Guru Randhawa gets severely injured as a man punches him during a Canada concert!
Singer-actor Guru Randhawa recently became a victim of violence when he was in Canada for a performance. We all are aware of the massive fan following that the singer enjoys across the globe. The singing star, who was in Vancouver, all excited to perform for the audience, politely refused a man when he was trying to come on stage. While the said man’s attempts continued, he also ended up getting into a brawl with the crew. But it all ended up getting worse, when he punched Guru after the concert.
Guru Randhawa, who went backstage after completing his performance, was punched by the said man. The Punjabi singer returned to the stage to show the audience, the wounds he faced. The entire incident was shared on Facebook by the team of the singer-actor wherein they said, “Guru is back in India with four stitches on his right eyebrow and mega successful USA/Canada tour. The incident happened on 28th July in Vancouver when Guru told one punjabi man not to come on stage while he was performing for the audience. That man was trying to come on stage again and again and then he started fighting with everyone backstage. He was known to the local promoter Surinder who sent him away during the show. But at the end when Guru finished the show and was leaving the stage, that punjabi man came and hit him hard on his face with a punch, because of which Guru started bleeding on the spot from his forehead above eyebrow and went back to stage and showed it to the audience. That man was with few others and whosoever tried to stop them, they were punching them and then they all ran away. Guru is home now feeling safe in India. And Guru Said , his Guru Nanak Dev ji has saved him and prayed to Waheguru to give that man a good sense of understanding what to do and what not to. Your love and support is all we need always.”
The great David Dhawan-Govinda split
One of the most successful director-actor duos of Bollywood are friends no more. Close friends of Govinda and David Dhawan have known about the Great Divide for years. Now the war is out in the open. In a recent interview to television journalist Rajat Sharma, Govinda has spoken on his rift with Dhawan in a highly sarcastic and critical tone.
Said Govinda, “I don’t think even his son will do 17 movies with him.. because he is David Dhawan’s son and he’s educated. I didn’t even know the meaning of doing that many movies with a director. …I did not even treat my relatives the way I treated him. Even my brother is a director but I haven’t done 17 films with him….I don’t know what he was expecting but when I narrated him the concept of Chashme Badoor, he started doing it with Rishi Kapoor, without even keeping me in the loop. When my secretary was in conversation with him, I had changed a little as I left politics. I had asked my secretary to keep the phone on speaker while talking to him, and that’s when I heard, ‘Chi Chi has started questioning way too much. I don’t want to work with him anymore. Ask him to do any small role that he gets’.”
While David refused to react to this belated rant, a source close to David said, “Even David can make a lot of claims as to why their friendship soured. And if Govinda thinks the 17 films that he did with David are reason for David to be eternally indebted to him then David too could turn around and say the same. But he won’t.”
The source adds that the cause for Govinda’s bitterness is professional jealousy. “Govinda didn’t like it when David began working with other actors like Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt. It happens with the best of the director-star duos. It took Salman Khan ten years to forgive Sanjay Leela Bhansali for working with Shah Rukh Khan after doing three films with Salman.”
The source says David is fine with Govinda’s tirade. “It shows how deeply Govinda cares for David. Only those who are close to you can hurt you. David knew that. He will reach out to his angry friend once the temperature cools down,” says the source.
Taapsee Pannu lived with the revolver dadis before shooting for Saand Ki Aankh!
There is no doubt that Taapsee Pannu is one of the finest actors of her generation. The powerhouse performer always goes the extra mile, when it comes to getting under the skin of her character. For her film Saand Ki Aankh, produced by Reliance Entertainment, Anurag Kashyap, Nidhi Parmar & Chalk n Cheese Films and directed by Tushar Hiranandani, Taapsee spent a lot of time with Chandro and Prakashi Tomar, on whom the film is based.
During the one month shoot of the film in Meerut, the talented actress also stayed at Chandro’s house for a month. In fact, she had got so close to the two legends, that she would have lunch at Prakashi’s house and dinner Chandro’s house!
Saand Ki Aankh follows the inspiring story of the world’s oldest sharpshooters, Chandro & Prakashi fondly known as the “Revolver Dadis”. Not only did Taapsee spend a week getting to know them but also stayed in their original home in the interiors of UP, to better understand the kind of lives they lead and interact with their family and neighbors.
Says a source, ” Taapsee wanted to experience the village life first hand and get to know the dadis and their story. She stayed at their home for a week, before the film went on floors. In fact, a lot of jewellery and outfits she sports in the film has been borrowed from their actual wardrobe”.
Talking about her experience, Taapsee says, “It was the best experience for me so far. Living in Johri and spending time with these two ladies, who has strength and compassion was very inspiring. There were so many stories to hear from them and so much to learn.”

