Raksha Bandhan (starring Akshay Kumar) will have a Theatrical Release

Raksha Bandhan (starring Akshay Kumar) will have a Theatrical ReleaseRaksha Bandhan, directed by Anand L. Rai and starring Akshay Kumar, will have a theatrical release this year coinciding perfectly with the annual Raksha Bandhan festival. The director confirmed this good news. Raksha Bandhan, as the name suggests, is an emotional story of the eternal bond between brothers and sisters. The story is based in the small towns of India. It is Anand L. Rai’s second consecutive film with Akshay Kumar after the super hit film Atrangi Re. The director talked with Akshay Kumar about the plot of Raksha Bandhan, and our hero instantly agreed.

According to Anand L. Rai, this film is like a detox process for him after conceiving and directing a film like Atrangi Re, which is based on complex emotions. Thematically, Raksha Bandhan sticks with the basic emotion of love between siblings. However, according to the director (and I’ll paraphrase), truly doing justice to such a profound, powerful, fundamental emotion as love was a difficult challenge indeed. He drew upon all his life lessons in drafting the story of Raksha Bandhan. It is an authentic, honest film about the bonding between brothers and sisters.

Anand L. Rai confirmed the theatrical release of this film on August 11, 2022. The date coincides with the Raksha Bandhan festival, celebrated all over India. The film shootings at Mumbai and Delhi have been completed, and Akshay Kumar talked about what a wonderful time he’d had during the shooting. The film also features Bhumi Pednekar as a lead actor. The director is confident about the scheduled date for the theatrical release of the film and said that there would be no change in plans. Raksha Bandhan is produced by Zee Studios, Colour Yellow Productions, and Cape of Good Films.
