Real Wedding

  • Serena and Karan

Both of them studied dentistry at Nova Southeastern University. That was the first thing that Dr. Serena Ghodasra and Dr. Karan Patel had in common. During freshman orientation in 2013, Karan fell in love with Serena during his first week of college. He chose to take his time because he was initially too frightened to approach her. And in 2014, they began dating.

The following several years were spent together. Together, they attended dentistry school and shared college classes as they worked toward their shared objective of becoming dentists. Finally, Serena and Karan traveled to Miami for his birthday weekend in the middle of the COVID period. Karan proposed to Serena at a stunning location overlooking the Miami skyline while they were there on a little cruise in the Miami Bay Area. Serena’s “yes” came as a pleasant surprise.

Indian wedding at Embassy Suites by Hilton
They made the decision to get married on February 11, 2023. The Embassy Suites in St. Augustine, Florida, was the ideal location for the bride and groom’s beachside wedding and reception because they both desired an intimate environment. For every event, they desired simple, contemporary, and beautiful styling. Additionally, the couple added personal touches to each celebration, and the 250 guests and members of both families were made to feel incredibly welcome.

Their Mehndi night served more as an icebreaker so that both Karan and Serena’s families could get to know one another. Everyone took part in the karaoke night by singing or dancing. The marriage ceremony was held inside. With a live Dholi and celebratory music, Karan rode up on his horse. The ring bearer was Lucky, a dog owned by Karan’s brother. He eagerly went in their direction with the rings on his collar since he was so happy to see the pair together.

The evening reception was a very lovely event as well. The wedding party entered to their favorite music, and the newlyweds came out to a Calvin Harris tune. With the abundant use of sparkler fountains, the entrance was elevated to a special level. The aunts, uncles, and cousins in Karan’s immediate family performed a group dance.

There were several different types of branded freebies, sunglasses, and technical elements like guest WhatsApp groups and Google Drive accounts. However, the delight, closeness, and friendly atmosphere of Serena and Karan’s wedding were the most significant aspects that affected everyone.

  • Stephanie and Neal

Through a dating service, medical specialist Neal Bharadwaj and TV producer Stephanie Waters met. They got together the following day and spent time together over the course of the following week. They developed a remarkable chemistry that made them enjoy each other’s company and wish to get together frequently. The two started casually dating in February 2019 and began a serious relationship in October of the same year.

In March, Neil was eager to pop the question at Stephanie. He went to the Steps at Sunset Cliff in San Diego, the perfect fusion of land and water like this great pair, and bought a ring of her choosing. On time, Stephanie was scheduled to fly to Florida for a four-month job. So, the anxious Neil got down on one knee and asked her lady to marry him. Stephanie happily replied, Yes.”

Indian wedding at Pasea Hotel & Spa

The moment to tie the knot then arrived. The 17th and 18th of September 2022 were chosen as the dates. They eventually settled on the Pasea Hotel in Huntington Beach, California, after looking at over 40 sites. They wanted a beach wedding because they are both fervent Vitamin Sea fans.

Their wedding planners handled everything with ease, and the entire celebration had a tropical theme. At a modest, private welcome meal for immediate relatives to meet the bride’s and groom’s families, they celebrated the bridal and family Mehndi. On the beach was where the Haldi Ceremony was held. All 150 guests attended a welcome celebration that combined the rehearsal dinner, Lady Sangeet, and a mehndi party.

The American wedding was in the afternoon on 18; the Indian wedding was in the morning on 17. Both ceremonies took place outside. Indian weddings included predominantly Bollywood music, with the bride entering to Ve Maahi-Kesari and the husband entering to Honey Singh’s Dil Chori. The catchy song Pehli Nazar Mein from the movie Race was played during the garland exchange. Wedding Qawalli—Bombay Dreams was played as the couple was pronounced husband and wife.

In American weddings, there are various musical and song themes. Sharp Dressed Man by ZZ Top was the entrance music for the groom. The Forest Gump Theme by Alan Silvestri was played for the bridesmaids and bridal parties, and it was also played for the ring bearer and flower girls. Canon D was played when the bride entered the room, and then All Shook Up by Elvis was played to honor the couple’s marriage proclamation.

With dancing performances, the groom playing the dhol, and a violin recital during cocktail hour, the reception also had a tropical theme. Everything went according to the couple’s hopes and plans. The first time they both saw each other in wedding clothes, it was a captivating experience for them both. It was an experience that defied description—a magical moment that will live on as one of their most treasured shared memories.

  • Asha and Phillip

The well-known rom-com Jerry Maguire served as the impetus for the heightened chemistry between Actress Asha Rampertaap and Financial Analyst Phillip Etherton. On 02-20-2020 the couple met at a Charity event in New York City where they found themselves finishing each other’s Jerry Maguire quotes. It was the epitome of “You Had Me at Hello,” and the start of  their endless love affair.

