Swayam weds Dhiren

Although Swayam and Dhiren met under the most unexpected of circumstances, it was clear from the outset that the universe was trying to tell them something. Sure enough, a little over four years later, both families were readying to formalize their engagement. With just under two weeks to the day, Dhiren felt a sense that something was amiss, and decided he needed to step up his game and propose to Swayam before he lost her. This was in fact, what Swayam had been waiting for all along. He hadn’t asked her! Against a backdrop of a sandy beach – a landscape both loved most – Dhiren used flowers and chocolates to seal the deal.
The couple spent one year planning for the wedding. Dhiren wanted to stay true to tradition, so the couple got married in Swayam’s hometown. Over six hundred guests were in Enterprise, Alabama, to join the couple in festive celebrations. Being in her hometown allowed Swayam’s family easy access, and also ensured enthused participation from everyone.
Event planner, Palloo’s Weddings, was consulted for all arrangements. As photographer, Ashok Pancholi captured every moment and wove a lifetime of experiences together with his camera.
Palloo’s Wedding understood Dhiren and Swayam’s vision perfectly. The couple’s favorite themes were used giving the wedding a new dimension with their ideas. The families were with the couple every step of the way, as they were clear that this was not just the union of two individuals, but the coming together of two families for life.
Navratri was the theme for the sangeet. All elements that pointed to this festival – including the aarti, matkas and dandiyas were brought in along with generous splashes of color. Then followed the wedding ceremony. Programs detailing the events and their significance along with notes on the bride, groom and their entourage were carefully listed, and decorated artistically.
In a unique twist, the bride and groom recorded their sentiments, and the sounds bites were played during their respective walks down the aisle. The central mandap was decorated with a fountain. Cascading waters gave a sense of calm and the outdoors, both feelings the bride and groom strongly shared. Dhiren entered stylishly and whisked away his new bride in a dashing Corvette. The wedding was followed by dances and skits, all of which added high entertainment value to the already enjoyed event.
The only glitch on the day was the smoke from the sacred fire nearly setting off the fire alarm! Other than that, every bit of effort paid off, and all emotions bore fruit as each family became richer by the addition of a new set of loved ones.

Shivani weds Christopher

Shivani Patel, a mortgage processor, and Christopher Carranza, an assistant bakery manager, were first introduced by mutual friends who wanted the two to date. When they actually met, sparks immediately flew. Two years and two months after they began dating, Christopher proposed during a vacation in Orlando. After a romantic dinner on the first night of their holiday, the couple was sitting in the balcony when Christopher went inside to put more sugar in his coffee and returned with a ring. He went down on a knee asked her the question. She said yes and wedding bells began to ring.
Shivani’s mother, Bhavna, took charge of the wedding planning and her sister Puja helped the bride decide important aspects. To be sure all went smoothly, they hired an event planner, Pinky Patel, to help them organize the wedding day. They had 10 months to do the planning, and with the help of the planner, everything went smoothly, despite a few stressful moments.
The wedding took place at the Hilton Orlando, given its convenient location and proximity to the airport. The wedding was preceded by the mehendi and vidhi. The mehendi ceremony took place at Shivani’s parents’ home in Tampa. The entire place was decorated by the bride’s family, who flew in from London for the wedding. The vidhi ceremony took place at Hunters Green Country Club, located in Tampa. The venue was decorated by Krishna Events.
Shivani’s family hired a coach to travel from her parent’s home in Tampa to Orlando, since about fifty of them were traveling together. On July 12, 2014, Shivani and Christopher wed in an Indian ceremony held in the Hilton’s ballroom. Later that afternoon, after the Indian ceremony, the couple took their vows in a civil ceremony held in another ballroom. Krishna Events decorated both the ballrooms.
Dudha Productions brought the ceremony to life with amazing music. They played during all wedding events. For the Indian ceremony, the groom entered to the tunes of “Jab Tak Hai Jaan” and the bride entered to “Tum Hi Ho” from Aashiqui 2. “Mere Haath Mein” from Fanaa floated through the ballroom as the bridesmaids entered. For the civil ceremony, the bridesmaids and groomsmen entered to “Marry Me” by Train. The bride made a beautiful entry to “I Do” by 98 Degrees.
The reception was a grand affair with the venue decorated in a lovely combination of purple and teal. The three unique centerpieces were made using purple and teal orchids and crystals. The tables were covered with purple tablecloths and beautiful silver chargers. The bright lighting lit up the entire room beautifully.
Music for the reception was mainly Indian, with a few dashes of American music. The bride and groom walked in to”Desi Girl” from Dostana. The couple’s first dance was to “Endless Love” by Mariah Carey and Luther Vandross. Shivani’s sister and her friends performed a dance for the newlyweds. The groom and his mother danced to “Because You Love Me” by Celine Dion. The bride and her father danced to “Butterfly Kisses” by Bob Carlisle.
Shivani and Christopher had a dream wedding. The couple advises would-be brides and grooms to enjoy the engagement and wedding planning phase because the wedding comes and goes before you even know it!

