Paloma weds Neil
Sometimes friends and family play a pivotal role in helping a couple come together. In other cases, a wonderful platform called shaadi.com does the trick. This is just what brought Neil and Paloma together. It seemed destined to be, as Paloma met Neil almost instantly, on the first day that she registered a profile.Although they knew each other for two weeks before arrangements were made for a wedding, there was no sign of a formal proposal. After going to New York to meet Paloma and staying for a week, Neil still resisted proposing since he wanted to take her by surprise. After Neil met Paloma’s family and they reciprocated by driving to Alabama to see his, wedding planning and preparation began in full swing.
While all of the planning progressed as scheduled, Neil paid Paloma a surprise visit on Valentine’s Day, taking flowers to her place of work, and then sweeping her off for a helicopter ride after. After arranging for a four-course meal, Neil presented her with a locket asking if Paloma would marry him. Before she could take in what was happening and answer, Neil was on his knees with a ring!
With seven months to plan for the wedding, the families and planner Rita from Ribha Events had more than their plates full. The Grand Hyatt at Buckhead offered a ballroom unlike any other, which helped Paloma make her choice. Prepared for a morning wedding in full glory, it was taken over by Remmal with Occasions by Shangri-la, who added to its beauty tastefully. On the wedding day, DJ Hiren played a wonderful mix of music. Special songs were played for the couple, and professional dancers were brought in to perform next to the mandap when she arrived.
At the reception, everyone was treated to great food, music and a warm family atmosphere. There were special dances, including one for the father and daughter. Paloma really did have everything she dreamt of at the wedding, and she wastes no time explaining that while it is easy for stress to take over, it is important to find time to slow things down and unwind. And no matter what happens, you are sure to recount a seemingly perfect wedding afterward!

Virtually in Love – Kaveri Weds Baadal
Love can strike at any time, anywhere. It happens when you least expect, and embraces you only after you have searched long and hard. No matter what it takes to meet your one true love, it is always worth the wait.In a world that has advanced so rapidly, Kaveri’s journey for love has truly kept pace. Although she and Baadal were rather apprehensive about the prospect of online dating, destiny took them both there. On the insistence of both their families they registered online profiles. Coincidentally, Baadal was the first person with whom Kaveri started talking. Ten months later on a glorious Christmas morning, they were engaged. On bended knees before a family gathering, Baadal proposed with a ring, and Kaveri found every reason to accept.
Since both families lived in Orlando, there was little doubt where the wedding would be held. Hilton Bonnet Creek lent the perfect ambience, and offered off a swanky new dazzle none could resist.
With both families participating in the planning, Kaveri and Baadal had plenty of support. Combined with the wedding coordinator at the Hilton Bonnet Creek, they were a full team. With so many taking on a fair number of tasks, the couple began to understand just how much went into organizing a wedding. The wedding ceremony was held indoors to save everyone from the summer heat. A raised aisle decorated with lights and rose petals led to the mandap. Ceremony programs that were fashioned in India were placed on each chair, and detailed every stage of the ceremony. Dudha Productions was in charge of all musical arrangements. Soon, Baadal arrived from the skies in a helicopter accompanied by his brother and best friend, and the wedding was underway.
The reception really took the wedding to a whole new level. A peacock theme brought in vibrance and colors giving the event a royal, luxurious feel. Tables were decorated with flowers and candles, and blue and white lights brought everything to life. Following a special performance by Kaveri and Baadal, the dance floor was filled with eager friends and family members, all of whom danced the night away. Drinks flowed freely, and a giant dessert and candy station only heightened the sweetness of the moment. In hindsight, there are only nostalgic memories that both Kaveri and Baadal have of their wedding days. There are no glitches or disasters that can be recounted. Kaveri advises that all couples enjoy their wedding fully just like she and Baadal did. After all, no duress or worry can quite match the moment that you are preparing for, and eventually, everything seems trivial when you look back. The only thing that remains is that you married your best friend.

Grand Romance – Naiya Weds Rahul
When you are in love, it is impossible not to say ‘yes’ when the question of marriage arises. Even if it comes in the form of an informal question over dinner or as a part of conversation, the moment is always special. When Rahul proposed during a vacation to Italy with violinists playing in the background, the setting was perfect. A large diamond ring just added to the glamour. Even though Naiya was expecting their relationship to progress in this direction, she was still charmed.
Having fully enjoyed the magical moment, Naiya and Rahul soon realized there was a wedding to be planned and arrangements to be made! After scouring for venues, Naiya decided on celebrating at the Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort. Orlando made for a good choice since it was closest to where her parents lived. For its class and sophistication the Wyndham Grand was perfect, and it was the resort’s first opportunity to host an Indian wedding.Hameant Raghubir stepped in as the man in charge, and he handled the wedding coordination perfectly. The sangeet ceremony embraced the Indian mela atmosphere, with little stalls that dished out items typically seen at a bazaar. Food was served in huts made of bandhini fabric. The favors were all grand and Indian – bindis, anklets and bangles. A photo booth ensured that priceless moments would be captured and cherished forever.
The grand ceremony took place against a lavish palace setting that called to mind theepic movie, Jodha Akbar. While the mandap was the center of activity, there were peripheral arrangements made using flowers and lights to complete the look. To match the theme, Naiya walked in every bit the queen of everyone’s heart, and Rahul came in on a grand elephant creating a moment that was certainly one of the highlights of the day. Combined with special songs that were played in the background for the bride and groom as they came in was traditional shehnai music.
To give a feeling of warmth and intimacy during the reception, the couple chose white, ivory and gold as predominant colors, all of which were reflected in the drapes and flowers. An air of romance was accentuated with the use of roses and candles. Amber lights elevated the feel to a new level. With special dances and speeches, the cake was cut and the celebration began as people took to the dance floor heartily. Complementing the DJ was renowned saxophonist Naty Rico who added a new dimension to the magic of the evening.
Now settled in wedded bliss, the couple advises you to let go of the small things that you have little control over. Time goes by all too quickly and the wedding will be over before you know it, so you might as well make the most of the moment as you can.

