Hrithik Roshan starrer Super 30 collections hit the roof; Anand Kumar is over the moon
The collections tell their own story. And a pretty spectacular one at that. The box office collections of Hrithik Roshan starrer Super 30 show an unprecedented growth, growing by almost 55 – 60 percent in some places on Day 2 and even more on Day 3.
Anand Kumar on whose life this moving and inspiring film is made can barely contain his excitement. “Nothing has come to me easily in life. If I had to struggle to educate the children whom a section of society thought to be fit only for lowly work and jobs, then I also had to struggle to see the film on my struggle being made and completed. As you know, Anurag Basu was to originally direct the film. We spent nearly two years meeting and collaborating. But that didn’t work out. Now that it’s finally happened I am happy beyond words.”
Anand has words of praise for the writer and director. “The scriptwriter Sanjiv Dutta and director Vikas Bahl worked relentlessly to give shape to my life on screen.”
Anand intends to celebrate the success of his bio-pic with close friends and family. “Unfortunately I don’t have too many friends. In Bihar, the joy of seeing someone else succeed is almost unknown. Here if you achieve success in realizing your dream they try to pull you down. I suspect the film’s success will give rise to renewed debate on how facts have been distorted to make me look good in the story. But I know the truth about what I’ve gone through in life.”
R Madhavan to star alongside debutante Khushali Kumar in Dahi Cheeni
Bollywood Hungama, a few days ago, exclusively revealed that R Madhavan will be making a comeback with a Hindi film which will star Khushali Kumar opposite him. Now, it has been confirmed that they will be coming together in a film titled Dahi Cheeni.
The young & gorgeous talent Khushali Kumar will showcase her acting prowess in her debut film titled Dahi Cheeni, a quirky take on slice-of-life human drama. Khushali auditioned for her role and eventually bagged her debut film on her acting merit. Directed by debutant filmmaker Ashwin Neal Mani, Dahi Cheeni is scheduled to go on floors in August this year.
Speaking about her first film, Khushali said, "Like any other artist I’m very excited for my first film. I’ve worked really very hard for this prep, right from auditions to the prep, it’s been a journey. I’m so kicked to start the first schedule very soon. And it’s scary to stand next to Maddy but I have made up my mind and am ready to go at it full throttle”.
The film will be directed by debutant director Ashwin Neal Mani. Speaking about the film, he says, “It is my debut film so I was a bit finicky about each and every detail and the actors were my biggest concern. Then I met Khushali and in due time she proved to me that no one else could do a better job. I saw her living the character that I essayed and today after 8 months I am overjoyed to say that she is the perfect leading lady for the film.”
Hrithik Roshan and Anand Kumar rejoice as Super 30 turns tax free in Bihar
Opening to rave reviews, Hrithik Roshan has been winning hearts as Anand Kumar in Super 30. The actor is playing this role of a Bihar based professor for the first time and needless to say, his fans have loved his new avatar. As readers would be aware, the film talks about providing equal academic opportunities to the underprivileged and considering the work that Anand Kumar has done in his hometown, it doesn’t come as a surprise that the Bihar Government has declared Super 30 as tax free.
Readers would be aware that Super 30 revolves around the concept of Super 30 batch where the said number of talented yet underprivileged students are provided with basic necessities and academic training for the IIT-JEE exams. Considering the importance of education that is often stressed in this country, the government decided that they will cancel the entertainment tax that will be charged along with the ticket price for Super 30. Thrilled by the news, Anand Kumar took to Twitter to share the happiness saying, “Thanks a lot to CM Nitish Kumar ji and Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi ji making ‘Super 30’ tax free. It will help more and more people see the film.”
Hrithik Roshan too took the platform when he came across this news saying, “This is amazing Anand Sir thank you CM @NitishKumar ji and Deputy CM @SushilModi ji for this.”
Super 30 is directed by Vikas Bahl and stars Mrunal Thakur, Nandish Sandhu amongst others in lead roles. The film hit the big screens, last week, on July 12.

