For Nadira Persaud and Keith McAdam, love arrived when they least expected it. Both 32, the couple met in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic through Tinder, a dating app neither initially believed would lead to something lasting. Nadira had joined after encouragement from her sister and was on the app for less than 24 hours. Keith, meanwhile, had logged in one final time with the intention of deleting his account. One last look changed everything.
Their connection was immediate, helped along by Keith’s beloved dog, Mak, who quickly became Nadira’s favorite furry wingman. They officially began dating on July 14, 2020, beginning a journey that would eventually lead them to the altar.

“Some people say timing is everything, and for us, timing truly changed our lives,” the couple shared.
Keith’s determination became another defining part of their love story. He attempted to propose 37 times across Fort Lauderdale, Miami, West Palm Beach, and Orlando, but circumstances repeatedly got in the way. On June 19, 2023, during their first cruise to Alaska, the 38th attempt finally succeeded, or almost did. As Nadira admired the breathtaking scenery and eagles from their balcony, Keith knelt behind her. When she finally turned around, she skipped the formalities and ran straight into his arms, tackling him before he could even ask the question.
Their wedding took place on November 15, 2025, at Arya Samaj of Fort Lauderdale, followed by a reception at Level Three in Aventura, Florida, with approximately 200 guests. With the help of their event planner, Nadira and Keith were able to focus on enjoying their celebration rather than worrying about logistics. Their venue was selected based on practical needs, including the flexibility to bring in outside vendors, ample parking, strong staff support, and security.
The celebrations began with an intimate Mehendi at their home. Nadira personally envisioned the décor, transforming the space with embroidered floral runners, hand-painted temple banners, cascading white and red roses, and delicate butterflies symbolizing growth and new beginnings. The following day’s Haldi combined cherished traditions with playful fun, featuring sunflowers, colorful confetti, Holi powder, bubble machines, kiddie pools, water balloons, and a giant inflatable slide. Guyanese favorites such as Cream Soda and Carnation Milk added another meaningful touch.
The reception brought their cinematic vision to life with a sophisticated black, white, and gold palette. Orchids, roses, candles, chandeliers, natural light, and uplighting created a romantic atmosphere. Every element, from the bouquets and altar to the layout and dance floor, was uniquely designed by the couple.
Their music reflected their multicultural love story. The Baarat featured Keith arriving in a bright orange Corvette to energetic Bollywood and Chutney music. Throughout the celebration, Bollywood blended with Reggae, Dancehall, Soca, and Chutney, keeping the dance floor alive. Their first dance was to “Ve Kamelya” by Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal, while Nadira shared special dances with her mother to “Tu Kitni Achhi Hai” by Lata Mangeshkar and with her mother-in-law to “Oh Mummy Mummy” by Udit Narayan.
“Make the wedding yours in every sense of the word,” Nadira and Keith advised couples planning their own celebrations. “Perfection is not the goal, connection is.”
Their most unforgettable “wow” moment came when they finally saw the completed reception hall. After months of planning and designing, their vision had become reality.
Looking back, even the unexpected moments have become cherished memories. From 37 failed proposals to last-minute wedding surprises, their story has never been perfectly scripted, and that is precisely what makes it beautiful.
