Marvi and Ibrahim
They came from different backgrounds and cultures. Yet, their mutual love and eternal bond made each the perfect companion for one another. Marvi Qureshi and Ibrahim Gul were introduced to each other in their medical school in Orlando and felt chemistry right away. Both families were delighted with their bond and wanted them to tie the knot.
Ibrahim proposed to Marvi following the traditional Islamic culture known as Mangni. The wedding took place in a Mosque according to the religious customs in the pre-Covid time of December 2019. After this, they exchanged rings at Waldorf Astoria. The Covid pandemic and the related restrictions delayed the celebrations. Hence, the wedding and reception took place more than a year later, on June 19, 2021.

The duo enjoyed elaborate pre-wedding ceremonies organized by their close friends. Marvi had the privilege of celebrating at four different bridal showers hosted by her four bridesmaids. They also had four Dholkis celebrated at their friends’ places. There was the Mayoun event, too, where they had a flower separation sitting on the same couch while Marvi was putting on the bridal Mehndi.
The wedding ceremony at the Hyatt Regency-Orlando proved to be a grand event attended by 500 guests. Ibrahim arrived on a BMW i8 along with his family. Marvi appeared on a moon for her entrance driven by her brothers Mansoor and Kamran with songs and smoke permeating the room. “Floating” through the aisle and dance floor on the moon, Marvi dismounted and walked down to her groom. They cut a beautifully decorated five-tier cake and enjoyed songs and dance performances by family and friends of both. The couple left the venue with sparklers in hand as they entered the baraat car.
The reception, or Valima, venue was at Waldorf Astoria-Orlando. It took place during the day with beautiful décor that featured floating lanterns in the Waldorf Astoria’s gardens near the fountains in the back. The couple performed two dances highlighted by a special moment in which Ibrahim lifted Marvi, who looked gorgeous in her Mehndi-colored outfit and heavy bridal jewelry. It was Father’s Day and so the darling daughter enjoyed a father-daughter dance to the song “Dilbaro.” The Kashmiri tea stall at the wedding and reception was a grand success. It was indeed the melting pot of two different cultures united by love.

Radha and Aalok
Love is never planned; it is predestined and happens suddenly. That is what happened to interventional cardiologist Aalok Patel. His exhaustive virtual search for a soulmate was futile until he met physician Anuradha Bhavsar (Radha for short) on a dating app. There was an instant connection and great communication. Love that was hard to find was finally found just 70 miles away. They fell in love, and it was marvelous. After nine months of dating, Aalok proposed to Radha up in the sky on a helicopter ride capped off with an eager “Yes” from his lady.
The couple decided to tie the marital knot in a traditional Indian ceremony held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Orlando. It is Radha’s hometown and Aalok’s present residence. That is why Orlando was the perfect venue for both parties. The third weekend of January 2022 was booked, the date being January 22. The couple hired a decorator, photographer, caterer, makeup artist, henna artist, DJ, and finally a wedding planner for a picture-perfect wedding.

The dream wedding began with the Garba dance celebration the night before the wedding. Pink was the theme color, and both Radha and Aalok were draped in beautiful pink lehenga and sherwani amidst matching décor.
The wedding ceremony took place inside a banquet hall. It featured a touch of the Royal Indian wedding, as the groom arrived on a white horse with a mix of hip hop and bhangra music in the background. Classic Indian movie songs were played during the wedding ceremonies. The couple along with the groom’s family left in the horse and carriage. It was indeed a royal experience for all 250 guests in attendance.
The reception theme was dreamy and glamorous. Silver and pink accent pieces, textured lighting, and cold sparklers throughout the night created just the right ambience and effect. The stage was decorated with the names of the bride and groom, and the first dance song was “Ghost” by Justin Bieber. It was followed by medleys performed by the families and friends of both Radha and Aalok. Bollywood dance hits mixed with the latest hits comprised the music. It was a fantastic and fun-filled night that everyone enjoyed to their fullest.
The Omicron surge at that time did result in some cancellations, but everything went off peacefully and wonderfully. The virtual love story of Radha and Aalok ended in an intense real-life marriage full of love, respect, and compatibility between each other, paving the way for a lovely journey together.

Rajsee weds Abhinav
A casual introduction at middle school summer camp turned out to be a lifelong bond for Rajsee and Abhinav. After the summer camp, they remained in touch through social media. Fast forward 13 years and the now mature adults rekindled that chemistry from their childhood through a dating app. Their common interests and lengthy contact with each other made them an adorable couple. After dating for a year, Abhinav proposed to Rajsee at Mizner Park in Boca Raton in front of a beautiful gazebo in the presence of their best friends and siblings.
The wedding planning was a collaborative effort for the happy couple. They did all the preparations and decorations by themselves. Although both reside in Florida, they chose to have the wedding celebrations in Orlando, as the venues were beautiful and budget-friendly. Lake in Maitland was finalized for the Sangeet and Garba while the Sheraton Orlando North was perfect for the wedding and reception on May 28, 2022. All 130 guests who attended the wedding stayed in the Sheraton Orlando.

