WAR: Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff starrer won’t get a trailer launch, here’s why!
Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff, two of the biggest action heroes of our generation, are pitted against each other for a massive showdown in YRF’s visual extravaganza War. The action entertainer will see the two superstars going after each other as they pull off jaw-dropping, death-defying stunts in a bid to win over each other. From the teaser itself, we can say that War will be a spectacle for action film lovers and YRF wanted to do a grand, action-packed trailer launch that would wow media and audiences. However, they hit a massive roadblock!
A source close to the production house reveals, “The team was working incessantly to produce a hugely mounted, action-packed trailer launch that has never been seen before. But after working for about 4 months on several different plans, they realized that no matter how big the event shaped up, it would still look way smaller in comparison to the visual spectacle that the trailer promises to audiences.”
The informer adds, “War is the biggest action film that Bollywood has ever produced and YRF took a strategic call that there was no point doing this event. No event idea could live up to the grandness of scale and there was no point doing an event where two of the biggest action superstars were simply doing a routine stunt or using choppers, etc as the mode of transportation to create an entry because all this was really very small visually for this film’s positioning. The trailer of the film will show audiences across the world that a Bollywood action film is at par with the biggest Hollywood action films and the makers want audiences to get wowed by the mind-blowing visuals and jaw-dropping action choreography.”
Just for the record, War has been shot in 7 different countries and 15 world cities. Four action directors have been roped in to choreograph the biggest never seen before action spectacles on screen.
When contacted, director Siddharth Anand confirmed saying, “Yes, this information is accurate. The team tried to create a visual spectacle for the trailer launch but no matter how big the plans were, the event was not being able to match the scale of the film. An event for a film like this needs to be at par with what we are promising to audiences and it’s impossible to create this spectacle from an event logistics point of view. So, we have decided to scrap the idea of the launch and want to leave audiences with only the visuals of the trailer. We are very excited about the trailer. It’s a big asset and we are hoping audiences will love what they see!”
Bareilly Ki Barfi stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Kriti Sanon to be the new faces of Magicbricks!

First Look: Sidharth Malhotra to face off dwarf Riteish Deshmukh in intense revenge saga, Marjaavaan, new release date out
Sidharth Malhotra is set to star in Milap Milan Zaveri’s revenge drama, Marjaavaan. The film also stars Riteish Deshmukh, Tara Sutaria & Rakul Preet Singh. As it marks the reunion of Ek Villain duo Riteish and Sidharth, their second outing is more intense.
And we finally have the first look of the film and it looks pretty intriguing. Sidharth Malhotra shared first look of Riteish Deshmukh as a dwarf and wrote, “Har cheez ki height bataane ka bahut shauk hai na tujhe. Aaj tujhe pata chalega BADLE ki height kya hoti hai. #Marjaavaan releasing on 22nd November 2019.”
With the first look, Sidharth also shared the new release date which is November 22, 2019. It has been shifted from October 2. The VFX work is still to be worked on and it will require time.
Earlier, on Riteish’s dwarf-sized villain role, Milap Zaveri told Bollywood Hungama, “Riteish’s villainous role had to be better than the last time. I decided to raise the bar by scaling him down in size. Even though he is a dwarf, his character is larger than life. The part is extremely wicked with dark humour, great punch lines and some crazy face-off scenes with Sid.”

Aamir Khan’s daughter Ira Khan to make her directorial debut with a stage play
Aamir Khan’s kids Junaid Khan and Ira Khan have stayed away from limelight. It’s only in last two years, his daughter Ira Khan has grabbed media attention. While it’s expected for the star kids to follow the footsteps of their star parents, it seems like Ira Khan is opting for behind the scenes approach.
Instead of acting, Ira Khan will be making her directorial debut with a stage play Medea, based on the ancient Greek tragedy on Jason and Medea written by Euripides.
Sources close to her reveal that she has already commenced work on her directorial in full force where the premiere of her play is scheduled to happen in December, this year. The rehearsals for the play will be starting soon and will happen in Mumbai itself.