When Ajay Devgn visited the Shree Nagnath Mahadev temple in Mandvi with famous Gujarati folk singer Yogesh Gadhvi, yesterday, little did he know that his casual attire would get him trolled on social media. The folk singer had put the pictures up on his social media on Sunday and the pic went viral soon after with many trolling the star, saying shorts was not the correct outfit to wear to a temple.
The actor was wearing a blue, collared T-shirt with denim shorts. He has been shooting in Mandvi, Gujarat, for Bhuj: The Pride Of India for the last week and has just completed a song there. From today he starts shooting the climax portion and other important scenes in the movie.
On a Sunday break, Ajay, who is known to be a deeply spiritual person, visited the temple. While some Hindu temples in India don’t have a strict policy about attire, others don’t allow western clothes, including jeans and shorts as they term it inappropriate. Men can wear dhotis or pyjamas with kurtas or formal shirts and trousers while women can wear saris or long skirts or dresses. Many have endorsed the move to initiate dress codes for devotees visiting temples.
Says a source, “It was a day off for him and Ajay was relaxing. Knowing the stickler for rules and discipline that he is, he may have made enquiries about what to wear before he went to the temple. Also, when one is doing a puja, it’s a very personal and private act, so he could not have been comfortable about posting pictures on social media. Ajay is a very proper person and aware about social and religious proprieties and would never go against them deliberately. After his visit to the temple, he met many distinguished members of Mandvi.”

Govinda REVEALS the inspiration behind his character in Coolie No. 1
Govinda recently appeared on India TV’s Aap Ki Adalat show where he spoke about topics and revealed facts that were under wraps until now. From his fallout with David Dhawan and deciding that he will never work with him to refusing a role in James Cameron’s blockbuster, Avatar; Chi-Chi did not hold himself back from being unapologetic and unabashed about situations around him. He also spoke about his way of choosing characters during the beginning of his career.
Govinda spoke about his character in Coolie No. 1 in detail and how the character along with many others was inspired by real-life encounters. As for his character, he came across this man in a function that he attended and said, “I came across this man in a function that I attended and his eyes were big and popped out, I couldn’t get his eyes out of my head. And before I could ask him about his whereabouts, the police cornered him.” He further elaborated, “While I was shooting with Kader Khan sahab, it had been nine hours and even he wondered why I was thinking so much about a character, so I explained it to him that what we’re doing seems very monotonous. And that is when this guy clicked, so I took their permission and showed them my act, the scene later became a super hit one.”

Shahid Kapoor spoke about how Kabir Singh is a character that is meant to be hated. At the same time, he also maintained that films with grey protagonists should be purely viewed as a film and nothing more. During the Bollywood Hungama exclusive interview, Shahid Kapoor had even maintained that Kabir Singh had anger management issues and had nothing against women per say. While speaking about performance and good reviews, he narrated an incident where his colony aunties loved the film.
It is a known fact that despite the misogyny and toxic masculinity rumours, the film was appreciated by women equally. The actor said, “My office is just five minutes away from my house. It is in the B wing. This was 5-6 days after the film released. There were these 7-8 aunties who have their sessions where they are just sitting and chatting. They are all in their mid 40s-50s. I was just going to the lift and one of the aunties called me. They were around ten of them. When I came to them, they all looked at me and said, ‘We loved the film’. It was so weird that it came at the time when I was reading so many things about the film.”
Coming to the film, Kabir Singh is a remake of the Telugu blockbuster Arjun Reddythat is also directed by Sandeep Vanga. The film features Kiara Advani as the leading lady along with Arjan Bajwa, Suresh Oberoi, and Nikita Dutta playing pivotal roles.

Ayushmann Khurrana recently wrapped the shoot for Gulabo Sitabo in Lucknow, where the team shot for the entire film on a nonstop schedule. Sacred Games: Saif Ali Khan just revealed that he ‘doubts’ if his wife Kareena Kapoor Khan or daughter Sara Ali Khan have watched it!
Well fans of the first season of the gangster drama are eagerly waiting for the release of Sacred Games 2 which is scheduled for next month. The trailer of the second season has managed to garner a good response, thanks to the immense positive response that was showered on the first season of Sacred Games. As Saif Ali Khan is all set to turn Sartaj Singh on the screen yet again, he revealed an interesting observation and wondered if his wife Kareena Kapoor Khan or daughter Sara Ali Khan watched the show back home.
Saif Ali Khan recently stated during an interaction that he highly doubts if his wife Kareena Kapoor Khan or daughter Sara Ali Khan caught up on the show. Reasoning further, he spoke about how he received feedback from people who were religiously catching up the show, with some even revisiting it. However, he maintained that he didn’t get any from back home and hence he believes that neither of them has watched the show.