In February 2020, right before the pandemic swept the globe, the budding romance begins. Their love story became a long-distance one as a result of the prolonged lockdown and restrictions. Finally, on November 19, 2021, it was a Lights. Camera. Action! proposal from a movie script. Phillip faked an audition to pop the question to his actor love. In honor of Lord Ganesh, Phillip presented her with an engagement ring with two rose gold elephants. Asha responded with a joyous “Yes.”

The Wedding Week kicked off with the spirit and cheery vibes of the Christmas holiday, the Mehndi was celebrated at Asha’s exquisitely furnished home on December 14 followed by the Matikore and Haldi. The concept and decorations for Sangeet were influenced by Baz Luhrmann, Barbie Core, and Disney. It was a lavish event with red colors and velvety textures.

The ceremony took place in a grand ballroom adorned with 17 chandeliers on the morning of December 17, 2022. An enchanting Indian forest was the main motif. There was a floral-themed gold mandap with enormous blooms in the colors of red, yellow, orange, and pink. To evoke Alice in Wonderland, Asha chose enormous silk flowers. The interior was decorated with lots of elephant and lotus symbols, and there was a mirror aisle that was bordered by pools of floating lotus flowers. Asha made her grand entrance on an elegant royal blue doli by her male cousins, who were preceded by a dozen stunning bridesmaids wearing emerald and gold saris.

In a majestic white Bentley convertible with plush burgundy upholstery adorned with Indian flowers, Phillip made his debut. The guests were treated to a sumptuous vegetarian Indian lunch that followed the event. The reception had a Gilded Garden theme with candelabras and trees with gold leaves. An extravagant tree with ivory blossoms, gold foliage, and cascading lights was placed in the middle of the ballroom. Heaven is a Place on Earth by Belinda Carlisle and a spectacular fireworks show were the couple’s entrances. The 200 attendees enjoyed themselves and gave the couple their blessings.

As a surprise WOW factor the couple had a VERY special VIP guest, but you had to be there!

Asha and Phillip set off on their adventure together, filled with feelings of immense happiness and fulfillment as well as dreams for a promising future.

  • Kimberly and Manuj

Manuj Rattan, a doctor, and Kimberly Pais, a pharmacist, became friends while they were students at the University of Michigan. Kim liked Manuj right away, but their first conversation didn’t happen until after Kim moved in with Manuj’s sister, Juhi. In December 2013, they went on their first date with Juhi and began dating.

While Kim was dressed as her favorite figure, Ariel from The Little Mermaid, the proposal took place at Disney World. In the “Kiss the Girl” sequence from The Little Mermaid, Kim’s favorite part from the film, Manuj proposes to her while they are on the ride.

Manuj and Kim worked with a wedding planner who was helpful and helped them feel less stressed during the entire planning process. Keriann demonstrated her exceptional organizational skills by serving as a link between Kim and the vendors. Keriann coordinated all the arrangements and logistics with the suppliers because a traditional Indian wedding involves a lot of activities and both the bride and groom have full-time jobs.

The bride’s native state of Michigan served as the venue for the wedding. When they settled on the venue, they made sure the wedding highlighted all of Michigan’s distinctive features. The Renaissance Center in Detroit, a landmark of the city, served as both the wedding’s hotel and the site of the ceremony. The Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, which was picked for its past and distinctiveness, served as the venue for the celebration. Additionally, they were allowed entry to Greenfield Village so they could snap photos that matched Kim’s vision for her fantasy wedding.

The bride began her preparations for the Disney-themed wedding with a Rapunzel-themed mehndi, complete with a lantern-decorated tent and centerpieces depicting Rapunzel and Flynn Rider relaxing on a boat. The event’s dessert was also entirely Tangled-themed and featured biscuits that resembled Rapunzel’s dress and macarons with suns on them. The bride had Khattoi, a friend’s business, create a purple floral lehenga especially for her.

The Hindu ceremony was held at the Renaissance Center in Detroit, while the Catholic ceremony was held at Sweetest Heart of Mary Church. For the Catholic ceremony, the bride donned a customary white dress with a long train and the groom a French blue tuxedo. The bride wore a candy pink lehenga with white detailing and silver, dark green, and other ornaments for the Hindu wedding, and the groom wore a pink and white sherwani.

The groom rode in on a white horse for the baraat, which took place in front of the Renaissance Center on the Detroit River. The celebration was styled to resemble a Cinderella-like ball, and the tables were embellished with pink and white flowers and light blue tablecloths.

During the reception, a mix of American and Indian songs were played. For the bride and groom, Manuj’s mother and all of his aunts from Dayton, Ohio, put on a show. After that, the groom’s cousins performed, including a dance to Manuj’s favorite Hindi song (Oh Ho Ho Ho). Finally, a traditional Goan or Portuguese dance is performed by the bride’s nieces and nephews.
