Dream Girl: Ayushmann Khurrana and Nushrat Bharucha to recreate ‘Dhagala Lagli Kala’
Ayushmann Khurrana has piqued the audience’s interest with his upcoming film, Dream Girl. The actor has once again taken up an interesting and quirky role. With two songs that have already been released, the lead actors Ayushmann and Nushrat Bharucha will be recreating the song ‘Dhagala Lagli Kala’ in the film.
The song picturized on Dada Kondke and Usha Chauhan in Marathi film, Bot Lavin Tithe Gudguliyan had a chartbuster. It is being recreated by Meet Bros who will also sing along with Jyotica Tangri. The new recreation has amazing Marathi beats along with the rap part that Meet Bros have sung themselves. It has live guitars and electronic programs along with it.
While giving insights about the music track, Raaj shares, “’Dhagala Lagli Kala’ is a classic, iconic song and we have danced to its tune for years. It is peppy, groovy and compels you to shake a leg. It was Ekta’s (Kapoor, producer) idea to recreate this popular foot-tapping number with the Ganpati festival being around the corner. We loved the idea, and feel that as a promotional track, it will widen the scope of the film beyond communities. Our first song, Radhe Radhe, celebrates the spirit of Janmashtami and this one releasing during Ganeshotsav will pump up the festivities.”
The director further says, “This song has a different vibe and it’s got amazing Marathi parts, which has a rap-like melody that we have sung ourselves. It has got amazing catchy Marathi beats and we have also added some live guitars as well as electronic programs around it. It has ‘let’s dance’ written all over it. And I think this will be the biggest welcome for Ganesh Chaturthi in terms of music.”
No doubt that this music track is going to be loved by all the fans, as the song ‘Dhagala Lagli Kala’ has just not been a song, but also an emotion for the youth as it has been a part of fans lives in their childhood and teen years. Housefull 4: Akshay Kumar and Rana Daggubati to face off in a qawwali song with entire cast
It is known that Sajid Nadiadwala’s production Housefull 4 is touted to be one of the biggest and costliest films of the year. The film is set in two timelines and will be about reincarnation. And now we hear that the actors Akshay Kumar and Rana Daggubati have shot a qawwali song with the cast members.
Akshay Kumar and Rana Daggubati will be facing off in a qawwali song along with the rest of the cast including Riteish Deshmukh, Bobby Deol, Kriti Sanon, Kriti Kharbanda, Pooja Hegde, Johny and Jamie Lever, Ranjeet and Chunkey Pandey. The song is a fun conversation between protagonist and antagonist and was shot in a Mumbai studio. It is set in the present era and has been penned by Farhad Samji. The actors were supported by 200 backup dancers.
The present era was shot in London in which Akshay Kumar plays the role of a barber. The past era is set in Rajasthan with costume heavy flashback portions. The film also has Nawazuddin Siddiqui in a special role in which he plays an exorcist in a song which was shot earlier this year. Over the years, Maddock Films of Dinesh Vijan has emerged as a respectable production house. Barring a few flops like Raabta and Arjun Patiala, it has delivered commercially successfully high-concept films like Hindi Medium, Stree and Badlapur. Earlier this year, they backed Luka Chuppi, a comic caper, and it emerged as a super-hit. As a result, when they announced Made In China last year, it was seen as an exciting venture due to the Maddock Films connect. Moreover, the star cast comprising of Rajkummar Rao, Mouni Roy and Sumeet Vyas also added to the hype. Initially, the film was scheduled to release on August 30, 2019. But after the Prabhas starrer and big-budget actioner Saaho was postponed from August 15 to August 30, the film was postponed indefinitely. With most Fridays occupied, there were murmurs whether the film will be able to make it in 2019.
However, now the release date of this film has finally been locked. This slice-of-life flick will be releasing in the week of the festival of lights, Diwali, that is, on October 25. A source says, “A meeting took place some time back between the team of Maddock Films and its other partners Jio Studios and AAA Films. They realized that Diwali is an ideal time to bring this film. The mood at that time is upbeat and Made In China will just be the right film that viewers would want to see.”
