Shivani weds Aakash Indian Wedding at The Hilton Orlando Photographed Fine Art Productions
Imagine taking a stroll by the water in a park and suddenly you notice rose petals on the ground and a photographer clicking away trying to capture each and every moment of your movements. Before you know it, your best friend and your soulmate is on one knee asking you to marry him. For a moment you want to pinch yourself to be sure you are not dreaming. This was not a dream, but reality for Shivani when Aakash proposed to her at Curtis Hixon Park in Tampa.
After this romantic proposal came the real work. Planning and picking the right wedding vendors so their big day went as smoothly as possible. Planning a wedding along with trying to juggle between work, looking for a house, community service, and trying to have some sort of social life, seemed almost impossible. Luckily, from the very beginning Shivani and Aakash hired Umangi Patel & Rikti Smart with Elite Dream Creations. Shivani recommends any bride planning a traditional Indian wedding to hire a wedding planner! They have creative ideas and clever ways of efficiently handling certain situations.

Given most Indian weddings are large productions with several events and lots of people. Shivani and Aakash planned to invite more than 700 people for their celebration, so picking the right, and large enough, venue was a challenge. A venue in Orlando was ideal since Aakash lives in Tampa and Shivani in Viera. The couple wanted to be sure to find the right location, with hospitality and the right price tag. The Hilton Orlando offered everything they needed for their fairytale wedding.
The couple’s big day was November 9, 2019, and included pre-wedding events such as the Mehndi, Sangeet and Pithi.
The wedding ceremony was indoors. The Occasions by Shangri La decor team created a true vision in the ballroom. Upon entering, a beautiful floral ring of white, ivory, and hints of blush pink, hung over the mandap, with four hanging wisteria vines. The walls were covered with a beautiful golden drape and two massive Ultra HD screens projecting a live feed behind the mandap. Two white floral peacocks were resting at the front of the aisle, which was all white with floating candles lined across the side.
When planning the reception, Shivani wanted it to feel like the first day she met Aakash at Tomorrowworld. The stage was designed and decorated exactly the same way to resemble the stage where the couple originally met. The Grand Finale of the wedding came when couple’s first dance performance began to the tune “I Like Me Better” by Lauv. Schamir, one of Aakash’s groomsmen, played the piano while Hanna Malik, Shivani’s friend, sang the song.

Anu weds Darshan Indian wedding at Gujarat Cultural Association Photographed Zamana Lifestyles Photography & Videography
Is love at first sight possible? Two strangers meet each other at a party and there’s an instant attraction, an electric spark, and suddenly they’ve found their match and never look back. Believe it or not, this is exactly what happened to Anu and Darshan. The two met eight years ago at a birthday party and instantly knew they were made for each other. Anu and Darshan also defied another misconception that long distance relationships do not work. Though Anu was living in Tennessee and Darshan in Texas, the couple managed to make it through their college days and even graduate school.
If you think the beginning was romantic, imagine how the proposal enfolded for these two. Darshan planned the surprise proposal with all the minute details. Darshan made arrangements for Anu to fly to Texas, order Torchy’s Taco (the couple’s favorite food) ready at the hotel, and took her to their final spot in Hermann Park in Houston. While there, he got down on one knee for the romantic proposal one month before Anu graduated pharmacy school. Soon after they set their wedding date for July 14, 2019, and immediately began planning. An Indian wedding without a wedding planner is almost impossible and especially when Anu and Darshan were planning five events and a 1,200 person wedding! One early decision the couple made was to hire K.I Weddings as their planner.

