Neerja director Ram Madhvani’s next will be a search for Kohinoor
Ram Madhvani, who last helmed Neerja, is set for his next directorial venture. His last project won National Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi. Now, moving on, the filmmaker will be working with a studio in his original script. It is a comedy and action film which will focus on finding the real Kohinoor diamond.
Currently, Ram Madhvani has been enjoying co-writing. He is also working on the projects and developing them with his company Equinox Features. They are working on a project based on climate change.
Ram Madhvani is also rumoured to have pitched a story to Shahid Kapoor but it hasn’t been confirmed yet.
Parineeti Chopra roped in as brand ambassador for ADEX India
Asia Dive Expo (ADEX) has over the years gained popularity for convening the various industry sectors, thought leaders, key decision makers and communities from the world of diving, marine and ocean conservation on a single platform. Now we hear that the international expo has moved to India, with its first expo commencing from today, October 4. If that wasn’t enough, we also hear that Parineeti Chopra has been roped in as the Indian brand ambassador for ADEX.
Commenting on her association with ADEX, Parineeti Chopra stated that since diving was not only her passion but also a recreation that motivates her, and like here there are so many others in India who would like to know more about this spot, it was a delight for her to support ADEX. Interestingly, ADEX Mumbai 2019 is dedicated to an ocean plastic free future and will see diving exhibits, try-outs, conferences, galleries, panel discussions and a host of other activities. As for Parineeti Chopra, the actress will also attend the EXPO and interact with participants.
Back on the film front, Parineeti Chopra who was last seen in Jabariya Jodi will next be seen in Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, Bhuj: The Pride of India and the Hindi remake of the film The Girl on the Train.
Arvind Swamy to play MG Ramachandran in Kangana Ranaut starrer Thalaivi
Kangana Ranaut is pulling all strings to step into the shoes of Tamil superstar turned politician Jayalalithaa, in her biopic which is titled Thalaivi. From learning Bharatnatyam, Tamil and sitting through long sessions to get the prosthetics right, the actor is doing it all.
However, the retelling of J Jayalalithaa’s life would be incomplete without a mention of the late actor-politician MG Ramachandran, or MGR, as he was popularly known. The former chief minister of Tamil Nadu had played an integral role in Jayalalithaa political innings. It has now been confirmed that South actor Arvind Swamy, who was last seen in Bollywood in Dear Dad and best remembered for his roles in Mani Ratnam’s Roja and Bombay, will play the role of MGR.
A source from trade, who is privy to the developments revealed, “MGR and Jayalalithaa starred in 28 box-office hits between 1965 and 1973. While the makers needed a worthy actor to do justice to his role, another criterion was that the artiste is fluent in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. Arvind satisfied both criteria. The unit will kick off Thalaivi’s shoot with Kangana from the first week of November in Mysore, and Arvind will join her on November 15.”
In charting Jayalalithaa’s journey from her teenage years, the AL Vijay-directed and Shailesh R Singh-produced venture will shed light on how MGR became her mentor as she forayed into politics through his party, AIADMK.
Is THIS the role that Akshay Kumar will portray in Good Newwz?
Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor starrer Good Newwz has been the talk of the town for multiple reasons, be it the change in their release date or the change in title. The movie will also feature Kiara Advani and Diljit Dosanjh as the second couple. While the film revolves around these two couples coming from different cultural backgrounds undergoing the IVF treatment to conceive, there weren’t a lot of character details that had come out regarding this project.
With the release date coming soon, there are tentative details about Akshay Kumar’s character that have been revealed. According to a leading tabloid’s reports, Akshay Kumar will be seen portraying the role of a car dealer from south Delhi who is rich and stylish. With a lot of humor and drama in Kareena and Akshay’s track, this is something he has not done in the recent past with his back-to-back patriotic and period dramas.

Alaia Furniturewala signs three film deal with Jawaani Jaaneman producer Jay Shewakramani
Gearing up for her first film, Alaia Furniturewala is making waves since her project with his Saif Ali Khan. The young actress, daughter of Pooja Bedi, is set to debut in Jawaani Jaaneman this year. Even before her debut, she has signed a three-film deal with producer Jay Shewakramani of Northern Lights Films.
Speaking of the deal, producer Jay Shewakramani said, “I just followed my instinct. After working with Alaia in Jawaani Jaanemann and seeing her evolve as an actor, I knew she has what it takes in this field. I had this in mind since the very beginning. But working with her extensively on Jawaani Jaanemann was a reassurance that ‘yes, I want to do this’.”
Alaia Furniturewala will be soon making her debut with filmmaker Nitin Kakkar’s Jawaani Jaaneman, a film headlined by Saif Ali Khan. The actress will be portraying the role of Saif‘s daughter in the film. It is a coming of age story and also stars Tabu in a pivotal role. The film is set to release in November this year.
Housefull 4: Farhad Samji opens up on working with Akshay Kumar and replacing Sajid Khan
Housefull 4 is a multi-period drama where we will see the cast in their present lives which will be the reincarnation of their lives from over 600 years ago. This time, Farhad Samji is taking over the directorial charge after the Housefull 3. But, he was only the writer in the fourth installment until Sajid Khan was accused of sexual harassment during the #MeToo movement.
