Rachna Weds Siddhant Chehaw Park and Zoo in Georgia
Indian Destination Wedding
Rachna Patel fell in love when she met Siddhant Desai at the Albany Garba in 2009 while they were both in high school.
The duo lived in neighboring towns, but never spoke. They started dating in 2010, got engaged in January 2017 and hitched in Georgia on November 25, 2017.
It was a romantic proposal for Rachna at the picturesque Hoboken Park in NYC. Siddhant hired a professional photographer to snap pictures against the city skyline as he got down on one knee. Rachna was shocked as Siddhant had a proposal ring, and not the engagement ring. She got two rings!
The two were married at Chehaw Park & Zoo in Albany, Georgia, with 400 guests in attendance. Rachna wanted an outdoor wedding and the zoo was their favorite. With tall trees, an open green field and river behind the hall, it was the perfect venue.
The pre-wedding events were pithi and grahshanti and were held in the zoo hall. The mehendi was organized at the Araamda Inn, and the garba at the Hilton Garden Inn & Suite in Albany. Rachna and Siddhant didn’t hire a wedding planner as so many family members and friends helped them. Decor was done by Mandap World.
The wedding began regally with Siddhant arriving in a black convertible Bentley and Rachna in a doli. At the wedding, baby elephant installations were erected at the mandap entrance. The bride and groom were dressed in floral outfits. The tables had flowers and tall crystal candle columns.

Jasmine Weds Hemang at Vizcaya Museum & Gardens
Indian Theme Wedding
Jasmine Rajkumar Nebhrajani, a pediatrician, and Hemang J. Thakor, a physician, dated for over two years years before getting engaged.
When Hemang first saw Jasmine at the medical school gym, it was love at first sight. He was then introduced to her by friends, and the rest was history!
Jasmine, her friends and family went to the Perez Art Museum in Miami – a trip arranged by Hem. While Jasmine was having lunch, a waitress brought her an iPad to show her a video summarizing the couple’s courtship.
The video directed Jasmine down some steps, where she was led down a path along where her friends and family waited. “It was covered with candles and rose petals, at the end were Hem and a violinist,” remembered Jasmine. It was a dreamy proposal, followed by celebrations.
The couple tied the knot at the bride’s dream wedding venue, Vizcaya Museum and Gardens in Miami on December 30, 2017. They hired Karma Goddess to help with the wedding planning.
Jasmine and Hem’s wedding and reception, attened by 200 guests, had a rustic vintage theme. The outdoor wedding was a collage of blush pink, mint green and burgundy, and included decor of mason jars, vases, candles, amber lighting, and flowers — roses, carnations and eucalyptus.
Garba, bhangra, hip hop, and top 40 hits played during the ceremonies. Hem arrived in a white Mustang and the bridal party on a white trolley. The couple added a personal touch with handmade aggarbatti gifts for guests.
Jasmine’s advice to couples is to “take your partner’s opinion into account while planning.” The bride now laughs remembering her funny nightmare that rain would spoil her big day.

Ami Weds Nirav at Hilton Ocala
Indian Wedding ceremony
Lovebirds Nirav Desai, a senior accountant and Ami Patel, a dental student, first met on New Year’s Eve 2012. Their first casual meet turned out to be a lifelong alliance.
Nirav proposed to Ami in the most dramatic way after two years of dating. Ami and Nirav headed towards Magic Kingdom on Christmas Eve 2016. Nirav planned to propose her on a private boat at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Ami loves water rides and was already enthralled. Finally, when Nirav went down on his knees to propose her, it was a dream come true for the emotional Ami.
The couple tied the knot on December 23, 2017. Wedding planner Sokha, from Apsara Events, deftly handled all of the wedding preparations. Keeping in mind the ease of traveling, the lavish Hilton Ocala, in Ocala, Florida, was the couple’s chosen venue. What most drew the couple to the hotel was the magnificent banquet hall.
Traditional events such as the Ganesh puja were arranged at the couple’s respective homes. The first joint pre-wedding event was the Garba. The backdrop included traditional Indian decor outlined with white light as well as a centrepiece with a blue-gold Radha Krishna on top, and bangles and floating candles on the bottom.
White and gold provided the backdrop for the wedding ceremony. The groom made a royal entry on a horse carriage to the song “Malhari,” while the lovely bride entered to the track “Jag Ghoomeya.” Chivari chairs were elegantly place for the 300 guests. The white and gold pillared, open mandap looked simple yet elegant adding to the ambiance and to the decor that was a blend of tradition and class.
“Marriage is no doubt a union of two families, but ultimately it celebrates a couple’s eternal relationship” something Ami and Nirav lovingly believe.