The real fun began with pre wedding events including the Mehndi, Vidhi and Garba. Anu and Darshan wanted to be sure their romance was reflected in their wedding events. What comes to your mind first when you hear the word “love?” For most Hindus, Radha-Krishna represent an epitome of love, selfless love. So Anu decided the centerpiece for the garba would be a murti of Radha-Krishna dancing surrounded by candles. The dandiya and the stage had two panels of large peacock feathers that Krishna wears on his head.
The symbolism of love continued on their wedding day. When Darshan arrived at wedding place on a black convertible Corvette driven by his brother, they experienced some light drizzle during the baraat entrance. According to Hinduism, rain is tied to luck and an abundance of love and blessings from heaven for couple’s bright future together.
Anu paid attention to every tiny detail while planning her wedding day decor. The décor was blush pink and white floral with gold touches that helped Anu’s dress stand out. She also had an open mandap because they have a large family and each one had a role during the ceremony
The reception décor was modern with green boxwood and gold with geometric shapes and circles. Flowers were white hydrangeas. Anu’s dress was blush pink so they incorporated that with a touch of pink flowers on the stage.
And finally this romantic union of two souls displayed the true epitome of love when the couple began their first dance performance with the song “Jab Koi Baat Bigad Jaye” that translates to “Whenever something goes wrong, Whenever there’s a problem, Stand by my side, My Beloved.”

Sejal weds Nirav Indian Wedding at The Westin Atlanta Perimeter North Photographed PixelCollection Photography
It has been said that when two people are destined to connect at heart, it doesn’t matter what they do, who they are, or where they live, they will surely be united! Sejal and Nirav are an embodiment of such a romantic union. Family friends are the reason the two were brought together. But after that, they took over the control of their destiny. They used texting and messaging as an ice-breaker. Then Nirav took the next bold step, asking Sejal out on a date. With Sejal from Georgia and Nirav from Arizona, the duo chose Washington, DC, for their first date.

After several phone conversations, late-night texts and a few spontaneous meetups, Nirav decided to propose to Sejal. But he wanted it to be a romantic surprise. They decided to go on a cruise to Cuba and Grand Cayman. On the last day of the cruise, Nirav decided to pop the question. In the evening Nirav suggested they go watch the sunset from the deck. There was a beautiful sunset over the vast expanse of the Caribbean. The clouds were hues of rich gold, blue and purple. Sejal was walking carefree in front of Nirav enjoying one of the most amazing sunsets, swinging her arms front and back. And suddenly Nirav grabbed Sejal’s hand and as she turned around, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him with the most gorgeous ring she had ever seen. It was beautiful and romantic. And, of course, Sejal said “yes.”
After two years of dating, Sejal and Nirav decided to celebrate their love on September 7, 2019, at the grand Westin Atlanta Perimeter North in Atlanta, Georgia. With both busy working as physicians and putting in long hours at work, they decided to hire Diya Desai of Pixel Events as their wedding planner.
Wedding festivities began with a mehendi, pithi, and garba. Each event had its own unique theme, Moroccan themed décor for the mehendi and traditional Indian décor for Garba. The couple made a spectacular entry at their garba riding a bicycle-rickshaw.
The big day began with not one baarat, but two! Yes, Sejal decided to surprise everybody and made an entry with a baarat of her own, just like her groom. She arrived with her brother in a white Lamborghini with her own mobile DJ truck.
The wedding ceremony was in the Westin’s spectacular banquet hall. The custom-made mandap by Utopian Events was an open concept with open crystal balls filled with roses hanging from the foundation.
The reception was in a true sense the “Grand Finale” for their celebrations. The mandap was opened up and turned into a backdrop. Roses were replaced with floating candles. The dance floor was starlit with led lights. In addition to tasting the delicious cuisine, guests witnessed family dance performances, but all eyes were on the beautiful couple, as they had their first dance to a medley of “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran and “Leja Leja Re” by Dhvani Bhanushali.

Vaishali Weds Shivraj Indian Wedding at Sheraton Orlando North Photographed Fine Art Productions
When Vaishali Thakkar and Shivraj Patel connected through the dating app Dil Mil, little did they know that this connection would turn into a lifelong bond.
After texting for a couple of hours, Shivraj, who was in New York, decided to call Vaishali, in Chicago. Their first call lasted for over three hours. After this, neither the distance nor their busy lives could keep them apart for long.