Sajid Khan was soon asked to step down from the project and Farhad Samji was brought on board as the director as almost 50 % of the shoot was remaining especially the period era part. He said that he was attached to the project since it’s inception and it is his habit to regularly visit the set as a writer. During the first schedule, he even narrated the scenes to the actors. Since he was there from the beginning, it never felt like a bumpy ride to him when it came to directing. Technically, it was difficult since the important part – the period era – was yet to be shot. He knew the punches and humour were there but to get the look right was important. Sajid Nadiadwala was there throughout for him and they have a camaraderie of mentor and mentee.
Farhad Samji said that he was getting ready for an important schedule of Ranveer Singh – Rohit Shetty’s Simmba when he received the call that the decision has been made to remove Sajid Khan and the makers have asked him to come and direct the film. He spoke to Rohit Shetty about it and then went ahead with it. Farhad said that he had very little time to prepare. They started with the shoot in Mumbai with the period era and also shot some present-day portions including a song. He said that he has filmed over 50 percent of the film.
Even Nana Patekar was replaced with Rana Daggubati since the veteran actor was once again in headlines over Tanushree Dutta harassment. But did Farhad Samji had to change the character? He said that they don’t change characters for the actors. He is a threat in the film and had given Baahubali touch to the character. They also have Nawazuddin Siddiqui which has taken the film to another level.
This is the third time Farhad Samji has directed Akshay Kumar. He said that the actor has given him and his brother Sajid Samji the chance to become directors. So it was imperative to live up to the expectations. He further said that Akshay Kumar is one of the most hardworking actors who wakes up at 5 am for this role and even before coming on the set, he knows the tone of the scene. He said that the actor may be doing a thousand things a day but is keen on listening to the script again and again and digesting the scenes and characters.
Farhad Samji has also written Sooryavanshi which is being helmed by Rohit Shetty and stars Akshay Kumar. It is mounted on a big scale, said the director. He has worked with both of them separately but coming together feels like a dhamaka. Farhad is also directing Akshay in Bachchan Pandey. It is an out and out comedy entertainer. They have a tentative cast and working on the script. The film will go on floor next year.
Housefull 4 stars Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Bobby Deol, Kriti Sanon, Pooja Hegde and Kriti Kharbanda in double roles. It is presented and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala’s Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and co-produced by Fox Star Studios, directed by Farhad Samji slated to release on Diwali 2019.
Men who were threatening Salman Khan on social media arrested for drug smuggling and theft
Two people who had threatened Bollywood star Salman Khan in a social media post on September 26 were arrested on Thursday. As per reports, the two men have been identified as Jacky Bishnoi, alias Lawrence Babal, and Jagdish.
The men had threatened Salman Khan to garner some publicity. Reportedly, the two are vehicle thieves and drug smugglers. The threat against Salman was posted by Jacky on Facebook, on September 26. He added ‘Lawrence’ as a prefix to his name so that people would think he was associated with the Lawrence gang of Jodhpur.
The cars which the duo had stolen to carry out their drug smuggling operation have been seized. According to officials, cases of drug smuggling and vehicle theft have been registered against the men. The police stopped Jacky and Jagdish for questioning when they got suspicious on seeing the men drive around in a luxury car. Further investigation revealed the duo was indulged in vehicle theft and drug smuggling.
It was later discovered that Jacky was the same man who had threatened Salman on social media.
Chiranjeevi reveals how he sought Jaya Bachchan’s help to get Amitabh Bachchan on board for Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy
Superstars Chiranjeevi and Amitabh Bachchan were seen together in the recently released film Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. In a recent interview with a media house, Chiranjeevi revealed how he sought Jaya Bachchan’s help to reach out to Amitabh Bachchan for a role in the film.
The director of the film had asked Chiranjeevi to directly call up Mr. Bachchan and ask him whether he was keen on doing the role of the Guru. Chiranjeevi, who was nervous to call the actor directly, reached out to Jaya Bachchan to seek permission. Chiranjeevi said that he told his director that he was not sure whether Bachchan will take up a 5-day character.
Chiranjeevi, a member of Rajya Sabha Parliament met Jaya Bachchan who is also a member of the house. When Chiranjeevi told Jaya Bachchan that he wants to speak to Amitabh, she asked him to directly contact him. Chiranjeevi was hesitant and Jaya asked him to drop a message to Amitabh Bachchan and said that he will revert back. He further said that Amitabh Bachchan got in touch with him and agreed to do the role without any questions or even asking what kind of character it was.
Meanwhile, in the film Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, Chiranjeevi plays the titular role, while Amitabh portrays the role of his mentor Guru Gosayi Venkanna.

HRX by Hrithik Roshan partners with India’s Biggest Walkathon Oxfam Trailwalker
India’s first homegrown fitness brand HRX by Hrithik Roshan has partnered with annual walkathon Oxfam Trailwalker India to support education and health for all, women’s rights and fight discrimination in the six poorest states of India.