Diwali being a prime festival, a big film has already reserved the slot – Housefull 4. It is a part of a popular comedy franchise and this time, the scale has been upped as it has double role, Baahubali-style period drama and moreover, it’ll be released in 3D. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed by Farhad Samji, the film features Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Bobby Deol, Kriti Sanon, Kriti Kharbanda and Pooja Hegde in leading roles. The source continues, “Housefull 4 is one of the biggest films of recent times in all respects. But Diwali is also a huge festival and two films can easily co-exist. Made In China is a reasonably budgeted fare and it can manage to sustain and excel even in limited screens.”
Made In China marks the directorial debut of Mikhil Musale in Bollywood. Rajkummar Rao plays a struggling Gujarati businessman and the flick is about his bizarre journey to become a successful entrepreneur. Mouni Roy plays his wife and by her own admission essays the part of the ‘Gujarati hottie’ who pushes her husband to go to China to expand his business, leading to hilarious results. Sumeet Vyas plays a character with grey shades. The film also features Boman Irani and Abhishek Banerjee in supporting roles.
Ajay Devgn’s first sports film Maidaan goes on floors
The shooting of the sports-oriented film Maidaan produced by Boney Kapoor is all set to roll. The movie revolves around Syed Abdul Rahim who is considered as the father of Indian football. Ajay Devgn will be portraying his role in this Amit Sharma directorial. It is the first role of Ajay Devgn where he is required to age by 60 years all the while acquiring a special skill.
While there were no other details out regarding the film, the official handle of the film announced that the film has gone on floors. At the muhurat pooja were seen Boney Kapoor’s children Khushi Kapoor, Anshula Kapoor and actor Arjun Kapoor. Yash Raj Films demands Thugs of Hindostan terms for Hrithik Roshan – Tiger Shroff starrer War; exhibitors fume
In November 2018 we saw the release of the big ticket Amitabh Bachchan – Aamir Khan starrer Thugs of Hindostan. While the film itself did not do well at the box office in the long run, it did start off on a high note. The reason for this massive start was attributed to the fact that the makers of Thugs of Hindostan, Yash Raj Films had secured a path breaking deal with cinema owners to exhibit the film. Now, we hear that with the upcoming Hrithik Roshan – Tiger Shroff starrer War, Yash Raj Films have demanded a similar deal from theatre owners.
Commenting on the same a source close to the matter says, “Back when Thugs of Hindostan released, Yash Raj Films had sold the film to theatre owner/exhibitors at a rather hefty minimum guarantee. However with the film under-performing at the box office, most exhibitors ended up facing nearly 50% loss. Now with War, YRF has demanded a similar if not better deal from exhibitors, which has obviously left many seething.” Prod the source for more details about the simmering conflict between exhibitors and YRF and the source continues, “After Thugs tanked at the box office, exhibitors had approached YRF to seek partial redressal of their loss, but YRF dismissed the same with impunity. This has left not just a bad taste but also a nasty memory among distributors.”
Further talking about the issue exhibitors’ face a source close to them says, “The last time a film was projected to be the new benchmark setter it tanked, and it was exhibitors who lost a lot. Now the same production house is returning with yet another ‘benchmark setter’ and demanding similar terms seems unjust, since if this film too under-performs it will be the exhibitors who suffer again. Now, obviously not wanting to burn their fingers again, and at the same time not lose out on a potential money spinner, exhibitors have found themselves stuck between a rock and a hard place.”
While it still remains unclear whether exhibitors will bend to YRF’s demands the release date for War is fast approaching. And point out this detail our source adds, “War is slated to release on October 2, a holiday weekend that will ensure a good start. No one wants to lose out on the business but it looks like YRF and cinema owners have reached an impasse, which can be solved only with time. But whatever be the solution, the same has to be arrived at immediately.”