Talking about her debut, Ira shares, “There’s no particular reason that I decided to start with theatre. I love theatre, its magical and all-consuming; in its classical form, in the world of technology, its very real and physical. I love the suspension of disbelief that the audience allows for because then there’s so much you can express”.
Interestingly, ever her brother Junaid Khan decided to opt for theatre with a play named Mother Courage and Her Children in 2017.
Vivek Oberoi to back a film on Balakot airstrike
After starring as Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his biopic earlier this year, Vivek Oberoi bagged the rights to make a film on Balakot airstrike. The actor is all set to back the project to salute the bravery of the Indian Air Force (IAF). After the Pulwama Attacks, the IAF carried out airstrikes which led to capture of Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman. The film will go on the floor later this year and will be shot in Jammu & Kashmir, Delhi, and Agra.
Taking up the subject of the Balakot Attack, Vivek Oberoi is making a trilingual feature film in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu depicting the true facts, story and bravery of the Indian Air Force and their quick thinking, strategic planning with a strong political willingness. To ensure that the makers will take help of the team who witnessed the true events that happened.
Vivek Oberoi shared, “As a proud Indian, a patriot and a member of the film fraternity, it’s my duty to highlight what our armed forces are truly capable of. This film is a powerful tool to underline the achievements of brave officers like Abhinandan, who went behind enemy lines and did what makes every Indian proud of them. The Balakot airstrike was one of the most well-planned attacks by the IAF. I followed everything in the news, right from the attack in Pulwama to the airstrike. There was a lot that was speculated and spoken about back then; this film will put all of that to rest, once and for all. I thank the IAF for trusting us with this story and we hope to do justice to it.”
It will encapsulate a string of events that took place starting with the attack in Pulwama where 40 jawans were martyred, followed by India’s well documented air-strike behind the enemy lines in Balakot. As a result of this, the Indian Air force foiled off an attack by Pakistan on Indian soil but the bravery of Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman ensured that Pakistan’s plans were foiled. In the process, he ended up being in the enemy territory, but with the ingenious strategy of Indian Government and Indian Air Force, Wing Commander Abhinandan was released quickly and safely.
The film will unfold a gripping story of events including the release of Wing Commander Abhinandan, Squadron leader Minty Agarwal and many unknown heroes of Indian Air Force. Amongst all these speculations and presumptions as to what had actually happened.
Varun Dhawan to sport 4 tattoos for his role in Street Dancer 3D!
Varun Dhawan, who will next be seen in Remo D’souza’s Street Dancer 3D, is thrilled to be working with the director for the second time. Even though the team has wrapped the shoot for the film and are clearly missing each other’s company way too much, they are usually seen sharing fun behind-the-scenes videos and photos. Varun even took to his YouTube channel to share a few glimpses from his journey on sets.
We, at Bollywood Hungama, had reported that Varun Dhawan will be seen sporting a Michael Jackson tattoo on his right forearm in every film he does with Remo. The director-actor duo is a huge Michael Jackson fan and Remo went on to say that this tattoo has become an integral part of Varun Dhawan’s character in the film. Apart from this, Varun will also be seen sporting a player controls tattoo under his right collarbone, a detailed tattoo of Lord Natraj on his right bicep, and a three-tier belt on his left forearm.

“I was not in a good frame of mind,” says Suniel Shetty about his time away from the screen
Suniel Shetty will be returning to the screen after a gap of four years with the Kannada film Pehlwaan alongside South star Kichcha Sudeep. On Thursday at the trailer launch of the film, the actor spoke about the fear that engulfed him during his sabbatical.
Suniel Shetty who makes his debut in Kannada cinema said that he fears that his four years gap has him doubting his acting ability. “For four years I didn’t work. I was in a frame of mind where I didn’t know what to do. I was in a confused state whether I wanted to continue working or I didn’t want to work. But when something good comes to you, you also want to test the waters,” he said.
The actor was not in a good frame of mind. He said, “You get this feeling of doubt, do you even remember to act? I was going through that stage.”