The duo celebrated the pre-wedding ceremonies of Ganesh Puja, Mehndi, Pithi or Haldi, and Sangeet. The first three were celebrated in the backyard of their homes which Rajsee and Abhinav decorated with touches of class and creativity.
It was a morning wedding inside the ballroom. Rajsee’s mother Bhairavi Pandya solemnized the wedding ceremony as a female purohit (priest). She explained all of the Sanskrit mantras in English which was a great experience for the guests. The color theme for the wedding was purple, red, and gold. The mandap was square-shaped and decorated with colored fabrics and florals with a floating Ganesh backdrop. Rajsee was escorted by her uncles and grandmother as she reached the aisle.
Abhinav arrived at the wedding venue in a Tesla with his friends and family dancing alongside until they reached the hotel entrance to meet the bride’s family. Bollywood songs dominated the marriage ceremony.
The reception was a gorgeous and colorful party with a blend of Bollywood and American pop songs. There were dance performances by both sides. The groom’s side entered the venue first followed by the bride’s family and friends. Royal blue, purple, and gold were the main colors. The centerpieces were tall candelabras with purple and white flowers while the stage featured a gold loveseat wrapped with gold sequin and blue fabrics.
Rajsee and Abhinav planned everything together which made their big day all the more special. Their creativity, innovation, and love for each other made them the perfect couple.

Binny and Dewang
The incessantly rainy night had a magic touch. It was the first real meeting between Binny and Dewang after virtual dating. They met at a Wine Bar in Garwood, NJ. A Rainy night and glass of wine created an instant bonding between them and they could feel that they had found their soulmates. Binny being a great fan of wine, Dewang arranged the proposal at Unionville Vineyards for a private wine tasting where Dewang put a sticker with “I love you, will you marry me” on the bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon, Binny’s favorite wine.
The couple wanted a destination wedding within the USA. Binny is a lover of greenery and Dewang is a beach person. Wild Dunes Resorts in Isle of Palms, South Carolina had the perfect coordination of both greenery and beach, which fascinated both the bride and groom. Hence It became the destination of their wedding ceremony on November 21, 2021.

The venue is so beautiful with an outstanding location, they did not give much emphasis on the decoration, keeping the natural beauty of the surroundings intact. They had a combined welcome party and Mehndi night at the poolside. Vidhi and Haldi were celebrated at the beach and the Sangeet was on the rooftop of one of the buildings of the resort. The wedding ceremony was in the morning. Binny and Dewang wrote letters to each other which they opened during the first look. The outdoor wedding was on a grassy area overlooking the beach. The palm trees and the greenery all around with a cool sea breeze created a soothing atmosphere. Both Binny and Dewang were dressed in shades of purple and the theme color was also shades of purple, yellow and white.
Dewang arrived at the wedding site in a 1965 Red Ford Mustang, with all of his family and friends. The music consisted of hip hop and EDM songs with a blend of Bollywood.
The color theme for the reception was black and gold. There was a lot of enjoyment, music, dancing and a skit on the love story of Binny and Dewang. All the 220 guests including the family and friends of the bride and groom had a gala time. There were first and last dances, Father/Daughter and Mother/Son dances were synchronized together. 90s hip hop, EDM and Reggaeton dominated the musical background.
The exquisitely creative bride designed all the invitations, wedding signs and above all her own, the grooms, and the bridesmaids’ outfits! Among all the festivities, both of them loved the exchange of letters the best. It was an exclusive expression of love and a sense of belonging for each other.

Noveen and Arpan
The dating app Bumble played the matchmaker for Noveen Moinpour and Arpan Bajaj. Following a number of years together, Arpan decided to propose to Noveen on the fourth anniversary of their first date. It was a pleasant surprise for Noveen as Arpan proposed to her during their Napa trip in front of the Golden Gate Bridge.
At the next stage of their relationship, the couple decided together to follow rituals from both the bride’s and the groom’s sides. Noveen being Persian and Arpan Indian, they had two dates and separate venues for two sets of weddings and receptions. The wedding weekend began with the Indian wedding which they celebrated on November 19, 2021, at Pier 27 in San Francisco. The Persian wedding followed the next day on November 20, 2021, at Fairmont Hotel, San Francisco. The lengthy guest list of 450 required hotels large enough to accommodate them.

The marriage was a perfect blend of Persian and Indian cultures where traditions, music, and celebrations were a happy combination of both traditions and ethos. Indian pre-wedding ceremonies, such as the Pooja and Mehndi, were celebrated at Arpan’s parents’ house. Despite being a Persian, Noveen participated in the Mehndi beautifully decked up in bright jewel tones of pink and yellow.
The Hindu wedding ceremony began at 4:00 p.m., followed by a cocktail and reception. With the San Francisco skyline as the backdrop, there was a simple mandap featuring burgundy and green flowers representing fall. Arpan arrived in a red Ferrari and the music was a blend of Hindi, Persian, and English songs. The Indian reception was a combination of both reception and Sangeet highlighted by speeches and dance performances from family members and friends. There were Mehndi artists and a bangle bar for the guests.
The Persian wedding ceremony was held inside the Gold Room at the Fairmont Hotel. A platform decorated with gold and white accent pieces was set. The flowers were green and white. The pillars had love poems in Persian calligraphy. The theme colors for the reception were black, gold, and white.
The entire theme and festivities of the dual-culture marriage made it all the more memorable for the couple. They received blessings from almost everyone for this beautiful marriage and both of them embraced and enjoyed each other’s traditions with love and respect.