Pulkit Samrat turns chef on the sets of John Abraham starrer Pagalpanti; makes delicious snacks!
Pagalpanti which went on floor earlier this year in London has been nearing its finish line. The film that features John Abraham and Ileana D’Cruz in lead roles also stars Pulkit Samrat and the latter seems to have had a gala time on the sets of this Anees Bazmee directorial. And the proof of the same is the way the actor turned chef for everyone and decided to make some yum Indian delicacies.
In a recent series of photos, we can see Pulkit Samrat posing with a huge stove, woks and an equally huge skimmer ladle. Going by the photos it looks like Pulkit was busy making snacks and sweets for his team which included bhajiyas and vadas. Needless to say, the actor was all smiles as he was enjoying his cooking session. Looks like he was all set to be a master chef next! We hear that the actor was seen doing this as a part of Pagalpanti.

Sonakshi Sinha was allotting seats to the audiences when Salman Khan discovered her and cast her for the super hit Bollywood film Dabangg which happened to be her debut movie. Sonakshi and rapper Badshah recently attended The Kapil Sharma Show on Sony Entertainment Television wherein they shared their funniest tales and deepest secrets along with Kapil who too was seen in his usual fun elements. The two visited the show to promote their upcoming comedy-drama Khandaani Shafakhana and while sharing insights from the movie, she also shared the story of how she got her role in the Salman Khan movie Dabangg.
Sonakshi Sinha, who has done films like Lootera, Ittefaq, Akira, and Rowdy Rathorein the past, revealed that acting was never on her list until Salman showed faith in her. The actress always had a heavy built and thus never thought of getting into acting. She was working as an audience manager in a fashion show when Salman discovered her. In conversation with Kapil, Sonakshi Sinha said, “I was at a fashion show working as an audience manager and Salman was sitting in the audience. He already knew that I was Shatrughan Sinha’s daughter and he came to me humbly and suggested me to lose weight as he looked forward to casting me in his movie.” She further shared her conversation with Salman by saying, “I was extremely elated and seeing me excited, he jokingly asked me to treat him to celebrate this news but I only had Rs. 3000 in my wallet. Yes! Imagine the star asking for a treat and I was having only Rs. 3000 that too what I earned from that fashion show.”

