, Bharat, India’s Most Wanted, Kalank, Gully Boy, De De Pyaar De, Student of the Year 2 and Thugs of Hindostan have fallen into the big bad trap of piracy, thanks to TamilRockers. While the site is officially banned, users can still access it using proxy servers.
Incidentally, a day prior to the release, Hrithik took to Twitter and requested everyone to not give out spoilers. ‘Hi Guys! I have a personal request to make. We have made #WAR with a lot of hard work, blood, sweat and love. Please protect our spoilers when you see the film because it will immensely add to everyone’s movie watching experience. Trusting you all with this, ‘ he wrote.
Reportedly, South release Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy is also a victim of piracy already.
Farhan Akhtar’s Toofan will be Robert De Niro’s Raging Bull?
While director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and his leading man Farhan Akhtar refuse to disclose whom their boxing bonanza Toofan is based on, sources inform that Farhan’s role models are Mohammad Ali and Robert de Niro in Raging Bull.

While the boxer’s resilience willpower passion and spiritualism are modelled on Ali, the physical preparation to play the boxer to perfection has taken Farhan into months of rigorous preparation that entailed a strict dietary regimen and also complete focus on the project on hand. Says a source close to the project, “As long as it takes for Toofan to be completed, Farhan remains fully committed to the project. There are no professional distractions whatsoever. Farhan has not taken up any other acting assignment after The Sky Is Pink which is now complete and awaiting release in October.”
According to the source Farhan won’t be taking on any directorial or acting assignments for the next one year. “In any case Farhan has not directed any film since Don 2 in 2011. As for acting, Farhan is currently living the boxer’s life,” says the source. One recalls Farhan’s full-scale commitment playing Milkha Singh in Rakeysh Ompraksh Mehra’s Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.
One recalls a physical preparation as intense as Farhan’s only once before, when Rajkummar Rao played a man trapped away from human contact for weeks in Vikramaditya Motwane’s Trapped. Says Mehra, “Farhan and I share a very special rapport. It’s to do with our commitment to tell a story about an individual whose life has a universal resonance.”
Who will star opposite Sonam Kapoor in Battle Of Bittora?
With Sonam K Ahuja’s pairing with the Malayalam star Dulquer Salmaan in the cricket film The Zoya Factor going for a toss, the question now being asked by Sonam and her sister Rhea Kapoor is, whom to sign for their prestigious home production The Battle Of Bittora?

The much-delayed film was to initially star Sonam Kapoor with Fawad Khan immediately after they made a solid combination in Khoobsurat. But Fawad had to abruptly leave Bollywood and The Battle Of Bittora was put on hold.
While Sonam worked with Dulquer Salmaan in The Zoya Factor, she felt he was the right fit for The Battle Of Bittora. But now with The Zoya Factor proving a box office dud, the hunt is on for a new male star to be paired with Sonam.
That’s easier said than done.
A source close to the development reveals, “The Battle Of Bittora is again a heroine-driven project. With Sonam as a producer most if not all leading men would feel they would be side-lined.”
Until recently an actor as brilliant as Rajkummar Rao had the confidence to play second fiddle to Kangana Ranaut in Queen and Judgementall Hai Kya. But now Rao is doing a film like Made In China that revolves around his character. Sonam would find it increasingly hard to find herself leading men who would be willing to let her take centre stage.
