Mission Mangal vs Batla House: John Abraham speaks about clashing with Akshay Kumar for two years in a row
It is going to be battle of big films this Independence Day 2019 with Akshay Kumar starrer Mission Mangal clashing with John Abraham’s Batla House. While they are both different genre of films, one thing is common that they are both telling stories based on real events. But, this won’t be the first time that Akshay and John will be clashing at the box office. Last year, they had a face off with Gold and Satyameva Jayate.

John Abraham is set to play Police officer Sanjeev Kumar Yadav who spearheaded the Batla House encounter. Speaking about clashing with his friend two years in a row, he said that if anyone had noticed the trajectory of any big actor, they have always released movies on a holiday. Then, why shouldn’t he do the same since festivals and holidays get bigger footfalls, as families step out together. He is okay if a bigger film is opposite him. John hopes one day he will have a bigger film. He wants to release Batla House since he is confident about his content and he hopes that any other content releasing along with his film is equally fantastic too.
While he agrees that business does get affected, he thinks it is other person’s concern and not his. Satyameva Jayate opened on Independence Day and it did well on opening day. So why not do it again? John said that he calculates about probability and failure. He knows what film of his will come in Rs. 40 – 60 crore bracket, Rs 80 – 100 crore and Rs 100 crore plus. He said he is prepared if his film earns less since he wants to do the films he likes and wants to tell the stories that he wants to.
Akshay Kumar’s Mission Mangal will focus on the stories of women responsible for the success of Mangalyaan mission. It is being helmed by Jagan Shakti. Batla House is a story about the encounter that happened in Delhi between the police officials and the terrorist group, Indian Mujahideen.

Hrithik Roshan and Sussane Khan parted ways way back in 2014 and the couple has two kids, Hridhaan and Hrehaan. Even after parting ways, the duo has decided to stand united when it comes to their boys and make sure to give them the assurance that their parents will always be there for them. As surprising as it is, a lot of people find it rare that the two are still going on vacations as a family.

In his recent interview, Hrithik opened up about how he feels about people’s reaction to their relationship. He said that it is said how people think his equation with his ex-wife is rare when it should be a common practice. As a man who is raising two boys, he needs to show them that their mother is loved and respected no matter what. His kids need to learn that even when their parents are separated, they still stand united as a family.
Hrithik will next be seen in Siddharth Anand’s War with Tiger Shroff and Vaani Kapoor. The movie’s trailer looks action-packed and is slated to release on October 2 under Yash Raj Films’ banner.

RX 100 Remake: Suniel Shetty’s son Ahan Shetty’s debut film with Tara Sutaria to go on floor today
It is known that the next generation of Shettys are making their way into Bollywood. While Athiya Shetty is already two films old in the industry, we are talking about Ahan Shetty, son of Suniel Shetty, who will debut with the Hindi remake of a South film, RX 100, tentatively titled Tadap. The leading lady opposite him will be Student Of The Year 2 debutante, Tara Sutaria.

The film goes on floor today at a theatre in South Mumbai. As the majority of the film will be shot in Mussorie since Ahan Shetty’s character runs a movie theatre there, the shoot will begin from that scene which involves a lot of drama. Director Milan Luthria had done a lot of recee before they locked in Central Plaza theatre since it isn’t too vintage or swanky. While Tara Sutaria will join the cast on the later date, she will be present for the lunch with the team on August 6.
As this is an adaptation of the South film, the director has adapted it to suit the sensibilities of Hindi audience. Since Sajid Nadiadwala and him, both come from commercial space, they did not feel like going the candy floss way as it did not suit Ahan Shetty. It is a dramatic and unexpected love story.
When asked whether he is under pressure since he is launching Suniel Shetty’s son, Milan Luthria said that Suniel has been a popular actor and has been around for a while now. It is like a bonus for them. He said that his job is to make Ahan do well.
Sajid Nadiadwala added that Ahan Shetty has prepped well and done his work. RX 100is completely different from what they have made in recent times.
Coming to the original, the film starred Karthikeya Gummakonda and Payal Rajput. The film is an action romantic drama with a bold storyline. As romance starts brewing between the couple, they get separated due to a twist resulting in Payal aka Indu getting married to someone else. In his wait for the return of the ladylove, Karthikeya aka Shiva continues to be a gunda leading a life in his aggressive ways. But when she returns, he is in to face a shocking truth!
Kirti Kulhari and Aditi Rao Hydari to star in Parineeti Chopra starrer The Girl On The Train
It is known that Parineeti Chopra has been roped in for Emily Blunt’s role in the official Hindi remake of Paula Hawkins’ best-seller, The Girl On The Train! The film went on the floor in London this past weekend. Now, joining the cast is Kirti Kulhari who is set to star as Aaliya Shergill, a British cop. Another addition to the cast is Aditi Rao Hydari.

Kriti Kulhari has begun training in kickboxing. The actress said that it is an interesting character with a unique look. The training will give her body language of a cop. They initially thought of giving her an accent, but director Ribhu Dasgupta thought it would take away from her performance. She is prepping by watching documentaries and murder mysteries to understand the investigative style in UK. She will leave for London on August 15, the day her film Mission Mangal releases. While Aditi Rao Hydari’s role has been kept under wraps, Kriti Kulhari’s role seems very interesting.
For the Hollywood film, Emily Blunt received a nomination for her performance at the 23rd Screen Actors Guild Awards, as well as a nomination for BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role, in the film. The author-backed role in the official Hindi remake will star Parineeti Chopra, who steps into the shoes of an alcoholic divorcée, who becomes involved in a missing person’s investigation.
Anil D. Ambani led Reliance Entertainment is all set to produce the official Hindi remake of Paula Hawkins’ 2015 runaway bestseller, The Girl On The Train. The book was also adapted into a Hollywood film by Steven Spielberg’s DreamWorks Pictures and received a warm reception at the US box office. The still to be titled taut thriller will be directed by Ribhu Dasgupta, who will adapt the book keeping in mind the sensibilities and grit of the characters from the source.
Sooraj Pancholi’s career stalled again, Salman Khan pulls the plug
Things aren’t going well for the Pancholi parivaar. While papa Aditya Pancholi is grappling with serious legal issues involving rape and extortion, son Sooraj Pancholi’s career refuses to take off, even with the support of Salman Khan who produced Sooraj’s debut film Hero. But neither the film nor Sooraj got noticed.