After the first schedule in Hyderabad, with Sanjay Dutt and Sonakshi Sinha, Ajay Devgn and the actress shot a lavish song number in Mandvi in Gujarat, with a grand set and over 300 background dancers, for Bhuj: The Pride Of India. Now, Ajay is shooting at Kathda village in Mandvi taluka where a huge set has been constructed – of a fort, and fighter plane models, for around 15-20 days of shooting, to shoot portions of the climax. The filming began with an introductory scene of Devgn, in Bhuj last week and will culminate with action-packed finale with him, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi, Rana Daggubati, Parineeti Chopra and Ammy Virk. The movie is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Ginny Khanuja, Vajir Singh and Kumar Mangat Pathak and directed by Abhishek Dudhaiya.
Says a trade source, “The initial plan was to shoot in Bhuj; but due to security reasons, as the village is near the India-Pakistan border, the makers kicked off the first schedule by recreating Madhapur village at Ramoji studios in Hyderabad. In Kathda village, a set of the Bhuj airport and replicas of IAF fighter planes have been constructed for action-packed climax sequences to take place here. Sonakshi is flying in and out of Bhuj for the shooting as she’s promoting her movie Khandaani Shafakhana too. He will be joined soon by Sanjay Dutt and Ammy Virk, who plays an IAF fighter pilot. Indian Air Force (IAF) base commander, Squadron Leader Vijay Kumar Karnik (Devgn), along with two other officers, 50 IAF and 60 Defence Security Corps personnel kept the Bhuj airbase operational and airstrip ready, during the 1971 Indo-Pakistani war, to receive a squadron of fighter planes from Punjab. He was helped by 300 villagers, mostly women, who took up the task of repairing the airstrip. Sonakshi plays Sunderben Jetha Madharparya, a social worker, from Madhapur, who convinced the local women to help rebuild the only runway in Bhuj that was bombed by the Pakistani army.”
The source adds that the producers wish to make this film on an ambitious, real yet grand scale so some of the best technicians have been employed for Bhuj: The Pride of India, directed by Abhishek Dudhaiya. “The makers are sparing no expenses to make sure that the film is a visual treat for the audiences. It was a historic event which needed to be showcased for all to see. Last week, Ajay and Sonakshi shot for a maha aarti song at a specially erected set in Kutch. The song is choreographed by Ganesh Acharya, who has choreographed such lavish songs like Simmba and Singham’s title tracks and Golmaal Returns. The climax of the war drama will be shot at Kathda village in Mandvi over the next fortnight. National Award-winning action choreographer and stunt coordinator Peter Hein, along with action and stunt designing teams from Bulgaria and Vietnam, will be choreographing the high-paced thrilling action and war sequences in the film. After Bhuj, the team shifts to Lucknow, Hyderabad, Bhopal, Indore and Mumbai and completes the shoot.”
Sanjay Dutt plays civilian, Ranchordas Svabhai Ravari, who helped the Indian Army win the war, Rana Daggubati plays Madras regiment Lt Colonel who was posted in Vighakot chowki and fought the Indo-Pak 1971 war, Parineeti Chopra plays Heena Rehman, an Indian spy staying in Lahore in the movie and Ammy Virk, a fighter pilot in the IAF, who played a very crucial role in this historic win. The movie will release on Independence Day next year.
Amitabh Bachchan REVEALS how his family adopted the surname ‘Bachchan’
He is known by his name and Amitabh Bachchan remains to be one of the most respected superstars of this country. He is also fondly known as the Big ‘B’! But did you know that his original surname was ‘Bachchan’. Amitabh has taken to his tumblr blog wherein he has explained that how his father Harivanshrai took up his pen name as his surname.
Amitabh Bachchan explained that the word ‘Bachchan’ was just a nom de plume but when the actor was taking admission in school, his parents decided to use it as a surname. He said, “The caste system in the land has been prevalent for centuries, followed diligently by many and now defied by many too. An ailment that has plagued our society or not by some. Babuji was a strong opposer of the caste system, the surname in Indian names described and related to a particular caste .. Srivastav, Sahai, Verma, Mathur the Kayasth caste ; Sharma, Iyer the Brahmin upper caste, Singh the Kshatriya , the warriors fighters .. and on .. Babuji was born in a Kayasth home and a Srivastav .. but his temperament was always against the ailment of caste .. his nome d plume , his ‘takhallus’ his pen name he designed as ‘BACHCHAN’ .. poets writers of great eminence often designed their names with a nom d plume ..”
He went on to add, “So, ‘Bachchan’ became my Father’s pen name, his poetic nom d plume .. but it lent credence of its concept later when I was born .. on being admitted to my first School, and being asked by the teachers what surname of this boy was to be filled in the admission form .. my Mother and Father had a quick discussion and it was decided that ‘Bachchan’ would be the family surname .. I then became the first bearer of the surname Bachchan .. and it has remained so .. and shall remain so ..”
Kangana Ranaut flaunts her new Mercedes post the success of Judgementall Hai Kya!
The unconventional suspense drama Judgementall Hai Kya starring Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao released last week to decent responses. The actress, who is basking in the success of the film, has taken off to Manali before she kicks off the Jayalalitha biopic. Needless to say, she has been celebrating the positive response that the film has been receiving and her new gift was a part of it too. Her latest gift post the release of the film was this plush Mercedes SUV.
Kangana Ranaut recently posed with her brand new Merc GLE which falls within the price range of Rs. 61 – 77 lakhs. Certain reports claim that the said Mercedes SUV was gifted to Kangana Ranaut by her sister and manager Rangoli Chandel. It is being said that Kangana didn’t have a car at her Manali residence where she has owns a lavish bungalow and that Rangoli decided to gift her a car post the success of Judgementall Hai Kya.
On the other hand, Kangana Ranaut is currently having a gala time in Manali and she even went for a picnic to Spiti Valley. The actress’ team has shared videos and photos from her Manali trip. In the video, Kangana is seen thanking the audience and everyone for watching her recent release with Rajkummar Rao and for showering it with good reviews.
Coming to her forthcoming films, Kangana also has Panga in pipeline for release and besides Jayalalitha biopic; she has also signed the action drama Dhaakad.
