Diana Weds Ananta
Weddings are always special for the couple who is about to begin a new life together. When families are woven into the wedding story, the magic and fun that occurs multiples. Two years after dating Diana, Ananta sought the blessings of her parents and let his family in on his plans for a grand proposal. In the presence of his whole family, Ananta went down on one knee and proposed in style. No girl could have turned him down, and certainly not one who loved him as much as Diana.
Though most of Ananta’s family lives in New York and Diana’s in Miami, the couple chose their hometown, Orlando, as the wedding venue. Both were keen on a temple wedding, which worked well not only for the couple, but also for the guests given its central location. With a puja performed by the groom and bride’s families respectively, it was soon time for the all-important day.
The wedding was held in the afternoon. An intelligent choice of bright colors added to the cheerful atmosphere and enhanced its beauty. The use of red, orange, green, and pink with splashes of blue made for an exquisite collage, and drapes, flowers and candles were used throughout to accentuate the bright colors. Elephant statues adorned the main aisle, as well as the central area. Simple yet elegant programs in maroon were handed to guests as they arrived.
The traditional beat of a drum signalled the entry of the groom and his family. With the use of a fog machine, the groom made a grand entrance in his SUV lending the occasion a surreal touch. One of the bride’s cousins played a selected piece on the violin to set the mood before the bride made her appearance. The wedding was soon underway, and after the rituals, a dance performance by the bride’s niece and some fireworks brought the spectacular explosion of color and life to a close.
The couple chose to host a reception in Ananta’s home state. The newly married couple and bridal party arrived at the reception venue in a Hummer limousine. The ballroom at the Floral Terrace in New York came to life with pale pink, white and yellow flowers lit up with candles and gold pedestals. Glistening lights and chandeliers reflected the upbeat mood, while cocktails, food and a huge wedding cake catered to the appetite of the guests. The DJ belted out a mix of songs of various genres including Bollywood, hip hop, and reggae.
According to the couple, communication and compromise both contribute to a happy marriage. Considering that apart from a little speech that was overlooked things worked perfectly at this wedding, so you should certainly want to follow what they say!

Rima weds Ankit
Celebrations, ceremonies, love, and blessings are elements that complete any wedding. Rima and Ankit’s wedding is no different and includes all these in just the right proportions to take your breath away.
Rima and Ankit met through a mutual friend while in graduate school at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Ankit was attending pharmacy school and Rima was attending the law school. One day Ankit decided to get Dish Network, and he mustered the courage to invite Rima over to watch Bollywood movies with him. Though Rima would act as though she did not care, secretly, she came to enjoy watching the films with Ankit. Slowly and gradually, watching Bollywood love stories together led the two to fall in love, and well, the rest is history.
The proposal itself was straight from the pages of a romantic fairy tale. Ankit, who normally sticks to the kiddie section of a pool, quite literally dove into the middle of the vast ocean. As it was one of the coldest days of the year in Fort Lauderdale, Rima was reluctant to join him in the bone chilling water, but somehow Ankit and the scuba instructor convinced her. She was in for quite the surprise. Once in the water, she saw a large tarp sitting at the bottom of the sea asking Rima to marry Ankit. Overjoyed with emotions, she freaked out for a moment before saying “Yes!”. Later, the scuba instructors brought them together, and Ankit officially put a ring on her finger.
Soon thereafter, Rima and Ankit began planning, which took them over a year to bring their dream wedding to life. Though they did not hire any professional planners, they did rely on plenty of help from their lovely friends and family. They picked the World Golf Village Renaissance Resort in St. Augustine, Florida, as the wedding destination.
The sangeet/raas garba was followed by a welcome dinner that was on the terrace of the resort, which offered guests a breathtaking view of the beautiful golf course. Magnificent lights and lanterns lit up the entire terrace space, and different food stations ensured a delightful evening was had by all.
The wedding ceremony was held indoors in the resort’s large ballroom. The décor was purposely kept simple, yet very elegant. The white mandap with bright pink flowers was lit up with a soft pink lightning just around the ballroom. Rima arrived in an elaborately designed dholi. As Rima and Ankit performed the wedding rituals, a lighthearted picture slideshow played entertaining guests. DJ Hiren took control and played countless Bollywood music hits, setting a festive mood.
The décor for the wedding reception was inspired by Club Tao in Las Vegas. The entire room was decorated in red and black with intricately designed Buddha scriptures to create a contemporary Asian Fusion look. To enhance the look, candles and black stones were used for decoration, while keeping florals to a minimum.
Rima and Ankit advise all would-be couples to enjoy and capture every cherished moment of their wedding as the moments slip by too fast. Also, they request new brides and grooms to stop obsessing over every tiny detail, as they are most likely to miss the fun if they do so.