Salman Khan arranged for a second launch for Sooraj Pancholi in a film produced by T Series directed by Salman’s friend Remo D’Souza’s assistant Stanley D’Costa’s Time To Dance. The film was to be Sooraj’s re-launch and Katrina Kaif’s sister Isabelle’s Bollywood launch.
It’s looking like nothing could go wrong with Sooraj’s launch this time. But, it did. Apparently, Time To Dance has been shelved. For some time now, T-Series had put the project on hold. But, with Salman pulling the rug from under the project, Time To Dance now stands annulled.
Katrina’s sister Isabelle Kaif will now be launched opposite Salman’s brother-in-law Aayush Sharma in a war film Kwatha directed by Karan Lalit Bhutani (who previously directed Jimmy Sheirgill and Sriya Sharan in Phamous). Bhutani’s film is being announced as Isabelle’s debut, which means Time To Dance is a forgotten saga and it’s time for Sooraj Pancholi to explore other avenues, since Salman has shifted his focus to his family (brother-in-law and lifelong friend’s sister).
Aayush Sharma, incidentally, has the same track record as Sooraj Pancholi. Aayush’s debut film LoveYatri (produced by Salman Khan) sank without a trace.
EXCLUSIVE: Last week’s Mumbai’s heavy rains cancelled Akshay Kumar’s Laxmmi Bomb shoot for a couple of days!
After their first schedule in Mumbai in April for Laxmmi Bomb, where a song was picturised on Kiara Advani and Akshay Kumar, director Raghava Lawrence, was to start shooting again from August 3 for a four-day schedule, at Madh Island in Mumbai. While Akshay was part of this schedule, Kiara wasn’t as she wasn’t required for these days. We have come to know that out of the four days, Akshay was to shoot for a couple of days but he couldn’t because of the heavy rains that swept Mumbai last week.

Says a source from the sets, “Akshay Kumar’s Laxmmi Bomb two-day schedule on Madh Island, last week, had to be cancelled due to bad weather. Also, most of the unit and Akshay himself prefer to travel by the local ferries from Versova, to the shooting ground as by car it takes almost two hours to go and two to return, but last week the seas were too choppy and rough to travel on. His dates are tight as he does many films a year and they got wasted. For Akshay, time is precious but he had no choice but to wait it out those two days at home. He will shoot this week on those dates as from Sunday he started promoting his next release Mission Mangal.”
The source says that Akshay’s two days of shoot on Madh Island was a crucial one. “It was on a ground where the hero and his friends, select an abandoned field, which is rumoured to be haunted, to play cricket. They carry their bat home, little realizing that the transgender who owned the land was killed and buried in that land. The transgender’s spirit also accompanies them home and that’s where the story begins. But Akshay and his co-stars could not play on the grounds as it was muddy and dirty and there were continuous rains. Apart from the travel, the continuous downpour in Mumbai since the last week had led to water logging and flooding at various places in the city and its suburban areas. Akshay will mostly shoot those scenes this week, once he gets a break from the promotion of Mission Mangal. Raghava Lawrence and co-producer Shabina Khan resumed shooting on Madh Island from Monday.”
This is the second schedule after the controversial first one when actor, director, composer, choreographer and playback singer Raghava Lawrence walked out of the Muni 2: Kanchana remake, produced by Akshay Kumar, Shabina Khan and Tusshar Kapoor, after shooting a song and a few scenes for it. Finally, Akshay and Raghava met and sorted out all the issues. Muni 2: Kanchana revolves around Raghava, who gets possessed by a transgender woman who was murdered by a MLA and wants to take revenge on his.
Akshay Kumar and Neeraj Pandey’s next to be based on National Security Advisor to PM Modi, Ajit Doval
It seems like Baby and Rustom duo Neeraj Pandey and Akshay Kumar will be back to tell yet another interesting tale. After collaborating several times in the past including Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Akshay reportedly will be joining hands with Neeraj Pandey to tell the story of National Security Advisor to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Ajit Doval.

If the reports are anything to go by, Neeraj Pandey’s next will revolve around the fifth and current National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval and his career achievements. The filmmaker, who will next work with Ajay Devgn on Chanakya, will begin work on the project once he is done by with his prior commitments. The team wants to lock in on the story before they go ahead with the official announcement.
Ajit Kumar Doval, KC, PM, PPM, IPS (Retd.) (born 20 January 1945) previously served as the Director of the Intelligence Bureau in 2004–05. This was after he spent a decade as the head of its operation wing. Under his supervision 2016 Indian Line of Control strike on 29th Sept, 2016 and 2019 Balakot airstrike on 26th Feb, 2019 were conducted. Doval was the youngest police officer to receive the Police Medal for meritorious service. He received the award after six years in police. He was also awarded the President’s Police Medal. Doval was granted the Kirti Chakra in 1988 and became the first police officer to receive a medal previously given only as a military honour.
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar has many projects in the pipeline including Mission Mangal, Housefull 4, Good News, Sooryavanshi, Laxmmi Bomb and Bachchan Pandey.