The Magic Carpet Ride – Sabrina Weds Raj
Who said a marriage cannot be all about fun and merriment? With your true love by your side, there is little to cause worry. Marriage does come with its own share of tense and memorable events, no matter how it is enjoyed. When the people are special, the wedding is certain to be one that cannot be forgotten.Following a three-year friendship, Raj and Sabrina followed a most natural progression. With a magical proposal on New Year’s Eve, Raj got down on one knee with a spectacular ring, and there was no way Sabrina could have said anything but a resounding yes.
Although the families had over a year to plan for the wedding, time flew by quickly. After all, there is never anything like enough time to plan and shop. A quick dash to India enabled Sabrina and her family to pick out clothes, jewelry and invitations. With the families handling details with regards to the venue and catering, they made the prudent decision of leaving matters related to decor to professionals
Two country clubs in North Carolina were chosen for the wedding and reception, and they waited in readiness to welcome the 400 guests. Large open windows brought in the abundant sunshine and also revealed a view of the scenic outdoors. Flowers and runners added to the visual appeal, along with the colorful delight that the breakfast and lunch spreads offered. Program books that matched the logos on the runner gave a sense of cohesion to the overall look.
After a traditional Sikh wedding and the customary keertan, Raj and Sabrina were formally man and wife. After a hearty lunch, plans for the reception followed.A DJ welcomed guests and kept them entertained with bhangra and the latest music. Luminescent colors brought in with the help of drapes, crystals, flowers and candles elevated the venue to look glamorous and tasteful. Coral, gold and purple were predominant colors, although various other shades danced off the lights and crystals merrily. A Hollywood backdrop and ice sculptures were standouts as far as attractions were concerned, while the trees that stood in welcome and the votive candles were widely appreciated. Speeches from closest family members tied the event together perfectly.
Planning a wedding is fun, but can be a test of nerves. Sabrina suggests that you take time off to do something completely unrelated to help give you a well-deserved break and keep you energized. She recommends enjoying a movie or drinks with friends. Although she braved several nightmares including rain on the wedding day and wardrobe malfunctions, she breezed through the event like the princess she truly was.
Such is the magic of your wedding. A cauldron of emotions churns in your stomach. While you cannot wait for the special day, you still feel time goes by too fast. However, nothing can match the dreamlike walk down the aisle or the ecstasy of finally becoming one with the prince you waited for all your life.

Love in the Fast Lane Mattie weds Naresh
While love may take years to grow on some, a meeting at work soon grew into friendship and then a relationship with love playing catalyst in this story. Mattie and Naresh had a whirlwind romance, and were soon to be wed. It can be somewhat easy when you are so at ease and so reassured. Knowing fully well how women can be lured into anything with shopping, Naresh decided he would take Mattie on an innocent visit to the mall where he could buy her a ring and propose. And although he tried to hold the surprise back for as long as he could, Mattie’s growing impatience made him spill the bean a tad too soon. That, however, did nothing to take the magic away from the moment, and they were soon on their way to the walk down the aisle.Although the formal engagement followed only four months later, preparations for the wedding began much earlier. With a decision to enjoy a wedding at home, it may have seemed like the going was going to be easy, but there was plenty to do. Luckily for them, there were enough family member and friends all pitching in to help.
While July 1st was the Big Day, there were intimate ceremonies that took place before it. The haldi ceremony that took place at the bride and groom’s residence simultaneously, followed by a night of entertainment. While the decor for both events was relatively simple, plenty was going on towards getting ready for the all-important wedding ceremony.Rakesh Anand and his team managed gold pillars with a red dome as the basic framework, with up lighting and delicate scrollwork accentuating the design. The tables too reflected the colors in the tablecloth and overlay. There was entertainment in the form of a live band, treats in the wedding favors and a carefully crafted program all awaiting the guests. The aunts, meanwhile, chopped, mixed and spiced tirelessly to bring together an overwhelming feast of vegetarian foods and dessert. Before the time could be checked, the bride was ready and the wedding was set to begin.
Naresh, clad in a cream Sherwani, arrived in a grand limousine, and after a three day wait, got to meet his wife to be at her home in Lauderhill. Amid religious prayer and glamorous outfit changes, the bride and groom went through a seamless ceremony, and Naresh and Mattie left in the limo after the bidaai ceremony.
The reception was taken over completely by Mattie and Naresh, who planned and went through details personally. The Weston Hills used its natural beauty and combined it with the judicious use of carefully chosen flowers to look sublime. Ready to welcome close to 300 guests, the venue reflected the purple and ivory theme radiantly. Soon, dressed in a charcoal grey suit and white wedding gown, the man and wife presented themselves to the guests, and the evening was officially flagged off. Dances with father and mother respectively, an open dance floor and generous toasts ensured there was enough to have everyone in good humour.Mattie went through the wedding with least stress. She now advises that you include as many close friends and family members as you can to help manage different aspects. She also wisely adds that you look only vendors and ensure they come with sound references. For the bride, she adds pointedly that you make sure that you have eaten and had plenty of water. With all the activity and excitement, you are most likely to forget about eating, and it can take a toll on your health. Eat, drink and be merry, for this is truly your special day!