Tania weds Anish

Tania Sanchez and Anish Vora held their destination wedding in Cancun, Mexico. The three day wedding celebration was held at the JW Marriott in Cancun, Mexico. The couple met in October 2010. Anish attended the bachelor party of his childhood friend, Nirav in Acapulco, Mexico. When Anish met Tania that October, she barely knew English and I barely knew Spanish. Despite the language barrier, we discovered that chemistry is chemistry, and we both felt something special the day we met each other. That spark proved to be so strong that we saw each other once more during the four day bachelor party that October. In December 2010, Anish sat down with close friend Cameron, who was instrumental in supporting my desires to go back to Acapulco to see his future wife. That evening, Anish realized we only live once and things like distance, language, and other obstacles can be reconciled over time and should not stand in the way of something truly special.
Anish returned to Acapulco February 2011 to meet the woman he fell in love with at first sight. If not for a Spanish-English dictionary, the two could not communicate. I had brought with me, we could not communicate, but it did not matter, as the two began their journey together. Shortly after, Anish learned Spanish and traveled back to Mexico to spend time with Tania over the next year. In June 2012, Tania and her family came to the US to meet with Anish. In August 2012, Anish proposed (in Spanish!), and the rest, as they say is history.
The couple began planning and chose not to use a wedding planner. Anish’s family was instrumental in the planning. All wedding events were held at the JW Marriott, and the couple wed during a Hindu ceremony with a Spanish translator. The ceremony was held outside in a gazebo that overlooked the ocean, and fresh flowers complimented the already picturesque scenery. With the groom and his party arriving on jet skis, the wedding kicked off an already festive mood.
Despite a tropical storm that hit Cancun the Thursday before the wedding, the weather was gorgeous during the wedding weekend!
The couple suggests having someone, such as a best man, to make decisions and be with you 24/7 to ensure all events move forward smoothly.

Bhavika weds Dhaval

Friends played cupid to get Bhavika and Dhaval together in Little Rock, Arkansas. Once the arrow struck, the two dated two years and four months. The couple, along with friends, went on a vacation to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. On a lovely beach there, Dhaval arranged a romantic dinner just for the two of them. After the wonderful meal, the couple was walking back when something flashed. Bhavika turned around to find Dhaval on his knee, with a ring in hand. In a gazebo in front of them were their friends, four of them wearing blue t-shirts, each spelling one of the words – Will you marry me? On either sides of these friends stood two more buddies, wearing t-shirts printed with hearts.
With the wedding date set for May 2014, the couple had ten months to organize. They decided on a resort in Cancun Mexico as they wanted the wedding to be one big vacation for family and friends. Bhavika and Dhaval did all the planning, but had a wedding planner at the resort help them with the menus, flowers, and other requirements. They chose the resort for its expertise in hosting Hindu wedding and serving Indian meals.
The mehndi night took place on the Grand Terrace next to the swimming pool adorned with floating candles, alongside a food spread consisting of appetizers, drinks and a Mexican dinner. The color theme was orange and fuschia, and centerpieces held candles and flower petals. The pithi and Grah Shanthi were organized the next day morning and afternoon respectively, at the Bugambilias Gazebo, which offered great views of the ocean. The ceiling and entrance of the venue was draped with orange and yellow fabric. Guests were offered fresh coconut water and ice cream to help them cool off on the hot afternoon.
The next morning, the couple wed during a beachside ceremony. Chairs were red and gold, the tent was gold, and the mandap was royal red. Walkways were adorned with a candelabrum done in crystals and red roses. The wedding programs were designed to open as a fan and inscribed with the quote “Yeh zindagi chal toh rahi thi…per tere aane se maine jeena shuru kiya.” The tables had red and black sunglasses with the couple’s names on them along with the wedding date. DJ Josan played music at the wedding. Bhavika walked in to“Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Tho” from 1942: A Love Story and the bridesmaids walked in to “Kaise Mujhe Tum” from Ghajini. For transportation to and from the resort, a shuttle bus was used, and for movement within the resort, they used golf carts. The groom arrived on a horse with his baraat on the wedding day.
The cocktail and social hour was held in the foyer of Sunrise. The reception that followed was beautiful with a color theme of royal blue and white. Tables were done in royal blue and silver runners, and the chairs were all royal blue. The backdrop was in white with crystal curtains. The stage included a couch for the couple and was illuminated with blue LED lights. Two types of centerpieces were used – one had three cylinders with blue flowers with crystals and floating candles, and the other had blue and white roses in crystal vases. The venue was illuminated with blue ambient lighting.
A cake table was arranged next to the dance floor. The cake was personalized with a topper depicting the bride and groom clad in wedding outfits. The DJ played Hindi music with the dhol player. Bhavika and Dhaval made a unique entry to the reception. They had a few couples act out a few scenes depicting their love story and then made a grand entrance. Cousins performed on the occasion.
Dhaval and Bhavika urge would-be couples to enjoy the planning process. They also advise chosing suitable wedding attire if the ceremony is held outdoors in windy conditions.