Swayam weds Dhiren
Although Swayam and Dhiren met under the most unexpected of circumstances, it was clear from the outset that the universe was trying to tell them something. Sure enough, a little over four years later, both families were readying to formalize their engagement. With just under two weeks to the day, Dhiren felt a sense that something was amiss, and decided he needed to step up his game and propose to Swayam before he lost her. This was in fact, what Swayam had been waiting for all along. He hadn’t asked her! Against a backdrop of a sandy beach – a landscape both loved most – Dhiren used flowers and chocolates to seal the deal.
The couple spent one year planning for the wedding. Dhiren wanted to stay true to tradition, so the couple got married in Swayam’s hometown. Over six hundred guests were in Enterprise, Alabama, to join the couple in festive celebrations. Being in her hometown allowed Swayam’s family easy access, and also ensured enthused participation from everyone.
Event planner, Palloo’s Weddings, was consulted for all arrangements. As photographer, Ashok Pancholi captured every moment and wove a lifetime of experiences together with his camera.
Palloo’s Wedding understood Dhiren and Swayam’s vision perfectly. The couple’s favorite themes were used giving the wedding a new dimension with their ideas. The families were with the couple every step of the way, as they were clear that this was not just the union of two individuals, but the coming together of two families for life.
Navratri was the theme for the sangeet. All elements that pointed to this festival – including the aarti, matkas and dandiyas were brought in along with generous splashes of color. Then followed the wedding ceremony. Programs detailing the events and their significance along with notes on the bride, groom and their entourage were carefully listed, and decorated artistically.
In a unique twist, the bride and groom recorded their sentiments, and the sounds bites were played during their respective walks down the aisle. The central mandap was decorated with a fountain. Cascading waters gave a sense of calm and the outdoors, both feelings the bride and groom strongly shared. Dhiren entered stylishly and whisked away his new bride in a dashing Corvette. The wedding was followed by dances and skits, all of which added high entertainment value to the already enjoyed event.
The only glitch on the day was the smoke from the sacred fire nearly setting off the fire alarm! Other than that, every bit of effort paid off, and all emotions bore fruit as each family became richer by the addition of a new set of loved ones.

Shivani weds Christopher
Shivani Patel, a mortgage processor, and Christopher Carranza, an assistant bakery manager, were first introduced by mutual friends who wanted the two to date. When they actually met, sparks immediately flew. Two years and two months after they began dating, Christopher proposed during a vacation in Orlando. After a romantic dinner on the first night of their holiday, the couple was sitting in the balcony when Christopher went inside to put more sugar in his coffee and returned with a ring. He went down on a knee asked her the question. She said yes and wedding bells began to ring.
Shivani’s mother, Bhavna, took charge of the wedding planning and her sister Puja helped the bride decide important aspects. To be sure all went smoothly, they hired an event planner, Pinky Patel, to help them organize the wedding day. They had 10 months to do the planning, and with the help of the planner, everything went smoothly, despite a few stressful moments.
The wedding took place at the Hilton Orlando, given its convenient location and proximity to the airport. The wedding was preceded by the mehendi and vidhi. The mehendi ceremony took place at Shivani’s parents’ home in Tampa. The entire place was decorated by the bride’s family, who flew in from London for the wedding. The vidhi ceremony took place at Hunters Green Country Club, located in Tampa. The venue was decorated by Krishna Events.
Shivani’s family hired a coach to travel from her parent’s home in Tampa to Orlando, since about fifty of them were traveling together. On July 12, 2014, Shivani and Christopher wed in an Indian ceremony held in the Hilton’s ballroom. Later that afternoon, after the Indian ceremony, the couple took their vows in a civil ceremony held in another ballroom. Krishna Events decorated both the ballrooms.
Dudha Productions brought the ceremony to life with amazing music. They played during all wedding events. For the Indian ceremony, the groom entered to the tunes of “Jab Tak Hai Jaan” and the bride entered to “Tum Hi Ho” from Aashiqui 2. “Mere Haath Mein” from Fanaa floated through the ballroom as the bridesmaids entered. For the civil ceremony, the bridesmaids and groomsmen entered to “Marry Me” by Train. The bride made a beautiful entry to “I Do” by 98 Degrees.
The reception was a grand affair with the venue decorated in a lovely combination of purple and teal. The three unique centerpieces were made using purple and teal orchids and crystals. The tables were covered with purple tablecloths and beautiful silver chargers. The bright lighting lit up the entire room beautifully.
Music for the reception was mainly Indian, with a few dashes of American music. The bride and groom walked in to”Desi Girl” from Dostana. The couple’s first dance was to “Endless Love” by Mariah Carey and Luther Vandross. Shivani’s sister and her friends performed a dance for the newlyweds. The groom and his mother danced to “Because You Love Me” by Celine Dion. The bride and her father danced to “Butterfly Kisses” by Bob Carlisle.
Shivani and Christopher had a dream wedding. The couple advises would-be brides and grooms to enjoy the engagement and wedding planning phase because the wedding comes and goes before you even know it!