Last week, she sassed Rangoli Chandel on Twitter, and this time around she has taken a jibe at none other than Kabir Singh director Sandeep Vanga Reddy. A very disturbing news is doing rounds about a guy smashing his 19 year old girlfriend’s head for suspecting her of infidelity.
Taapsee retweeted this news with a statement, “Or maybe let’s just say they were madly in love with each other n this ‘act’ was to validate his TRUE love for her.” She was taking a dig at Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s problematic statement about justifying hitting women under the pretext of love.
This caused trolls to get upset with her but she had a fitting reply for them. She said, “Statutory warning: people with no sense of sarcasm kindly ignore me n my tweet. Thank you , it was nice not knowing you.”
Laxmmi Bomb: Jab We Met’s Anshuman to play villain in this Akshay Kumar starrer
Akshay Kumar is all set and raring to go after coming into to the horror movie space! He will be seen in Laxmmi Bomb which is a remake of a hit South franchise: Kanchana. The movie will have him play a transgender ghost and his villain is none other than Tarun Arora, who played Kareena Kapoor Khan’s boyfriend in Jab We Met!
Tarun has worked with director Raghava Lawrence in Kanchana 2 and is all set to repeat his corrupt MLA act in the Hindi version too. Tarun’s last memorable role in Hindi was in Jab We Met and his character in this film is definitely a departure from that character.
Laxmmi Bomb is slated to release on June 5, 2020 and it is produced by Fox Star Studios. Also, Akshay is returning to horror/ thriller space after about 12 years. His last film was Bhool Bhulaiyaa and it was memorable for his fans due to his crackling performance.
Dabangg 3: Salman Khan to romance Mahesh Manjrekar’s younger daughter Saiee
Speculations were rife that Salman Khan was all set to be seen with Mahesh Manjrekar’s elder daughter Ashwami Manjrekar in his next film, Dabangg 3. But it looks like, not Ashwami but her younger sister Saiee will be seen with Salman in the film.
According to reports, Saiee Manjrekar will play Salman’s love interest during his younger days in the film. While Sonakshi Sinha will play the love of his life in the later part, Saiee will be his early romance. Both have shot for their portions which also consists a song. Dabangg will have Salman’s character Chulbul Pandey’s flashback and current lives.
Salman has just released Bharat and the box office collections were great for the film. After Dabangg 3, he will dive straight into Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Inshallah.

Boman Irani to be awarded at Bollywood Festival Norway in Oslo
Class actor Boman Irani will be awarded for his outstanding contribution to cinema at the 17th Bollywood Festival Norway in Oslo on September 6th 2019. A special Masterclass with Boman Irani will be hosted by Bollywood Hungama‘s Faridoon Shahryar on September 7th in the presence of the cultural and political dignitaries of Norway.

Meer Foundation is a philanthropic foundation named after Shah Rukh Khan’s father Meer Taj Mohammed Khan which aims to effect change at ground level and works to build a world that empowers women. One of the key focus areas under women empowerment has been to support the cause of acid attack survivors. The Foundation provides support to women victims of acid attacks and major burn injuries through a 360-degree approach that helps them with their medical treatment, legal aid, vocational training as well as rehabilitation and livelihood support. Karan Johar to produce a web version of Student Of The Year
Karan Johar is all set take the OTT media by storm. He’s already into lending his prestigious banner’s name to several made-for-web series. But the one that his fans may find the most exciting is the web adaptation of the Student of The Year franchise which is now being worked on.
The first Student Of The Year (SOTY) film which came in 2012 gave Bollywood three major stars Sidharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan while the second SOTY film released this year got a lukewarm response from the audience.
Undeterred by the underperformance of SOTY 2, Karan Johar has got his team working on expanded series-version of the story. Apparently the students from both the films will be presented in a new avatar in the web series. The plot and the drama will be completely different in packaging and presentation.
We really can’t wait to see where Karan Johar takes the web series with this large-screen franchise which needs a new avatar.
Priyanka Chopra ends her 15-year court battle with former secretary
Priyanka Chopra’s former secretary and manager Prakash Jaju who had filed a lawsuit against his star-client in 2004 for breach of contract, has decided to call a truce. The two had been fighting a long hard court battle for 15 years now. In a surprise move they’ve both decided to step back and let bygones be bygones.
A source close to this unexpected development reveals, “Their bitterness and animosity have faded with time. Priyanka Chopra has moved on in life, far far ahead of where Jaju had left off. The last thing she wants is an arduous court battle in India. She took the peace offering and both parties have called off their legal battle.”
While details of the out-of-court settlement are not known yet, one does remember how determined Prakash Jaju was to get justice for himself. In 2014 a film entitled 67 Days was announced in which Jaju was all set to spill the beans regarding Priyanka’s personal life. One wonders what happened to that proposed film. Or how Jaju has been compensated for the 67 days that he had to spend in jail for charges of alleged extortion and blackmail that Ms Chopra had made against him.
As they say, all is well that ends well.
WAR: Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff get into ACTION MODE, the film to release on October 2