Ruchi and Anand
What happens when two doctors meet on a social networking site? Fall in love, of course. Anand Vakharia, family physician, and Ruchi Amin, surgery resident, met on Facebook. They met in person for the first time after four months of being Facebook friends. Since that time, they have been inseparable.
Anand’s cousin Sachin and his wife Crystal visited them in Milwaukee for the weekend. With their help, Anand meticulously planned the proposal. Sanchin and Crystal told the couple that a friend was having a party at the Boerner Botanical Gardens and wanted to take them along as their guests.
The outdoor proposal was romantic with a violinist playing near the pond with a waterfall. Ruchi realized that Sachin and Crystal who had been walking with them
were no longer in sight! Anand then got down on one knee and proposed, but was so nervous, he forgot to put the ring on Ruchi’s finger. When she said yes, all her friends and family hiding around the trees jumped out to congratulate them.
Anand and Ruchi hired wedding planner Signature Events to plan all the events. The couple was also hands-on in planning the details and securing vendors.
They wanted a semi-destination wedding that would suit their friends and family. Since Anand is from Ft. Lauderdale and Ruchi from Rochester, so they chose Hyatt Grand Cypress, Orlando. Given the wedding was planned for Thanksgiving weekend 2017, they thought it would also be the perfect vacation for guests.
The pre-wedding functions included Sangeet/Mehendi and Garba. The garba night decor included a Ganesh floral swing centerpiece with hanging ceiling draping and cabanas. Music was a live band, Ritesh from Medley Entertainment, NJ.

407-239-3931The morning wedding was held outdoors at Wing song Greens with 350 guests. The wedding’s theme was coral, pink, green, and yellow with peacock themed fans, having personalized ceremony details. Unique aspects of the wedding were a floral aisle scroll, rotating stage where bride and groom exchanged garlands, and a sky air banner congratulating the couple. The groom even made a rocking entry via speedboat during the baraat that traveled along the waterfront to the golf course.
The reception was done in a royal blue, coral, ivory, and rose-gold theme. The stage had an intricate draped backdrop, and the centerpieces were hanging and floating candles, elephants/circle geometric accents. The dance floor was decorated with a large floral, crystal chandelier with a monogram.
The couple made sure each seat had hand-folded paan, escort cards consisted of a cookie box with a bride and groom frosted cookies. Besides, there was a Waterford vase ice sculpture with initials engraved, fruit carvings with Ruchi and Anand engraved on it. One incredible reception moment was when the bride-groom entered to a self-written rap about their love story.
Ruchi’s advice to couples planning their wedding is to start early to be able to share the special day with friends and family.

Krystal and Ajay
Photographer:
Sona PhotographyAjay Mesuria, a CPA, and Krystal Patel, a pharmacist, met online. They became friends and gradually fell in love. The couple dated for a year before tying the knot in November 2017. The duo traveled to meet each other almost every alternate weekend from Washington, DC, to Houston.
Ajay popped the question to Krystal on a surprise trip. He told Krystal that they would be visiting his cousins. Early in the morning, the couple set out on a private hot-air balloon ride over Scottsdale. They had a freshly cooked southwestern breakfast with custom-made wine. In the background, Krystal’s favorite songs were playing.
The proposal was adventurous and romantic. They hiked to the Grand Canyon, went to one of the farthest rocks that had a panoramic view of the national park. The beautiful day coupled with the breathtaking view of the Grand Canyon was the backdrop of Ajay’s proposal. He went down on one knee and asked Krystal to marry him. Ajay arranged for a photographer to capture the moments.
After the trek, the couple told informed family and friends and celebrated with a special dinner at El Tovar inside the Grand Canyon.
The couple chose St. Petersburg Marriott Clearwater in Florida as the venue for their wedding as Tampa is where Krystal grew up. The hotel has easy access to airports, and both Downtown Tampa and Downtown St. Petersburg, shuttle services, and a huge ballroom.
The couple invited 300 guests to their wedding. They didn’t hire a wedding planner. They managed their time, made trips to Tampa, and selected the venue. Their family helped them with the planning.
The wedding ceremony took place under a Jodha Akbhar style mandap in the Grand Ballroom with a coral, red and peach color theme. White and coral pink roses and two elephant statues adorned the aisle along with red rose petals and candles on both sides.

Meanwhile, the ballroom transformed into a palace with light pink, ivory, and gold theme with candlesticks and rose centerpieces for the reception. The bride wore a royal blue and gold lehenga by the same designer from Tampa.
Ajay and Krystal designed a customized guest book with photos of their special moments. “Don’t let the stress of planning get in the way, make sure to enjoy with your guests and let vendors and planners take care of the rest,” Krystal advises couples.