Karisma Kapoor walks down the 90s lane, reminisces about Jhanjhariya
Karisma Kapoor had once again graced the sets of the ongoing reality television show Dance India Dance: Battle of the Champions to replace sister Kareena Kapoor. The latter is busy shooting for her film Angrezi Medium opposite Irrfan Khan in London.
Karisma Kapoor was mighty impressed by Soul Queen-the all-girl group. They performed to her nineties chartbuster, ‘Jhanjariya’, from the Suniel Shetty co-starrer Krishna. The performance jogged her memories of the song. Talking about shooting the song, the actress recollected, “For the male version, we shot in the desert in 50-degree heat with sand flying into our eyes. The female version was shot in Mumbai in three days and I changed 30 outfits. Every look was different and the steps were tough. In that sense the song was iconic.”
It was Andaz Apna Apna special episode and Shakti Kapoor was a special guest on the show. Shakti Kapoor played the iconic villain Crime Master Gogo in the film, while Karisma Kapoor played one of the main female lead along with Raveena Tandon. “I am a tuberculosis survivor, Hepatitis B survivor and surviving on 25 per cent liver,” says Amitabh Bachchan
At a recent event promoting regular check-ups for early diagnosis, actor Amitabh Bachchan was seen in conversation with a doctor. He revealed that from eight years he was not aware that he was suffering from tuberculosis.
“I keep quoting my personal example all the time and try and propagate the idea of getting you detected and I don’t mind saying this publicly I am a tuberculosis survivor, Hepatitis B survivor… Bad blood infusion went in and 75 percent of my liver is gone but because I was able to detect it even after a period of 20 years when 75 percent of my liver is gone. I am still surviving on 25 percent,” said Big B.
The 76-year-old star, who has been associated with various health campaigns like Polio, Hepatitis B, Tuberculosis and diabetes, urged people to get tested and diagnosed.
Bachchan said that only with diagnosis was it possible to find a cure. “Then there is a cure. Even with Tuberculosis. I did not know for almost 8 years I was suffering from Tuberculosis. I keep saying that with immodesty if it can happen to me to anyone. Therefore if you are not willing to get yourself tested then you would never find out and there’s never going to be a cure for it,” he said.

The user was actually reacting to another user who was asking another Twitterati to refrain from writing ill about women. The said Twitterati had posted lines which he claims had been said by Kapil Sharma.
Meanwhile, Kapil Sharma clarified by replying to the women’s tweet and said that he never said anything to demean women. He wrote, “Dear sister, I wish you checked the facts before reacting. Those words were not mine. God bless you.”

Bollywood celebrities mourn the loss of legendary music director Khayyam
One of the legendary music directors of all time, Mohammed Zahur Khayyam Hashmi, popularly known as Khayyam, passed away yesterday at a Mumbai hospital at the age of 92. The legendary music composer died after suffering from a lung ailment at Sujay Hospital at 9:30 pm. A few days ago, he was admitted to the hospital owing to breathing issues and other age-related problems.
Khayyam began his career in music at the early age of 17. He was also felicitated with Sangeet Natak Akademi Award and Padma Bhushan. He was also awarded National Award and several Filmfare Awards. Khayyam’s notable work included music direction in Kabhi Kabhie, Umrao Jaan, Trishul, Noorie and Shola Aur Shabnam.
Bollywood celebrities, as well as politicians such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, mourned the demise of the legendary music director who left behind a grand legacy.
Bigg Boss 13: Salman Khan shoots four promos for the reality show
Salman Khan, who is busy with the shooting of Dabangg 3, is all set and raring to go with a brand new season of Bigg Boss. The thirteenth season will be interesting since the venue has been shifted from Lonavala to Mumbai. The makers of Saaho just released the new song from the album titled Bad Boyfeaturing Jacqueline Fernandez along with Prabhas. Undoubtedly, this is one of the hottest dance numbers of the year so far and is surely going to rule the playlist because of its peppy music.