Post Super 30 release, Hrithik Roshan to finally visit Patna
Post the release of Super 30, based on the inspiring life and struggle of world-renowned mathematician Anand Kumar, the film’s leading man Hrithik Roshan would finally make it to Anand Kumar’s hometown Patna early this week.
For the first time, we may add. Which is odd, considering almost the entire film is Patna-based (though shot in Varanasi). Confirming this, a source from the film’s production team informs, “Hrithik has never been to Patna. After playing Anand Kumar his popularity in Bihar has reached hysterical proportions. So it’s only fair that he visit Patna.”
A huge security bandobast is being arranged for Hrithik’s visit to Bihar’s capital where he is expected to land early next week. Anand Kumar is expected to join Hrithik Roshan in Patna to meet and greet fans.
Incidentally, the film’s tainted director Vikas Bahl who was called out for alleged sexual harassment, remains distanced from the public eye in spite of the film’s success.
Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan: Ayushmann Khurrana to reunite with onscreen parents Gajraj Rao and Neena Gupta
It’s going to be a reunion of Badhaai Ho team in Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan. The modern-day hero Ayushmann Khurrana will essay the role of a gay man in Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan. And now Neena Gupta and Gajraj Rao, Ayushmann’s onscreen parents from Badhaai Ho, have been roped in for the sequel of the 2017 sleeper hit.
When the story was narrated to Neena Gupta and Gajraj Rao, they loved it and immediately came on board. They play a couple in this film too but will be starring in completely different avatars. The film will tackle the subject of homosexuality in a light-hearted manner. Filmmaker Aanand L Rai said that they are choosing to explore a novel subject with this film and they needed actors like Neena and Gajraj in the film.
Earlier, Ayushmann, in a statement, said, “It is a beautiful story told in the quintessential Aanand L Rai style of filmmaking that will touch your hearts and leave a smile on your face. It is one of the most brilliant films that I have read in a long time and it handles the subject of homosexuality really sensitively. It is a pleasure to collaborate again with the master storyteller of our times. It is an out and out entertaining film that will also make you think and that’s the hallmark of good cinema.”
Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan is set to release on February 14, 2020. The film, produced by Aanand L Rai, will be directed by Hitesh Kewalya. It will clash with Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan’s love story which is being directed by Imtiaz Ali.

What Eid is to Salman Khan, Independence Day is to Akshay Kumar! Barring 2014, he has had a release in this beneficial period in all the years from 2013 to 2017 – Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara (2013), Brothers (2015), Rustom (2016), Toilet – Ek Prem Katha (2017) and Gold (2018). 2019 will be no exception as he’s all set to unveil an unconventional space drama, Mission Mangal on August 15. The 45 second teaser was unveiled on July 8 and it got a very encouraging response. Now it has to come light that its trailer will be out on Thursday July 18.
Says a source associated with the project, “The trailer launch will be a grand affair. Not just Akshay Kumar but the actress, or the main pillars of the film – Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari and Nithya Menen will also be present. The team of the film also plan to spruce up the multiplex, where the launch will take place, with some space theme, keeping in mind the fact that it’s based on a group of space scientists.”
The source adds, “It is sure to be one of the most exciting events of the year. Akshay Kumar, as we all know, is at his wittiest best at events. He’s sure to entertain one and all with his one-liners. Media and aam junta will also get to see off-screen camaraderie of the actresses which the team promises will be a surprise of the event.”
Mission Mangal is not a solo release on August 15. Two more films – Prabhas-starrer Saaho and the hard-hitting Batla House, starring John Abraham, will also be hitting screens on the same day. Trade is concerned as to how three big films can come on the same day. The source continues, “The media will surely be present in full force as they’ll love to know what Akshay has to say about this clash. John had given his opinion at the Batla House trailer launch and it’ll be interesting to see what Akshay has to say on this clash.” Besides the cast, director Jagan Shakti and co-producer R Balki will also be in attendance.
The trailer of Mission Mangal will be out immediately on the internet after the launch. For those wanting to see it on the big screen, they can do so from Friday July 19 onwards. The trailer will be attached with the prints of the much awaited Hollywood flick The Lion King. “Fox Star Studios has backed Mission Mangal and they are in tie-up now with Walt Disney, producers of The Lion King. Hence, it makes sense to have Mission Mangal’s trailer with the Jon Favreau-directorial.”
Mission Mangal is based on the Mangalyaan space mission that was launched by Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on November 5, 2013. It was India’s first such mission and it made ISRO the fourth space agency in the world after Roscosmos, NASA and the European Space Agency, to reach Mars. The film shall focus majorly on the group of women scientists who played a significant role in this feat.

Ali Abbas Zafar has been one of the finest new-age directors and most of his movies have crossed 200 crore mark at the box office. His last release Bharat, starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif has won hearts all across the country and the fans still can’t stop gushing about it. For his first production venture, there haven’t been any more details out except for the fact that Ishaan Khatter was roped in to be his lead protagonist.
Now, we have news that Ananya Panday has been roped in as the female lead and this will mark the first collaboration between the trio. There are reports that director Varun Sharma, who has been working under Ali’s guidance for quite some time now, will be helming this untitled project. This is the first time that the fans will get to enjoy Ananya and Ishaan’s pair onscreen for the first time and we can’t wait to watch them create magic with their stellar performances.
Ananya Panday is currently shooting for Pati Patni Aur Woh in Lucknow and Ishaan Khatter has not announced anything on the professional front.
