Anukiran Weds Hector Anukiran weds Hector

Anukiran and Hector’s love story defies the common belief that “opposites attract.” When they first met at ITT Technical Institute, they discovered they were not only pursuing the same degree and were in the same year, but also shared the same birthday. The young couple decided that it must be destiny that brought them together and knew that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together.

On the day of their graduation from ITT Tech, Hector proposed to Anukiran with both of their families present. At the time, Hector was already contracted with the government to join the United States Marine Corps and during their graduation dinner, his gunnery sergeant made a surprise appearance. He led Anukiran and their families outside, where Hector asked Anukiran to marry him. She was so surprised and speechless, yet she was happy to say “yes” in front of their families.

The couple hired Anand Event Services to plan the wedding, even though Anukiran initially wanted a do-it-yourself wedding. She realized that it requires an unreasonable amount of time and effort, and didn’t want to compromise the happiness of the wedding with a million unmanageable tasks. Anand Event Services coordinated everything from decorations for all of the events and their photographs. Rather than a destination wedding, the couple chose a hotel venue that was convenient for their families in South Florida. For the sangeet night, Anand Event Services decorated a clubhouse venue with a multi-colored theme that exceeded their expectations.

Instead of a wedding theme, Anukiran and Hector chose a simple red and white color scheme with floral varieties and colored drapes and sheets covering the gurudwara floor and walls. Hector arrived at the gurudwara in a vintage red Chevrolet show car, and the wedding transitioned into a navy, blue, and gold reception event. The centerpieces were all white, with beautiful hanging orchids and water gel crystals. Each centerpiece was delicately uplit with a white light to create a gorgeous, glowing effect.

During the reception, the bride and groom’s families entered first, followed by the newlyweds entering to their first dance song. Throughout the night, their 300 guests danced to a mix of bhangra, bachata, salsa, and American pop hits. Anukiran and Hector were glad that they were able to enjoy all of the small moments without frustration or stress, and their wedding turned out to be a beautiful event with the help of their accomplished wedding planners.

  • Seema weds Himanshu

    Seema Weds Himanshu
Seema and Himanshu’s story began the way many Indian romances do; they met through family, as Seema’s sister was college friends was Himanshu’s brother. After a chance meeting, the older siblings planned to set them up, and they connected via Facebook. Just two months later, Seema and Himanshu were boyfriend and girlfriend, and after four years of happily dating, were engaged.
    Seema Weds Himanshu

The surprise proposal was a recreation of a romantic getaway to NYC, one of Seema’s favorite destinations. Himanshu brought her flowers and fake plane tickets to NYC, and they eventually ended up at a local park to imitate Central Park. During dinner that evening, Himanshu whisked Seema away to a private room that was decorate with flowers, candles, photos of their adventures, and their favorite game, Scrabble. The letters on the board spelled out the big questions, and Seema was so overwhelmed and happy that she cried throughout the entire proposal, which was also secretly recorded on hidden cameras. After taking time to rejoice and share the news, they began planning the wedding themselves.

Seema’s sister was married in the previous year, and the prior experience gave Seema and Himanshu the confidence to coordinate their wedding without a planner. With the help of their friends and family, they chose a location nearby Seema’s parents in Georgia, and were able to coordinate several traditional events.

The Mehndi night took place at her parent’s neighborhood clubhouse, where they kept things casual with minimal decorations. The Vidhi was very similar and simplistic, with tents and tables sent up outside her parents’ driveways. The couple was keen on having a Patel Family welcome dinner, where they brought everyone together at an Indian restaurant to get to know each other before the hectic wedding day.
    Reception of Seema and Himanshu
The wedding itself was very traditional, with a red and gold color scheme and red roses along the white entrance aisle. The mandap was a classic design with gold poles, red and white background, hanging crystals and red and white flower balls for an elegant touch. Every aspect of the décor was coordinated to match, from the red and gold chair bows to the aisle runner pedestals with red and white silk flower wreaths.

Himanshu arrived in his uncle’s white Jeep SUV which was beautifully decorated with red ribbons and rhinestones. His family danced alongside the car towards the hotel entrance, where both the ceremony and reception took place. After the ceremony, the DJ played a mix of upbeat Bollywood music to get the celebration started, and the newlyweds even broke out in to a surprise choreographed dance during the reception. The reception décor was peacock themes, with statues on the stage, and various shades of deep purple, green, blue and gold throughout the room to contrast the traditional red and gold themed ceremony. When the new couple entered the reception, they were linked arm in arm and enjoyed the evening of celebration with their friends and family.