After dating for a year, Shivraj decided to propose Vaishali. As Vaishali loved beaches, he flew her out to the Don CeSar Resort in St. Petersburg, Florida. As the couple took a stroll along the resort’s private beach, Vaishali saw “will you marry me” written in the sand with seashells. Shivraj got down on one knee and surprised Vaishali with a romantic beachside proposal (captured by a hidden photographer)!
On August 3, 2019, Vaishali and Shivraj tied the knot at the Sheraton Orlando North Hotel. In addition to a pre-wedding pithi ceremony and Grah Shanti puja, the couple planned a garba evening, where the theme was Arabian Nights. Vaishali made her entrance on a “magic carpet” floating on clouds (of smoke), pushed by her groom.
For the wedding, Vaishali and Shivraj chose a temple theme, and the venue’s aisles were lined with extravagant cascading bells. Shivraj’s baarat was accompanied by a mobile DJ, and he entered the venue with “Azeem O Shaan Shahenshah” playing in the background.
Vaishali entered under a traditional phoolon ki chaadar, decorated with real flowers in colors complementing her dress and accented with fairy lights. She made her way down the aisle to the music of “Tujh Mein Rabb Dikhta Hai.”
The reception featured a peacock theme, and the venue was designed with colorful floral centerpieces of candelabras and peacocks. One of the most interesting décor elements at the reception were the two in-love peacocks made out of flowers matching the bride and the groom’s outfits.
The newlyweds first dance to John Legend’s “All Of Me,” was a magical moment accented with mood lighting and fog machines. The two looked as if they were dancing above the clouds, leaving guests gasping in awe!
During cocktail hour, DJ Sangeen kept guests entertained with a mix of Bollywood, Punjabi and Hip-Hop music. A few suprise dance performances were planned for guests, including two separate performances by the bride and the groom’s family.

Gopita weds Ruby Indian Wedding at Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort and Spa Photographed by Rob Hurth Photography
A right swipe on a dating app Coffee Meets Bagel led Gopita Patel to her life partner Ruby Patel. When Gopita saw Ruby’s profile on the app, she almost did not swipe right as she thought he was too good looking. But fate had different things in mind, and Gopita and Ruby hit it off instantly.
After dating for 10 months, Ruby planned a proposal for Gopita. At the Redington Shores Beach, Florida, as they stood together hand-in-hand, staring at the ocean, Ruby got down on one knee and proposed to her. With tears of happiness running down her cheeks, Gopita said yes!

Gopita and Ruby found their perfect venue at Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort and Spa, in Bonita Springs, Florida. The couple’s pre-wedding ceremonies included a mehendi night, pithi ceremony, and Grah Shanti puja, which were held in their respective homes.
For the wedding, Gopita and Ruby wanted to keep the decor simple, elegant and traditional for their outdoor wedding and used the colors red, white, and green. Their stunning white mandap was decorated with lines of red roses and cascading green leaves on top. A red floral Ganpati blessed the couple from behind their chairs, and the aisle was filled with red roses.
The bride’s outfit inspired the reception décor. Gopita wore an icy blue lehenga choli covered in glistening beads. She wanted the décor to be as magical and shiny as her reception dress. Everything had a touch of shiny silver and glistening sequin work. The centerpieces were a mix of candles with white roses and baby’s breath. The couple added many personalized DIY touches to their wedding such as creating the table numbers and seating charts by hand.
The couple entered the reception with their closest friends and family to a group dance. The group danced to “Saajan Ji Ghar Aaye.” Gopita and Ruby’s first dance was to James Arthur’s “Say You Won’t Let Me Go,” which was sung by Gopita’s cousin.
Gopita’s sister Parita planned the entire reception, and there were a lot of happy surprises for the couple, but especially for Gopita. During a performance by Gopita’s brothers, Ruby surprised her by joining them and dancing to her favorite song “Jab Se Tere Naina!”