“HRX and I believe in an equal India for all, and we’re joining hands with Oxfam Trailwalker- India’s biggest 100 km walk for equality. It’s a cause that brings fitness and one’s passion for doing good together,” said Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan, founder, and co-owner of the brand HRX.
Oxfam Trailwalker India has been held in Mumbai and Bengaluru, and has completed 14 successful editions in the country. Last year, around 1600 people from all across India participated and walked 100km or 50km for an equal world. Over Rs. 5 crores were raised by walkers to contribute towards Oxfam India’s ongoing projects on education, health, gender forest rights, and to fight discrimination in Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Uttar Pradesh.
“We are thrilled to partner with HRX this year. This partnership is an opportunity for us to reach out to millions of HRX fans and their networks. Their support will help us strengthen our fight to ensure that poor children, particularly girls, go to schools, propel us to advocate harder for good quality and free government health services, and to put more feet on the ground for providing support to families suffering due to floods and disasters,” said Oxfam India CEO Amitabh Behar.
Last year, actress and fitness enthusiast Mandira Bedi flagged off Mumbai Trailwalker while yoga guru Natasha Noel, actor and writer Harman Singha walked to inspire participants. In previous years, actor Milind Soman, actor and Oxfam Global Ambassador Rahul Bose have also flagged off Oxfam Trailwaker and walked for the cause.
This year, 100km and 50km trails for Mumbai edition (13th -15th December 2019) will pass through the majestic Western Ghats (which are enlisted as a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and Bhor Ghat in the quaint town of Karjat in Maharashtra. The Bengaluru trail (7th – 9th February 2020) will start from the edge of a beautiful valley in the Nandi Hills and pass through more than 30 villages and culminate at Olde Bangalore Resort.
“We believe that Trailwalker is an opportunity for those who care about the world, to make meaningful change,” said Oxfam India CEO Amitabh Behar, who himself walked the 100km during the 2018 Mumbai edition to set a perfect example of ‘walking the talk’.

Krrish 4: Rakesh Roshan begins work on the fourth installment starring Hrithik Roshan
The superhero franchise Krrish 4 has been one of the most successful ones in the industry. The film, bankrolled by Rakesh Roshan, starred Hrithik Roshan in the leading role. Last year, the filmmaker had announced that Krrish 4 is in works. But, due to his health, he couldn’t kick-start the project. Rakesh Roshan was diagnosed with early-stage squamous cell carcinoma of the throat. After the surgery and recovery, he is back to the grind.
Hrithik Roshan, during War promotions, said that his father is getting better. As per new reports, Rakesh Roshan is keen on making the fourth part which will be bigger than the last three films – Koi Mil Gaya, Krrish, Krrish 3. The number of characters will increase and so will the enemies who will fight Krrish to make a grand film. Since films like The Avengers and 2.0 have had fine VFX, one will have to keep that in mind as well since audiences have watched those films. As it is a Bollywood film, it will have to be bigger and better for Hrithik Roshan.
It is also rumoured that Sanjay Gupta, who helmed by Kaabil, might direct this film. The rest of the cast is yet to be announced but the project will go on floor by 2020.
Amitabh Bachchan reveals he does not belong to any RELIGION, here’s why

Rashmi Rocket: Taapsee Pannu is all set to undergo massive transformation
Taapsee Pannu is all set to play a young girl from a village in RSVP’s next, Rashmi Rocket. However, this is a fictional story of a woman hailing from Kutch, who aspires to become a sprinter and we are already excited to get to know about what’s in store! The actress is leaving no stone unturned to work hard on her physical appearance to look every bit of an athlete and nail the form required for her character Rashmi.
Speaking about the transformation process, Taapsee Pannu shares, “I will begin the process of transforming my body from this month. The aim will be to build a body like a sportsperson. Thus, I will have an entourage consisting of a trainer, a nutritionist and a physiotherapist who will help me become an athlete that I need to be for the screen.”
Excited to be a part of a sports-genre movie, the actress draws inspiration from Farhan Akhtar and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. “They have set a benchmark with their performances as sports personalities in movies like Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and Mary Kom respectively. I look up to them and want to give my best to this project,” she delightfully shares.
The film is not a biopic, but a lot of inspiration has been drawn from real-life sports stars. Taapsee further adds, “It is a story of an athlete, for which we have picked up interesting nuances and incidents from the lives of sprinters all over the world, and we will present it through my character. It is not a biopic, but makes for a very interesting story.”
Set in the salt marshes of Kutch, Rashmi Rocket is about a young girl from a village, blessed with a gift. She’s an incredibly fast runner. The village fondly knows her as ‘Rocket’. When she gets a chance to showcase her talent professionally, she jumps at the opportunity, only to realize that the race to the finish line is peppered with many hurdles, and what seems like an athletic contest turns into her personal battle for respect, honour, and even her very identity. The film will be produced by Ronnie Screwvala, Neha Anand and Pranjal Khandhdiya.