However, it is the subject of the film Pehlwaan that helped him take up the project despite his fears. “It’s Kannada, not that I was very familiar with the language because I speak Thullu, but it’s also my turf, territory. It was a good subject and up my alley. I don’t think I even debated,” he said.
He feels that he is safe with this film as this film has an ‘X’ amount of audience because of Sudeep and Krishna (the film’s director). “I am happy I did it. There’s cross-pollination. Actors are doing films across the board so, I am glad I took the decision,” he added.
Suniel plays Sudeep’s mentor in the film and is more than happy to play his actual age. He said that Sudeep and Krishna have managed his character very well and it has come out very well.
The film will be released on September 12 in Kannada, Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and Malayalam simultaneously.
Sara Ali Khan opens up about family and her bond with Taimur Ali Khan
Sara Ali Khan who is two films old has managed to win many hearts with her acting and her wit displayed during her interviews. Recently, during an interview, Sara Ali Khan opened up about her family life and the star of their family Taimur Ali Khan.
Talking about her parents Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, she said that she feels that she has imbibed their quality of being free-spirited. Another common habit of her parents that she has imbibed is that of doing the right thing without worrying about external judgements.
Speaking about the most popular person in their family, Sara revealed that Taimur is the apple of everyone’s eyes. She said that Taimur has the ability to lighten up everybody’s mood by just being there.
Sara said that she is happy for her father as he is enjoying fatherhood with Taimur. She further said that Saif has been a great father to her and her brother Ibrahim but he is now at an age and stage where he can enjoy fatherhood as it should be. On the work front, Sara completed the shoot for her third film Aaj Kal which is directed by Imtiaz Ali and co-stars Kartik Aaryan. She is currently shooting for Coolie No 1 and has been paired opposite Varun Dhawan for the film.
Harshvardhan Kapoor to work with sisters Sonam Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor
Harshvardhan Kapoor, who made his debut in the commercially unsuccessful Mirzya and followed it up with a critically acclaimed but nonetheless box office failure Bhavesh Joshi, will now be seen in a home production.
Rhea Kapoor, who is Harshvardhan’s sister will produce the large-screen version of Anuja Chauhan’s bestselling novel The Battle for Bittora, the story of advertising copywriter who ends up fighting a national parliamentary election. The film, which has been on the anvil for nearly four years, was to be originally made with Sonam Kapoor and Fawad Khan, the pair fresh off the shelf after the release of Khubsoorat in 2014. However, the project had to be put on hold when Fawad fled the country, while Rhea Kapoor and her sister collaborated on two other projects the successful Veere Di Wedding and the on-release The Zoya Factor (also based on an Anuja Chauhan novel).
We now hear of The Battle For Bittora being revived with Sonam Kapoor in the lead. And yes, brother Harshvardhan will play a pivotal role in the quirky political satire to be directed by Shashanka Ghosh. That’s good news Harshvardhan who has been trying to find his bearings. All hopes were pinned for young Kapoor on the biopic on shooter Abhinav Bindra. But, that has now been delayed. Hence, the family film.
“Such performers will do anything for money in any part of the world” – Ashoke Pandit blasts Mika Singh after his apology to FWICE
Singer Mika Singh, whose career faced an imminent ban after he was caught performing at a wedding in Pakistan, faced the wrath of the Federation Of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) before being made to apologize publicly at a press meet in Mumbai on Thursday afternoon.
Ashoke Pandit, Chief Adviser of the FWICE, reveals, “Quite frankly, we are not convinced by Mika’s public display of repentance (for performing in Pakistan). They could be crocodile tears. Such performers will do anything for money in any part of the world. How do we know he won’t go back to Pakistan once all the uproar had died down?”
Angrily Pandit says, “We summoned Mika Singh. He arrived with dozens of bullies to show his strength. We asked him to drop his act of bravado and face up to a lifelong ban. We also reminded him that we knew where the funds for these stage shows all over the world featuring Indian and Pakistani artistes are suspected to come from.”
