  • Gopita weds Ruby Indian Wedding at Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort and Spa Photographed by Rob Hurth Photography

A right swipe on a dating app Coffee Meets Bagel led Gopita Patel to her life partner Ruby Patel. When Gopita saw Ruby’s profile on the app, she almost did not swipe right as she thought he was too good looking. But fate had different things in mind, and Gopita and Ruby hit it off instantly.

After dating for 10 months, Ruby planned a proposal for Gopita. At the Redington Shores Beach, Florida, as they stood together hand-in-hand, staring at the ocean, Ruby got down on one knee and proposed to her. With tears of happiness running down her cheeks, Gopita said yes!

    Indian Couple After garland exchange

Gopita and Ruby found their perfect venue at Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort and Spa, in Bonita Springs, Florida. The couple’s pre-wedding ceremonies included a mehendi night, pithi ceremony, and Grah Shanti puja, which were held in their respective homes.

For the wedding, Gopita and Ruby wanted to keep the decor simple, elegant and traditional for their outdoor wedding and used the colors red, white, and green. Their stunning white mandap was decorated with lines of red roses and cascading green leaves on top. A red floral Ganpati blessed the couple from behind their chairs, and the aisle was filled with red roses.

The bride’s outfit inspired the reception décor. Gopita wore an icy blue lehenga choli covered in glistening beads. She wanted the décor to be as magical and shiny as her reception dress. Everything had a touch of shiny silver and glistening sequin work. The centerpieces were a mix of candles with white roses and baby’s breath. The couple added many personalized DIY touches to their wedding such as creating the table numbers and seating charts by hand.

The couple entered the reception with their closest friends and family to a group dance. The group danced to “Saajan Ji Ghar Aaye.” Gopita and Ruby’s first dance was to James Arthur’s “Say You Won’t Let Me Go,” which was sung by Gopita’s cousin.

Gopita’s sister Parita planned the entire reception, and there were a lot of happy surprises for the couple, but especially for Gopita. During a performance by Gopita’s brothers, Ruby surprised her by joining them and dancing to her favorite song “Jab Se Tere Naina!”

  • Pooja weds Mahul Indian Wedding at The Plaza Resort and Spa Photographed by Fine Art Productions

In August 2017, mutual family friends introduced Pooja Patel and Mahul Amin, and their love for food, movies, and college football helped them bond instantly.

In November 2018, Mahul proposed Pooja. At a gazebo near a pond in Piedmont Park in Atlanta, with the Atlanta skyline providing a perfect romantic backdrop, Mahul got down on one knee and proposed Pooja, who said “yes.”

Indian Bride and groom at the Indian wedding

Given Pooja’s family lives in Florida, the couple chose The Plaza Resort and Spa in Daytona Beach for their wedding and reception. The wedding festivities began with a welcome dinner for their guests at The Plaza. Other pre-wedding events included a pithi ceremony and sangeet-mehendi both held at the hotel. While they handled most of the wedding planning details themselves, Pooja and Mahul hired same-day wedding coordinators to take care of the details on their big day.

The wedding’s color theme was turquoise, gold and ivory. Neil Patel from NJP Events & Design took the couple’s ideas and brought their vision to reality. He even incorporated Pooja’s favorite flowers – orchids and roses – in the mandap décor and reception centerpieces.

The biggest ‘wow-worthy’ moment of the wedding was their first look reveal. Mahul waited for Pooja by the beach, and she walked towards him as the sun rose in front of them.

Pooja and Mahul’s wedding included a number of beautiful, well-thought out DIY details. Pooja decorated the flower girl baskets herself, and she even put together all the welcome bags and itineraries for the guests.

For the reception, the newlyweds went with the same color and flower theme as their wedding. Pooja and Mahul entered the reception with NeYo and Pitbull’s “Give Me Everything” playing in the background. The couple’s first dance was to “All Of Me” by John Legend. Their combined Father-Daughter and Mother-Son dance was to “Jab Koi Baat” by Atif Aslam and Shirley Setia. For the cake-cutting ceremony, they chose Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect.”

The music at the wedding and the reception was a mix of Bollywood, old school Punjabi songs and hip-hop. They had many dance performances by both the bride and the groom’s family and friends. The best part of the night was when Mahul joined his sisters to surprise his bride with a special performance.

  • Avani weds Naresh Indian Wedding at Hilton Tampa Airport Westshore Photographed by Since 1987 Films

When technology meets medicine, the end product can be wonderful. Such was the case when Naresh, a technology entrepreneur and author, met Avani,a physician.

These days, is not uncommon for couples to meet through dating apps. Naresh and Avani met through one such app, Coffee Meets Bagel. The two went through a series of interesting dates and nearly two and a half years of a loving relationship before reaching the wedding mandap.

Avani weds Naresh Indian Wedding in Hilton Tampa Airport Westshore by Since 1987 Films and Nima Film Photography

The engagement proposal took place in Tampa after careful planning by Naresh. He led Avani to believe they were attending a friend’s birthday party at a hotel penthouse rooftop. She sat there alone (with a photographer snapping pictures) watching a special tribute video. She then followed a trail of chocolates and flowers to a balcony where Naresh was waiting in a heart of roses and candles to propose. She said yes!

The wedding festivities were also held in Tampa. Over the course of the wedding week, most guests came in from out of town, while approximately 100 guests were locals.

The sangeet, wedding, and reception all took place in the hotel ballroom. The wedding was celebrated with beautiful flowers and a decorated mandap. For the reception, Avani designed centerpieces made of trees and crystals for the tables. Naresh choreographed dances and coordinated with most of the vendors.

The South Indian and Gujarati priests narrated the series of vidhis perfectly, along with live shehnai, nadaswaram, and thavil musicians. This was the most surprising “wow!” element of the wedding!

Month and day coordinators helped tremendously, but the couple did their own long-term wedding planning. Naresh utilized his tech savvy background to digitize the wedding preparations and improve efficiency and execution. Therefore, Naresh and Avani recommend month-of and day-of coordinators for budget-conscious families. They do not advise any one attempt any decor on their own, as it is cheaper and easier to rent from professionals. Naresh and Avani believe couples should enjoy their weddings instead of being stressed! They also urge couples not to worry too much about little wedding details, for the future of a healthy marriage is what is most important!

Their incredible multicultural wedding weaved Sindhi, American, and English traditions and took place in south Florida. Wedding festivities began with a haldi ceremony, mehndi, and sangeet. The haldi ceremony was a new experience for Peter’s family as they had never seen someone’s bare body rubbed with tumeric paste. The sangeet and mehndi party were celebrated at the Microtheater Miami, an outdoor venue featuring performances in shipping containers.

One special moment at the festivities was the baraat. In a unique touch, the baraat was lead by Peter along with his high school marching band! Though the couple originally thought to host their wedding in the United Kingdom, it didn’t work out. So, the effect of the English marching band was quite appreciated by the couple and the guests. A wow moment for Peter was when he saw Roshan in her wedding outfit. It simply blew his mind away.

They also recommend that you have good relations with vendors in the wedding for a smooth and hassle free wedding.

As it was an outdoor, daytime wedding, guests were provided with sunglasses and Japanese hand-held fans monogrammed with the couple’s hashtag – #MGsquared. After the wedding, Meera and Mickey were whisked away in a Cinderella carriage that added a perfect moment to their fairytale wedding.

Meera and Mickey looked as if they were dancing on clouds, which left their guests amazed. Their DJ played a mix of Bollywood, Punjabi and Hip-Hop to entertain their guests.
