Sanju Grosses $5 Billion Worldwide, $3 Billion in India
The big budget movie was the highest weekend opener of the year. The Rajkumar Hirani directorial debut has broken many records. Sanju is slated to cross the earnings of Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Tiger Zinda Hai and PK. The film also includes Anushka Sharma and Jim Sarbh. The film has been at the receiving end of critics for its positive portrayal of Dutt and his image. Despite this, Sanju is still pulling crowds to the theatre, many of whom are hoping to see the controversial life of the Bad Boy of Bollywood unfold before them. Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor has been receiving praise for his portrayal of Sanjay Dutt. Sanju is one of the biggest hits of his career. Though Disney and Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp released, but it could not do anything dent the earnings of the film. |
Irrfan Khan Smiles in New Twitter Picture
The actor was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumor and is currently in London for treatment. Hats off to Irrfan for fighting the rare disease with a smile! The actor is now promoting his forthcoming film Karwaan by posting the film’s songs on Twitter. The film also stars Malayalam actor Dulquer Salmaan (his Bollywood debut) and Mithila Palkar, and is slated for release on August 3. The 51-year-old actor broke the news of his cancer diagnosis. He also penned a heartfelt note about how the rare disease has changed his perception and made his realize that human life is unpredictable. He added that neuroendocrine tumor was a new addition to his vocabulary, having not heard of the disease previously. Irrfan said there are few case studies and very little less information pertaining to the disease, hence the nature of the treatment and its effect is unpredictable. “I was part of a trial-and-error game,” he said. In June, Irrfan won the IIFA Award for Best Actor for his role in Hindi Medium. His trophy was given to the team on his behalf. “Thank you to IIFA and our audience who have been part for my journey,” he thanked IIFA on twitter. |
Mira Rajput Glows at Baby Shower
Mira kept it simple for the ceremony. Her pregnancy style consisted of a white and black polka dot off-shoulder tiered dress. She left her long tresses loose over her shoulders and glowed in the outfit that she paired with sparkling studs. She finished her look with black strappy sandals. Shahid complemented Mira perfectly in a printed black shirt and denim, and white sneakers. The function was attended by a few close friends and family members that reportedly included Shahid’s father Pankaj Kapur, Supriya Pathak and Ishaan Khatter. The actor’s brother was accompanied by his co-star Janhvi Kapoor from Dhadak. Shahid shared a picture of both of them on Instagram, while many fans clubs reposted and shared the images. The couple are seeing cutting a cake and interacting with guests. Filmmaker Abhishek Kapoor’s wife Pragya also attended the ceremony and a picture of Mira and her friends made it on social media. The actress is also pregnant with their second child. |

After Irrfan Khan’s cancer news, this news came as a huge shock for Bollywood fans. The actress wrote previously that she is optimistic and is fighting the disease. “I am taking the battle head-on, knowing I have the strength of my family and friends behind me,” she wrote. Bendre shared a video of her having her hair cut ahead of chemotherapy at a New York salon. She can be seen getting emotional at the sight of her long locks gone. Sonali is flaunting her new hairstyle on Instagram, and she is smiling, laughing through the journey of her treatment. Kudos to her positive attitude! The 43-year-old actress has been showered with love and compliments on her new edgy look. She thanked her fans for their support. Katrina Kaif Celebrates 35th Birthday with Family
She flew to London on July 13. Before taking off for London, she spoke to Mumbai Mirror. “Yes, I’m with family for my birthday and will return to Mumbai on Tuesday,” she said. She and her family including Mom and sisters visited their favorite spots in the city such as a vintage castle. The actress was previously touring the US and Canada with the Da-Bangg gang. She had fun with Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonakshi Sinha, Daisy Shah, Prabhudheva, Guru Randhawan and Maniesh Paul. Katrina has a lot in store in the coming months. She will be next seen in Vijay Krishna Acharya’s Thugs of Hindostan, which also stars Amir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan. The movie releases this Diwali.