  • Snehal weds Tushaar

    Snehal weds Tushaar
Snehal and Tushaar met through a mutual friend, Melita, who knew Tushaar since high school and met Snehal during college. Melita had been encouraging Tushaar to settle down, and she decided to introduce her two friends on a hunch that they might get along. They met for dinner on their first date, and immediately felt a connection. Not long after, Tushaar had to go to Jamaica, but spent his entire trip on the phone with Snehal, and as soon as he returned, he took her on their second date. After matching their horoscopes and meeting each other’s families, they realized their union was destined, and just seven months after their first blind date, Tushaar proposed.
    Snehal weds Tushaar

The surprise proposal involved a picnic with Snehal’s family in Orlando, where Tushaar gave Snehal one of her favorite gifts: a new pair of sneakers. But as she tried them on, she saw an engagement ring tied to one of the shoes and she immediately realized that the moment she’d been waiting for was finally happened. Though they dated for just seven month, Snehal and Tushaar knew they met each other’s perfect match and there was no need to wait for the engagement. After about five years of engagement and settling into their respective careers, they began wedding planning for the most important day of their lives.

The couple chose an overseas destination wedding at an all-inclusive resort, where their families could enjoy the celebrations without worrying about preparations. Everything was taken care of, from meals to drink services, and it became a relaxing wedding vacation. They used the large open lobby for their meet and greet event and , , and the resort provided décor for their Grah Santi and Pithi. The resort was also especially accommodating for the wedding ceremony, building a Doli for Snehal’s entrance when she was unable to have one shipped from home. The ceremony theme included carnation flowers and rose petals, with a red, white, and gold color scheme. Tushaar rode a motorcycle in his Baraat procession, which was spontaneously joined by several tourists who were amazed to witness an Indian wedding.

    Snehal weds Tushaar
After the ceremony, there was a reserved train service available to drive their guests back and forth for the entire afternoon, and the reception began with a mix of Hindi and Garba music to begin the evening of celebration. The Moroccan-themed decor was navy blue and gold, with an LED light stage as the focal point. But in the end, Snehal and Tushaar were not picky about the décor or the small details: they were happy to finally be married in the presence of their loved ones.

  • Priya weds Ankit

    Priya Weds Ankit
Like many young women, Priya dreamed of the day she would find her Prince Charming, but she never thought she would meet him on Shaadi.com. The two began talking online and dated for about six months before deciding to make their relationship official. Ankit asked Priya’s parents for permission before planning the perfect surprise proposal. The couple traveled to Mexico, where Ankit took Priya to a private beach dinner and asked her to marry him, making it one of the happiest days of her life.
Priya began planning most of the wedding herself
Priya began planning most of the wedding herself, with help from her family in finding a venue and coordinating the events. Looking back, she wishes she hired a professional planner because it turned out to be more stress and effort than she anticipated. The pre-wedding events included a Mehndi night, Pithi, and Garba, all held in different ballrooms of the wedding venue on different nights. Each night had a different color scheme and theme, from a peacock theme and royal blue backdrops for the Mehndi night to colorful green, yellow, and red decorations for the Pithi. Their decorator, Sushma Patel, transformed the ballroom into a Radha Krishna paradise on Garba night, including lighted trees, statues, and dandiyas forming a circle around the décor.
Priya Weds Ankit - Radha Krishna paradise on Garba night

The wedding ceremony featured a traditional red, gold, and white theme with decorated runway leading to the mandap. As a fun twist, the bridesmaids and groomsmen entered as a flashmob, and the Baraat featured upbeat Hindi songs. Ankit entered in a white Lamborghini Hurcan Spyder, meanwhile the bridal party stayed at the venue and simply took the elevator to the ballroom.

The reception included a mix of music from American contemporary songs to Hindi classics as well as a surprise performance with the groom and both sides of the newlyweds’ families. The couple chose a royal blue and gold color scheme for the reception, with beaded tree centerpieces, floating candles, and hydrangea and rose floral arrangements in long vases. Also delivered to every guest for the toast was a unique rosemary sparkling ginger ale. Even though Priya and Ankit planned every aspect of the wedding without a planner, they were grateful to be surrounded by loved ones for help and support every step of the way.