Says Pandit, “Could be. But we are not a legally sanctioned organization. We can only send out a strong signal in the film industry about what we feel to be the morally right stance in a situation like Mika’s. In that, we succeeded in a big way.”
After the sound dressing-down Mika Singh apparently dropped his aggressive act and meekly agreed to comply with whatever the Federation decided.
“We made it very clear to him that we were not convinced by his insincere apology. We insisted on a public media-covered apology so that his statement of regret would be on –record. We now dare Mika to cross the border again,” says Pandit angrily.
Esha Gupta meets with accident; posts details of culprit on social media
Actress Esha Gupta met with a car accident in Mumbai on Wednesday. However, the accident was not serious in nature and the actor reportedly did not sustain injuries. But Gupta took to social media and posted a picture of the car which hit her car.
Soon after the accident, the actress posted a picture of a car revealing the details of the number plate and tagged Mumbai Police. She wrote: “Need help, this car banged my car badly today outside Lilavati hospital @MumbaiPolice please help.”
Mumbai Police was quick to reply and wrote back, “We have followed you. Please share your contact details on DM.” Later Esha tweeted thanking the Mumbai police for their action, though she did not mention what action was taken. She wrote: “Thank you so so much @MumbaiPolice you’ve been so prompt n helpful.”
Luckily Esha did not get injured and the actress was back to work as she walked the ramp at the ongoing Lakme Fashion Week. She posted a bunch of pictures as she walked the ramp for fashion designer Pallavi Mohan. Meanwhile, Esha Gupta was last seen in the film Total Dhamaal.
Akshay Kumar is the only Bollywood actor in Forbes top 10 of the highest paid actors
Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has bagged the fourth spot in the Forbes list of the highest-paid actor. He is the only Indian actor to be named in the top 10 of the list. Akshay Kumar made his way up the list with his earnings of $65 million.
This achievement by the actor does not come as a surprise considering the number of films he does and its fate at the box-office. The actor has had two successful box office runs this year with Kesari and Mission Mangal. His film, Mission Mangal managed to enter the 100-crore club in just 5 days of its release. The film is still having a successful run at the box office.
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar still has two more films yet to be released this year which include Housefull 4 and Good News. Housefull 4 is an out-an-out comedy film and Good News stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Kiara Advani and will focus on the subject of surrogacy and infertility.

Prabhas reveals why he took 20 percent pay cut for Saaho
Baahubali Prabhas is moving away from his grand image to yet another interesting big-budget movie, Saaho. The film is touted to one of the biggest films of the year which will release in several languages. This will also be the actor’s first Hindi film as well. Since the film is made on a massive budget, the actor apparently took a pay cut. When asked about it, Prabhas confirmed that he indeed took 20 percent pay cut. He said for films like Baahubali or Saaho, one can’t take any remuneration since the actor is in demand. Instead, that money can be made to make the film bigger in scale. He added that films like these require a lot of research to be made on that scale.
Prabhas said that he is excited about the project since his friends are involved in it. He said that director Sujeeth is excited and with thoughts who spent a lot of time on pre-production, script and planning. He got big names on board for the film. He said that there were internal flights but Sujeeth didn’t fight or showed his anger.
While Prabhas in a way is making his Hindi debut, Shraddha Kapoor is making her Telugu debut. The actor revealed that he was shocked on the first day when Shraddha spoke in Telugu. He said that she must have practised a lot as she was excited to shoot the Telugu portions. He said it was the same as he learnt Tamil for Baahubali since it was his first time.
Prabhas starrer Saaho is set to hit the theatres on August 30, 2019, and his next movie under the direction of ‘Jil’ fame Radha Krishna Kumar. The working title of the movie is Amour along with Pooja Hegde.

When asked whether Hrithik will be a part of the project, he revealed, “No, we are still working on the draft, we will not move and ask anyone till we are not happy and sure of what’s there on the table and what exactly we’re going to do. The casting and other aspects come in later. Sridhar Raghavan is writing the screenplay and once we know where we stand on paper only then we would be moving ahead with the rest of the things.”
